mega:#!tpFFXa4K!12r68edFgc-RDpJhKEdQRljHAFa0O3PpLsPFDAPurf8
Really makes you think....
>>169801536
that sprite looks so stupid. I just can't take that fight seriously because of it. "Embrace futility" looks so absolutely ridicules. he's literally just menacingly doing the  pose towards you.
I just started playing this yesterday, at week 10 right now and I already killed the Necromancer, the Swine prince and some random Collector guy.
How is my progression so far?
How many weeks does one need to beat the whole game on his first playthrough?
>>169803342
depends on if you want to kill all bosses and shit or just go for the darkest dungeon immediately.
But don't worry about any time constraints. Just play the game at your own pace. There is no time limit in darkest and radiant mode.
I had well over 80 weeks because I wanted all caretaker goals and all ancestors trinkets before I finish the game.
>>169806934
>>169801638
>>169807197
Is this the least threatening enemy in the game?
>>169808430
-100 stress
>play the game for a while, hear the CPU trying to ingnite fusion
>after that try to browse stuff
>see shit like thiss all over
This is fine.
I retrospect, sometime in the past 7 years i should have reapplied some thermal paste, or at least clean it out.
>>169808542
Yes. Maggots are weak but they can stun and inflict disease. Even spiders are known to gangrape champs and doggos will almost always hit first which means deathblow to a hero on DD.
>>169808664
>i should have reapplied some thermal paste
Might be a bit too late now. Get a Intel i5 asap plus fan or maybe it's time to just build a new pc altogether.
>>169808679
More importantly maggots deal stress damage too.
>>169808956
>>169808878
yeah, im saving up for new comp, and i do have an old i5, which is the reason it held out for so long i bet.
Whats the weakest boss in the game and why is it the ghost crew
>>169809969
Flesh snek is hilariously easy with the right team.
>>169809969
>swine king
>flare
>laugh it to death
>siren
>holy water
>obliterate her
>formless flesh
>4houndmasters
>hold a blood-poolparty afterwards in all that bleed
>necromancer
>crusader
>necro commits sodoku because crusader keeps 1hiting his toys while the rest of the party bullies him
>prophet
>guard dog/occultist
>redecorate his chapel while his shouts are drowned out by laughter
>crew
>bitchlsap the anchorman to the back
>sink the rest of the crews dignity even lower
Or just bring arblest+occult+hound+BH and delete bosses in 3 turns
>>169810080
>with the right team
That applies to any boss.
is the radiant update out properly yet or its still beta?
Whats teh build number?
>>169811054
You had me up until the crew
How do you cheese the crew?
>>169811313
Radiant release was #17400. We're currently on #17549.
>>169811548
knockback the anchorman where he cant do anything, and the rest of the crew isn't much of a threat.
Though the fight is easy as it is, so its much better to just stun the guy for 2 turns, or flat out ignore him and burst teh crew down.
>>169809969
I really don't like Inchoate Flesh, it hits absurdly hard and whilst it's not too difficult to kill it, it can get sort of be a close call at times.
It's not gonna wipe your party but it could take one or two heroes along the way if you're really unlucky, which sucks.
>>169811957
thanks mate
That wasn't even purging, that was a necrophiliac gangrape.
Well that was fun. Four campfires led me to believe this place was a LOT larger than it actually is. I could have cleared the whole place.
>>169813916
i would love long dungeons but the fact that you have to throw away more than half of the loot annoys me.
There should be either a hamlet upgreatable, or pre-mission purchasable wagon to which you have to backtrack, wiht all its penalties to access, which acts as a second inventory. Hell, there could be event where the wagon is ihter robbed while in the dungeon or have to defend it when coming back to it.
>>169814198
>upgreatable
Upgrade*
Agreed. They want you to be limited to make resources more valuable and tactical so the hamlet doesn't progress too quickly so it strengthens it's desperate atmosphere for further immersion. Personally, I believe it's fine as it is or gold should go up to 2k without antiquarian and 3.5k with her. They buffed your gold carrying weight and inflated the currency and so far it hasn't been an issue.
>>169814198
That sounds fun as hell actually
Well fuck me in the ass then
That was my second attempt and the first one almost killed me. Even with a map from the first attempt I still got that fucking lost.
These bastards marking me just killed the run, and look at that party composition. What a jackass.
>>169815101
Holy fuck what a retard, I just realized I found the fucking portal that time and didn't notice it before getting teleported out and wandering to my death in the opposite direction. If I just went back I might have fucking won that run.
I could have used this knowledge and gone straight to the portal the second time.
Fuck.
>>169814198
>>169814870
I forgot to add, chances are for updates is sorta slim after dlc. Unless they plan for another one or move on to a new game; Darkest Dungeon has plenty of room for improvement and it's the gift that keeps on giving. Activity will spike up a lot once the DLC (probably happening in April) hits but no one can tell what Red Hook plans to do afterwards.
I think your idea is completely feasible if someone made the mod for it. For God's sake, there's a multiplayer mod so it's not completely impossible.

