The thing that bothers me is not the divine spirit thing itself, but how they handled Ishtar. She's neither one nor the other.

The mannerisms and face are Rin's, but she never acknowledges Rin Tohsaka or her life and her reaction to Emiya is completely generic. If you wanted "What would be Rin's reaction to [X]", you're not getting it.

The backstory and memories are 100% Ishtar, only we don't get a new design and it's repeatedly mentioned that the fusion heavily toned down her worst character traits, so we don't even get her real characterization either.

Then Waver then gets to be 100% Waver even though a year and a half in, we still have no fucking explanation as to how he came to be or when he fused with Zhuge or why. Sure, he's himself a ripoff because you're not getting the real Zhuge either, but at least it's 100% Waver instead of a halfway-there mixture that doesn't really fulfill either side.

F/GO had Fuyuki and Orléans at launch, FEH has 9 chapters you can clear in half an hour. 3 hours if you do the hard and expert mode. After that all that left is the arena, but the system is fucked since it's based around the sum of your units stats, so you need strong and leveled units (5*) but if you do so you end up fighting +10 Takumeme and Hector for days.

Its complicated. Irish myth's sources are primarily a small number of texts that were transcribed by people who likely modified the actual oral traditions a fair bit (in some cases we have blatant evidence of it), and then there's a lot of modern re-interpretations or additions to the canon that have sorta been accepted by the wider public or just get confused with the ''original'' records of the myths - like the works of William Butler Yeats in regards to Cu, which I've seen referenced on here a few times despite them not really being actual myth so much as literary works based on it.

Cu did some dumb and some fucked up shit, but ultimately he was meant to be a heroic figure who was well-meaning and fucked over by circumstances.
Plus Irish myth is a lot more receptive to making people have major flaws without it compromising their status as a hero than quite a few other mythologies so even besides the values dissonance and likely edits going on, his mistakes aren't meant to be taken as harshly as they are.