>>169815071
>Stun him
>do enough damage or kill him out right
>if he summons, go for HMW first or ignore them all and just keep a DPS on collector
He's not that bad and most of the time he's free loot. Doesn't mean he's not annoying since you have almost no notification of when you fight him.
Which quirk to lock?
>>169816098
All of em.
>>169816227
>only 3 can be locked
>2 locked
C'mon man.
>>169816303
Did I FUCKING STUTTER?
>>169815671
Actually killed the collector fairly easily but my heroes got slightly fucked by 3 HMW he summoned which really made the last boss fight much harder.
The puzzling trapezohedron isn't useful when i already have 70k gold anyway.
Also because of that collector cunt i lost my best occultist
>>169816098
Corvid's eye.
+2 spd and more melee crit are great but in champion quests you will need accuracy more often and extra scouting could be a life saver. Occultists don't fight half of the time and you would want someone else to go first. Especially if you want a damage dealer to go first and finish the job while your occultist doesn't have anything to do.
Is it worth locking unerring on a hwm?
>>169815385
>no one can tell what Red Hook plans to do afterwards
They pitch CC as their "first" DLC.
Far as I'm concerned, they can make as many modular additions to the game as they want, and I'll keep buying (within reason).
>>169816660
Ahhh crap. I'm planning on fighting Formless Flesh right now too.
>>169817018
+10% dmg more on point-blank and grape shot is sexy. You can slap on slugger too since ripostes can potentially occur more often than his other melee skills.
>>169817048
Oh yes. I would gladly buy whatever good shit they're selling. Rarely do a gaming company ever delivers good content and frequent updates that always seems to be more improvement than setback. I'm hopeful that this dlc will live up to it's hype, can't wait to squash mosquito vampires.
>>169815071
>>169816660
> formless flesh
> this team
What did you expect?
>>169816098
Corvid's. Occultist's ACC blows.
>>169816098
>have two crui-fucking quirks locked in
>instead of fixing it, he locks in more shit
Am i the only one who doenst give a shit about locking in shit, but keeps the guys negative-quirk free?
>>169818278
I expected not having to fight the collector
I only lost that occultist because of the damage he did.
>>169816660
that enemy has the most disturbing sprites of all
I would be stressed as fuck too if literal animated shit from the ass of some rotting posessed swine lunged at me.
>ancestor mods the hamlet
>a shitposter arrives
>attempts to ban him from life
>ban evades
>>169818625
>Am i the only one who doenst give a shit about locking in shit
If you have spare money, quirks are the only other way to make your heroes stronger and more efficient. They're literally game changing and can net you quicker victories. You can't control what positive quirks your heroes get so if you happen to land on a really good one then you should make it a priority to lock in free shit.
You're missing out.
>>169819076
>brings him to /trash/
>goes mad and tears out his eyes
>>169817476

Now I think about, they'll probably be Unholy/Beast.
Tell your Warrens Crusaders to pack their shit and be ready to leave for the Court, lads
>>169816660
>kickstarter trinket
Blah blah your shit blah blah how dare you play a single player game in a way we don't like
>>169816660
>>169819692
Why aren't backet trinkets/heroes included in the game as rare rewards?
>>169819853
I imagine because most of them are op/unorthodox
>>169819692
Sounds weird but i only give them to guys who come back from the darkest dungeon
>>169819649
I have a feeling the majority will be Unholy/Eldritch.
>>169820007
Cool, I personally don't care how some guy jerks off or plays his games as long as he's having fun and more importantly keeping me out of it
I got a short lvl 5 mission and I wanna try a shuffle party with a jester and gr
Im guessing I also take a hwm along the road and what should I get for 4th member? Also what spells?
>>169821051
Vestal or plague doctor
>>169815071
Another one
At least i'm not gonna have to fight a boss after this one.
>>169821051
A ballsy player once brought these madmen into DD1 blind. And forgot bandages
Outside of that however they have been working just fine for me.
That's a lot of blood. Too much blood. What the fuck.

>>169825805
>tfw first few weeks got 3 HWM and BH, but now at week 56 only 1 arbalest
>>169826492
That's a 30% chance to hit each time, just like when your GR with 29.5% crit crits two or more times in a row.
Oh god If I get another hunger check im fucked.
But that secret room, I have to know, I have to.

>also take a Hellion
>everything works out great, reach Shuffling horror
>long drawn out battle
>can't heal because Occultist gets constantly moved to the front
>everyone getting low
>Jester on death's door
>Shuffling horror gets pretty low too
>new round
>party gets shuffled again
>Jester in front
>use final
>it crits for massive damage
>boss is almost dead
>now I just have to heal the jester and...
>not so fast it's the Shuffling horros turn again
>death blow
>Occultist kills the horror with his knife
>mfw looking at the graveyard for several minutes afterwards
This game is making me depressed, it's always my very favorite characters that die, I wouldn't have given a shit about that random Hellion, but Pantoul was my bro, at least that cunt is dead, I doubt it gets better tough.
>>169828084
>DD1
>Leper anywhere in the post
>>169828047
damn son, the shambler can spawn when you go torchless, the higher the difficulty the more likely, 1% for apprentice level, 8% for veteran level and 12% for champion level
>>169828390
well, I went in blind
>>169828421
Yeah, but see that combat encounter to the top right, I thought that was the shambler, because holy shit it totally was. I'll just go around.
NOPE suddenly shambler battle, no warning no nothing.
Rip two perfectly good heroes.
>>169812245
move res on anchor too strunk, pull crew instead
>>169828648
>Objective: Kill the Shuffling Horror
I beat the game yesterday now I feel like I should stop playing until Crimson Court. I won't be able to finish a Stygian run before then, it took 2 months to beat Darkest. Plus if I wait until then it will be all the more challenging to get the Old Road achievement. Fuck I want to play though.
>>169829106
>Fuck I want to play though
I feel you. I wanted to hold off for the expansion before the Radiant update came out but I couldn't. Now I've beaten it and dumped and extra 160 hours in since then and still want to play.
>bare minimum of a month away
Help.
>>169828084
>jester is dying
>have him guarded
>by abomination go from full health to deathblow
I'm still waiting for my Abomination to resurrect. None in the stage coach and two empty spots on the roster.
>>169829239
I could just do runs on my complete save but it feels weird to keep sending my guys out when I've eliminated every threat. I feel like they all deserve to retire.
>>169828047
>AT LEAST two fights ahead
>pitch black
>a houndmaster and dead weight
Better cut your losses m8
>>169829086
I give you that one, but it's not like I even reached the Shuffling Horror in my first attempt, I made bad decisions and was very unlucky and the Leper got fucked way earlier.
>>169829639
You bet your sweet fucking ass I got out of there right at that instant.
Those 3 battles, 2 of them were shamblers
No way in hell I stood there any longer.
>>169830107
When you encounter a shambler and run, the next fight will always be a shambler until you kill it.
>>169830604
Thats the thing, I dont know for sure if the top encounter was a shambler, I assumed it was either that or a collector, so i went around.
Lo and behold a shambler greeted me.
Hey new Dank Dungeon diver. I was wondering is there a common sense system in place for treating sanity breaks?
Like if someone becomes masochistic would putting him in a flagellation room not cure him? Or a Hopeless person in the bar?
>>169832095
No. Send them anywhere you like, so long as they don't have a bad quirk that limits them (don't send them gambling if bad gambler, they can only pray if God Fearing)
Only stress heal if they're afflicted or you need them for the next mission. It's a waste of money otherwise since you can stress heal them during the quest or they get stress healed passively by week.
When the fuck did they add more saves? WHY DID I DELETE A SAVE?!
>>169820143
There will definitely by Eldritch enemies.
The Ethereal Crucifix is bonus damage vs Eldritch, and the Fortifying Garlic is disease and DoT resist, so presumably those are teasing what the nature of the enemies will be.

I understand making the mistake of attacking wilbur first one time. Everyone's first instinct is to kill the small guy in the back. But the swine prince immediately retaliates for massive damage, and your heroes literally tell you that the pig does not like it when you harm wilbur. Why in the world would you keep attacking him? It's retarded.

Guys how does this work with getting back trinkets, I lost the ancestral signet ring recently, does it spawn as reward again or is it lost forever?
>>169879369
if you lose ancestral trinkets or sell them, you can acquire them again. selling bad ancestors trinkets like the scroll and farming shamblers is a nice way to make money.
if you get party wiped and lose all your trinkets, you can get them back with shrieker missions.
They breed quickly down there in the darkbut perhaps we can slay them even faster.
>>169879456

arbalest vestal bh maa can clear everything?
>>169882603
in the beginning, almost all team comps are viable. but yours isnt bad, it has good frontliners, stuns and heal. back line damage is a bit low though, could become a problem later.
>>169882910
isnt there some cookie cutter teamcomp that beats everything?
>>169882959
4 houndmasters.
>>169882959
No, you need different stuff for different dungeons. And bosses require their own approach entirely at higher levels.
And that's good too. It would be insanely boing if there was only one good team composition that beat everything. The hero balance is quite good at the moment.
>>169882959
not really, there are good combinations in general, but different locations need different stuff, the "best" party you can send everywhere is probably either a party that can shuffle and stun the enemies around a lot or a mark party, but most of the time it's way better to adjust the party for the location, for example don't bring guys with tons of bleed attacks to the cove, most shit there has a high resistance to it. The game tells you these things from time to time.
>>169883260
is there a guide for best party for each location?
ive been hoarding vestals, crusaders, arbalests, grave robbers, bounty hunters and houndmasters
i pretty much only use those
Haven't played in a while. I hears you can start NG+ without having beaten the game once, is this true? Any other new recent big changes?
>>169883370
>not using based leper
>not using based jester
Alright. I decided I need to take on the lvl 5 bosses after months of putting them off.
What party should I run? Arbalest definitely. Anything else sans MaA and Bounty hunter go.
>>169883370
I would aim to have at least one of each, I know some seem shit now, but in champion dungeons other skills get more important, like the ability to stress heal or stun, I also have this >>169883481

>>169884251
>>169884280
Yeah for some reason I thought I mentioned its a swine god run, my bad.
>>169884292
seems good. as long as you bring an arbalest or occultists, it's easy. if you bring both, it's a joke.Don't forget to switch in flare and weakening curse before the fight
>>169884292
that's what I ran, except I used a MaA instead of an Abomination, the Occultist and the Arbalest make this fight a joke, a MaA would be optimal in my opinion since he can guard targeted dudes, but you don't have that one. The weakening curse of the Occultist alone is really strong, the swine god won't do any damage at all after you apply it a few times, seems like a fine party, now you just have to reach it somewhat intact, the harder task in my opinion.
>>169884668
>>169884432

How cool would it be to actually play that hero against endless waves of ennemies ? You won't have any items or torch level, but at least you would die putting a fight
>>169887505
I dunno, playing one guy against DD levels of enemies doesn't sound like a good time. You'd die pretty quickly. Unless of course they arrive one by one, or it's one long fight that automatically spawns reinforcements every two turns.
And because you don't get any rewards from it, it would a pretty depressing fight. And fighting without trinkets makes it even more sad.

>Has anything changed much since ~2 years ago?
A lot. Mostly everything is viable and the new heroes gives you loads of versatility. All the useless skills got buffed so they have decent benefits that fixes the hero's flaws and most of them can be used in a variety of ways. Same could be said by trinkets, all of them had their effects reworked and there are new ones that are good too.
Killing first, stuns and debuffs still trumps as the prime strategy. Now you can do it in different ways with different heroes.
>>169930878
I am more asking about new mechanics, than new content. After upgrading my hamlet and 3 hero teams to the max, and beating all the stages of the first bosses, I'd want something new - and not only a different mix of the mechanics which were already in play back then.

>>169913352
Corpses can be semi useful if you want to use a skill over the other (iron swan or if they bleed)
Also, they add another layer in gameplay since some skills the monsters use requires a corpse.
You're pretty much making the game easier if you take them off.

Animalistic Shrine is the regular banner that the drum pig has but with a stabbed human heart on top of the symbol. Gaining too much insight, it's giving me a trip.

My Arbalest went Masochistic but made up for it by critting the Hag thrice (44 Damage mother fucker) Went way better than my previous attempt where I was hitting her at a 10-20 pace, this attempt had an average of a 20-40 damage, thanks to the damage buffs from camp and the previous quest's buff.

Went pretty well. Actually discovered a decent strategy against the Collector when you have no units who can hit the back. If you push two heads towards his back, it seems he has no way of going back to the last row allowing your heroes to attack him as they please. Purge's 2nd effect was actually useful for once ( I brought it for the Skeleton Champ Enemy so I can effectively clear corpses). Also, this makes it so that his collect call will always be summoned in the first row in front of him allowing easy access to you Leper

I don't really have a problem against the collector at all, even with a rather unsuited group you can still win, I am sure there is some shit-tier combination that gets BTFO against him but I haven't found it yet, but the shambler on the other hand, especially on champion, if you are not 100% ready for this guy he and his little fags will wreck your shit.
>tfw Collector is foolish enough to get in the way of my REMOVE ELDRITCH/Cove Extermination team

Plus she is white :^)
>>169988214
Try saying that when you're stuck with a party that has one hero with an un-buffed stun, no way to reach the back, and no way to bring the Collector up front, and no effective way to mitigate the damage the Collected Highwayman dishes out.
does the scouting chance increase the chances of you suprising your opponents, or its jsut help preventing the reverse by scouting the battels themselfs?

>>169945941Same thing, dude.
>>169997231
The ancestor's candle is great, one of the best shambler trinkets. You can get it very early and I use it in almost every dungeon. The beast slayer and unholy slayer ring are insanely powerful in the warrens and ruins respectively. Junia's head on healers all day err day. Of course, any form of stun buffing trinket is amazing, since stun is the strongest ability in the game.
And for characters with low resolve level that have no or only low dodge (looking at you leper) focus ring can be very good. But it get's outclassed by sun and moon rings. Those are just incredibly strong.
And the non shambler ancestors trinkets are all very good, but you only get them late in the game.
.

A friend bought this game for me like a year ago but I can't get past level 3. I've played for over 30 hours now at least and every time I hit level 3 the characters just think they're hot shit and go like "wahh we're too good for a low level dungeon" then I bring them to a higher level dungeon and I get fucking DESTROYED. >>170005851
you DID upgrade their skills and equipment right?
If so, then due to lack of info on what you are doing, i can only saygit gud.
Seriously though, focus your damage, kill at least one guy per turn, if cant, stun as many of them as you can. The above 2 takes priority over healing in most cases.
Gud all-rounder partys are:
vestal - jester - houndmaster/highwayman/almost anyone really - hellion.
Vestal keeps you alive and helps finish off backline and stragglers, jester keeps you stress free, speeds you up so you always go first and bleeds 2 at once, hellion stuns front and obliterates back, and the last guy preferably can deal real dmg to all positions
OR
arblest+occultist+houndmaster+bountyhunter
Kill niggas with dmg out the ass, if something would take 3+ hits, mark it and delete it in 2. You wont get stressed because whatever would stress you will die before it can, and all the crit and 1hitko will stressheal the leftovers. For similar reason you wont be needing much healing, but theres arblest+occultist if you do eat a few crits.
Undisputed best party for bossfights.
If in doubt, use these until you familirize yourself with the enemies, recognize patterns, and can afford to experiment with others.
>>170001692

whats with the color code, how Am I supposed to read it?
>>170007913
I think it's just to give each class its own color.
>>170005851
Focus your firepower on the most threatening enemy and kill them as fast as possible. Enemies you can't kill right away you should try to stun. Generally the most dangerous enemies in the game are stress dealers that appear in the back rows, so parties that can hit the back easily tend to succeed the most.
>>169908827
First one was bit weird but jester and PD to do DoT dmg against the formless flesh, occultist and hellion had good quirks + hellion had her bleed attacks.
Second one is basically just every lvl 3/4 hero i had.
>>170007028
Why do people still run Jesters without finale? Give him some +ACC and a quickdraw charm and he'll always go first and usually be able to 1-shot whoever's in the 3rd row. It's better offensively than slice-off or harvest, and dirk stab is better for finishing off low-HP enemies.

RNG only actually affects a few aspects of the game, like who arrives in your stagecoach or hunger checks.
>>170019649
It's a rather long game and it can get a tedious at times, especially if you want to do everything/kill every boss, it's still a fun game. Here is what I like most about it, in most games you become an unstoppable juggernaut during endgame, but in darkest dungeon you are never really safe, champion dungeons and the darkest dungeon itself especially aim to give you a bad time, also if you get it, do yourself a favor and go in completely blind that's where half of the fun is

I stopped using double stun and poison since both of them end up being redundant, half of the time one is more effective than using both. Plus half of the time, I would rather have poison to tick down the enemy's health to exactly 6 hp or less to finish them off because I can't lower all their prot with or without the necessary debuff (your damage dealers have them).
It's fun to have your heroes try out other skill sets instead of slapping on the same set they have for only one specific party.

Honestly, I don't think skill setups are something you could make a good guide out of. The right skills to have depend on the dungeon you're going into and the rest of your party composition. There's a surprising amount of flexibility in the system, especially since you can change skills mid-quest. There's only a few skills like bulwark of faith that are shitty enough to never use, most bad skills have at least some niche they fit into.
>>170045483
The only skill that's truly shitty enough to never ever even consider using is the Antiquarian's Flashpowder.
Lads
I want to use PD's vapours; how do I make them more viable than her blight and bleed skills? I'm thinking you'd get the best use out of them in, say, the Warrens, where the Swinetaurs are super resistant to those effects and to the stun -- you'd want to beef up your Leper or your BH, right?

Almost never, actually.
I just spam his stun and that's enough of a contribution, then sponge hits that I can heal off with his excellent self-heal that also removes all his stress.
When I run into bullshit like Grouper Gangbang then I can transform and tear them apart.
Once you get a restraining Padlock + Bright Tambourine Jester you can go Beast Mode all the time. Ancestor's Scroll is also a massive meme trinket but I think it's good on an Abomination that transforms alot.
For situations like The Hag and against Shamblers he really get's shit done because he can land huge focused damage on Position 3.

I killed him yesterday for first time. I read about the fight so I tried a new party setup : Occ/GR/Occ/Hell. It worked perfectly until when he started to be low on health and suddenly I started to have bad rolls and enemies critted all the time. I killed him, tried to retreat, failed three times in a row and lost Hellion and one Occ because the enemies wouldn't stop critting.

Occ for tentacles' Eldritch bonus; even better if you have his incense, and heals. If you want to run marks, that too. If not, you can Debuff Damage on everyone's favorite Giant.
PD for healing Blight, buffing frontliners, and getting someone out of Death's Door if Meme Arab is being a shit.
And the frontliners can vary. Whether you want to run marks with Abdul or Bleed is up to you.I'm partial to mark parties, myself.

>>170070502
I did it.
I had to cheat a little and stand there healing my stress and HP after a particularly bad encounter that put 2 of mine on DD while the Rapturous Cultists were wanking each other, but still.
The best thing was seeing my BH, my trusty BH that was with me from the earliest days, get a stress check, and come out Courageous. He then survived two death's door procs. The man is SO getting his Love Interest fulfilled.
Admittedly, the Shuffling Horror wasn't even that hard.
The three priests encounter was far worse. Was the moon always this blood red?
The moment I've lost some characters and trinkets, a Shrieker quest popped up immediately without the corresponding town event.

How the fuck do I make the Arbelast work? Her based damage even with a mark seems way too low to be a reliable damager, and her crit chance is high but still not all that consistent enough to make her a real heavy hitter. Is she a late bloomer character?
>>170089449
No, she's just shit. If you get the medic greaves for her, she is an alright support/damage hybrid. But her heal is not enough to rely on it, so you also need some people that can self or supplement heal, like leper, abom, houndmaster of even hellion of antiquarian.

Huh? She usually deletes courtiers and wretches when I run her, or comes close -- at least at apprentice level. I've heard her damage only gets better later on.
She's also got mad utility: heals, mark clears, torch light, the best camp healing, shuffles, self / party buffs, AOE, enemy debuffs, and she can make decisions for me when I don't feel like it (blindfire).
Only thing she doesn't have is any fanart.

Occultist, Bounty Hunter, Houndmaster, then something like Plague Doctor who's good filler in any scenario.
Occultist + HM Mark on one enemy will do absolutely filthy, positively illegal damage with Collect Bounty.
HM is good for guarding versus Giants, stunning the giants, and can reach the back to burst down the Viragos. Occultist can also drag the Viragos to the front and ALOT of enemies are eldritch so he deals good damage with Ceiling Noodles.
Plague Doctor is your standard "press Blinding Gas to break the entire game" scenario, she can cure any DoTs which are common and can destroy corpses which is very useful. Alternatively just roll with something like Arbalest/Grave Robber/HWM who fit nicely into your marking party.

>>170089449
She's pretty good, even if you don't have marks on the enemies. Bola is a neat skill that can really mess up enemy ranks shoving melee guys back and getting at least one back liner to the front two ranks. Battlefield Bandage is obviously a great skill. Then you have either blind fire which can be good if she gets shuffled or suppressing fire if you want to cut down the chance for the enemy to crit your guys if you cannot deliver a killing blow. She has some great utility.
>>170097187
That too, one of the reasons Occultist is so based, but it never hurts to be sure. Your Occultist also needs to be using heals so dodge-stacked guards are a good way to stall the Giants whilst you heal up.
50% of a Champion team's potential is abusing free turns to restore health and heal stress, which is why the big enemies are often easier than the small ones assuming you can manage their bullshit.
>>170097836
I see, I've been trying to utilize her as pure backline damage so maybe that's my problem.
>>170097836
>even if you don't have marks on the enemies

but if you do, she hits as hard as BH
>>170089449
Arbalest has accurate long-range damage and tons of utility. She boosts the power of self-sufficient healers on the frontlines and takes down the enemies they can't hit.
Plenty of situations you will want one instead of a Grave Robber or Plague Doctor.
The fact she even has a Mark is already more utility than she needs.
>tfw people talking about arbalest not having any damage
>all my arbalests are monsters that destroy the backline anytime I take them along for a quest
Que?
>>170097187
I just tried that and it didn't work so well. Giant resisted 2/3 marks, and even then he would still hit for about 17 which was half health for my team. Also doesn't stop him from using Confusing Spores, which brought my Occultist to the front row. Stunning was better since it allowed me to just attack or to buff/heal when necessary, but it wasn't much better.
Seems to me like stunning and marking with a -PROT mark and then going all out on him works better.
>>170097984

I prefer Bola over Blindfire, ignores the Guardshitters and sends Templars and Scratchers to the back where they're useless cunts most of the time.
Bola is made stronger with a Move Amulet which also helps prevent you getting pulled to the front, not too shabby desu.
>>170098165
>Two turns before you can finally start taking down the backrow
>By that time you should already have wiped out the back row with your other characters
How is that useful? You want backrow dead before they can even make a move.

>actually killing the backline instead of cucking them over and over again
>>170098673

>>170098982
Hench why I said two turns instead of three, but at that point you could use your marker to just attack the backrow outright and kill them.
What's the most useful tip that took you the longest time to discover?
I was so used to item usage taking a turn in other RPGs that I didn't realize you can use them in combat for no cost and heal blight or bleed if you need to.
>>170099157

I prefer the quick shot that boost your spd. Literally doubletap skill where your musk or arby will start the round to finish off someone. It also hits the first row too, you can't choose who gets hit but it'd great if there's only 2 or 1 monster left.
>>169887734
>And because you don't get any rewards from it, it would a pretty depressing fight.
The more turns you manage to hold, the higher chances your party members survive. Say you die in the first turn, there are 90%chances for evert member to die, and the more you drag the fight the better for them

>>170105651
Yeah that's what I do. After 2 or 3 rooms plus corridors, they just pile up loot to the point where you always have to make a decision of ditching jewels or heirlooms. Every dungeon. Maybe I should just stick with either money or heirlooms instead of both just to be efficient.
Recently I've been fantasising about a whole new dungeon and here is my shit so far. The dungeon will be basically a child going batshit insane and corrupt, thus making an army of an eldritch abominations from toys in a place with aesthetics of a castle/manor. I also HATE how boring and shitty "burst down someone and do it with the rest" tactic is nearly the most efficient and wildly used one. My toys will fuck your shit up, maybe they won't deal much damage but it will be sure will be a war of attrition.
First we will start with those old style british soldiers with their funny hats but this time the hat will be made out of hairy spiders and insects resting on an abomination of half human half toy body. He should have a rather high HP and some prot at the cost of maybe damage output. Since those funny fucks look tall with their hat, his skill shall be "stand tall" when our lad raises his otherwise slouching body to protect all behind him, so all attacks that target anyone behind him will have 60%-70% of their damage taken by our tall fuck. Also when he dies his hat will turn into some abomination of what the fuck full of insects launching itself onto your hero damaging and stressing until the battle ends.
Then there will be a doll, doll's dummy. It will be somewhat fargile but have a funny way of fucking you up. If low on hp it will tear apart it's tentacle infested hand and slap it on lets say our british lad. It will give a permanent riposte, damage won't be too high but good luck with that shit hitting you back for lets say 8 damage consistently. Also she should be able to mimic your heroes skills since she is a dummy.
Then there will be monkeys with annoying shit like surprise boxes that after being sprung will block a death blow attack on enemy by launching some stupid shit at you or those motherfucking cymbals that start with low stress damage like 5 but doubling it on consecutive hits to 10, 20 and futher speeding up your heart to burst.

Fuck that, this isn't pre-camp nerf DD anymore.Camping is the single most useful thing you're given on any medium or long mission, make the most of it.

I've always thought that dungeon events would be a cool idea. For example there can be a flooding in Cove that happens in a alway. While flooded you have a set amount of time before you start drowning. Then imagine meeting a party of 2 tralls and some other shit, try to rush it and make mistake- tralls explode, be to slow and share their destiny.
>>170116739
>all your dudes are buffed as shit
>one shot monster encounter without giving them the chance to stack stress nor dmg
???
>>170116759
Yeah but what about doing art and all the sounds, it's not as fun without those. Also there should be a mode support in the future so both modding game and installing mods would be much easier. Currently there is too much shit that either limits you or gets in your way constantly.
>>170116828
Reminds me of Unlimited Saga with the optional adventures all having a set action limit between field skills, movement, and object interactions.
>>170111320Totally random jump scare while in the dungeon.
>>170116979
Mod support should actually be pretty soon. They said it was coming before DLC and CC is next month.
>>170116979
I can do the art no problem m8, in any case the sounds could be a problem

>>170099395

Which ones? Because without trinkets there;s a 54% chance for either of the Occultist's debuffs to land; Cursed Incense alone pretty much guarantees its application.

>champion shambler
Just when I thought when this is the best shuffle party I have come across, Shambler almost made me lose two or all my heroes. If anything, those fucking tentacles are impossible. Maybe if they introduce a hero that can wipe out enemy buffs or rework a skill like so, would make shambler less of a death sentence.
Cutegookmanga. Althrough there's a bit too much shipping.

Why does Highwayman hate Grave Robber? They have great leap frog synergy with their lunges.
>>170126465
I can dig this. I can totally dig this. Is there more?
>>170127295
He doesn't hate her. Quite the opposite, just can't express it openly and that's all I'm going to say.
Reading this is pretty amusing stuff since the art is good and even through I can't read it, the humor's mostly visual that it's easy to get the gist of.
>>170127346
This is all I've found from the author. I have no idea how to navigate the site to search for more. Maybe he has the other chapters/fanart on a personal blog/site.

Mostly GRxHWM stuff. Worth a read, too sugary for some people through.

I just wandered into the site, looking for fanart/reaction pics to fill my folder.
>>170127924
Oh shit this author has good taste is GR. Shame she's such a pussy when she's about to get sacked, she has some good Death's Door lines.
>>170127924
Why does HWM look so young, isn't he supposed to be a weathered old bandit in his 40-ish?
>>170128463
Because it's manwha
>>170128463
It's probably the strong contrast in styles and the Artist's personal tastes. Given how these anime-esque styles work I could see this HWM being in his 30s. He does seem like his 40s in game, but it could also just be the really hard life aging him prematurely.
>>170127924
Shame it bothers him, she seems like she's pretty alright with it.

while building my Jester for max dodge against the Hag, it made me wonder if you buff your dodge up to over 100 does it eventually make it impossible for enemies to hit you?
>>170135486
Accuracy and dodge cap at 90%. There is always a chance something will hit you or that you will hit something.

any way to make turn the intros off?

Boy I sure loved the Chimerae in DMC4!AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
>>170142330
PD truly is best waifu, even in places where plague resistance is high she still can contribute a ton of good shit to pretty much any team comp. If her heal was Arbelast-tier she would be legitimately broken.
>>170108014
I had an idea about a WW1 themed dungeon running around my head for a while. Units would include undead/half dead infantry with light damage + stress attacks that target varying amounts of the party, cavalry who have low defense but high speed and forward charges that reduce dodge + prot of heroes, officers who grant cavalry + infantry damage bonuses and can command them "over the top", driving them all forward with heavy damage attacks to the frontlines and large stress, machine gunners who stay immobile but build up speed as they attack, gaining 2 actions per turn after a certain amount of turns and can debuff heroes with an acc+speed+dodge malus as a suppressing fire attack. Boss would be a gas-based artillery unit with AoE gas attacks (chlorine = heavy blight, mustard = heavy bleed, "white cross" vomiting agent which stuns + reduces DoT resistance). To combat the gas, there'd be a DD2 style trinket system that reduces the damage of gas attacks that could be found all over the dungeon to encourage exploration (possibly with gas masks of varying qualities - chemical soaked rags for minimal benefits to full on gas mask for immunities). Could introduce a few thematic quirks/diseases too but I haven't thought too much about those.
I know it doesn't fit in the context of the DD story but I feel like DD has all the right mechanics for such a zone. If only I had any time of modding experience...

Party Relationships and interactions
> Have original A Team of Vestal, PD, Hiighwayman and Crusader
> Healers gets higher heals on everyone in their "bonded" party and can "riposte heal" when an ally gets dangerously low
> DPS Heroes do a bit more damage within their bonded group.
> If you put healers with a different group for the first time they heal less. If you put DPS heroes with a different group for the first time they do a bit less damage.
> When anyone that gets knocked to death's door in a strong bonded team, everyone gains higher damage and a full party riposte whenever the person on DD gets hit in an attempt to save them.
> If they die, everyone suffers greater stress and gain a massive stress increase debuff.
>If someone's entire bonded party dies except for them, they may attempt to suicide in Town due to grief.
i was powerleveling my plague doctor and died like a little bitch
lost both trinkets
any way to get them back? i had to retreat from the fight
>>170146847
If they're non-unique trinkets then you can just find more of them, if they are then you can get them back by beating an event boss mission involving something called "The Shrieker".
>>170146847
>>170146923
Sorry m8 I meant to spoiler that just in case, but I'm very tired and hit post without thinking.
>>170146487
Seems like an interesting mechanic. I wouldn't mind it. As for the lone survivor maybe its a 50/50 chance they will end themselves or persevere for their comrades.
>>170145657
God damn, congrats. Thats some excellent Dungeoneering pal
>>170147220
Thanks m8. I think week 63 is pretty good for my first time trying a quicker run and getting those two achievements. I was set back a little after failing my first DD1 attempt, but after that I blew through the rest of them in a row. I'm starting to think that, with proper preparation and party set up, DD2 might actually be far easier than people think it is.
>>170146996
the event boss is not up, oh well
they were 2 plague doctor trinkets and ive hardly seen those so im pretty sad
>>170147779
You'll have to wait for it to come via a town event. If can auto-spawn if you party wipe, but you have to be careful with that otherwise you might spawn a level of it that you're not prepared to deal with. Its difficulty scales with the rarity of your trinkets lost.
>>170147909
i killed a horrid shrieker once but thats it because he stole 8 of my trinkets
ill probably just have to look for the vendor and dungeons to replace those trinkets, im really sad
i accidentally ran into a collector and my team was pretty low level and the adds killed my doctor really fast
shouldve ran
feels bad
>>170147985
You'll be fine m8. there are no losses you can't come back from.
>>170148052
well i fucked up big time earlier on because i was leveling like 5 different classes and nothing else so i dont have half of the classes you need to clear the entire game
now im trying to damage-control and plague doc was my first newly leveled class but i fucked up so yeah it will take some time to get everything up to 6 and clear the darkest dungeon
