As for critique, I have a few pointers:
-I'm not sure about how you draw snouts. There's something about it I really like, but at the same time, it seems a little off. I think the issue is that it seems just a little too think and too much like it's protruding out of their face. I'm sorry, I know this advice is a little vague. Feel free to take itwith a grain of salt.
-Their legs seem off. They seem too thin, and something seems off about the posture. It's okay if the fact that the knees are bent is an artistic choice to reflect the way goat legs are compared to human legs, but the anatomy still seems off to me, somehow.

Anyways, keep at it. You're doing good.

The bit that got to me the most was definitely the Photoshop Flowey fight when I did the pacifist run the first time. I got to it at about 2 AM, and the boss actually horrified me (the TV's off-putting faces in particular) and filled me with panic. I died to him a couple of times and really didn't wanna keep rebooting the game as I knew what expected me, but my friend whom I was chatting with at the time kept pushing me. After dying about 5 times I finally managed to get the first soul and from there got the rest without dying. When Finale started playing as the souls healed me up at the end made me genuinely cry as I was filled with determination and defeated Flowey.
In hindsight the fight obviously isn't difficult at all, and PF's design is rather more weird than scary, but as tired as I was at the time it really did struck me.
Then I got the true ending later that night as well, cried some more at the Asriel fight, but the Photoshop Flowey first impression definitely takes the cake for me.

Hi Anon!
Im making a fangame, because for the games I want to make in the future, I'm going to have to get a little experience under my belt, so this is great practice. UTG gives amazing criticism, so any ideas or designs I have doubts about, I can get instant feedback.
Coding is one of the hardest things I've delved into, because progress is slow, and it's hard to tell if there's been any at all until you've actually made a decent amount.
No matter what language you use, they're agonizingly picky about how you write, where each symbol goes, and it fucking sucks coding alone, and honestly, I agree anon, it's hard to get back into it sometimes.
I've thought about just trashing the whole idea, but then when I get a piece of code working that I've been struggling over for days, or I add another piece to the story that just clicks, and I want to keep going.
Plus now that people know about it, I cant pussy out now. Then Id be yet another wannabe game dev with unfulfilled promises.
It's not going to be for everyone, or live up to a lot of people's standards, but at least it's new content. Its something I made for the community to enjoy, and even if they didnt, it's something they can tear apart. Either way, it's something I look forward to because that's part of the payoff of actually finishing it.

Sure I'm doing it for me, but mainly, I want to give something back to this fandom, specifically /utg/. I don't want to get sappy, but this place has given me such a great experience, and I love coming here. Sure I draw, but I want to give something people can enjoy over and over (not to mention redeem what originally was an objectively good AU idea).
As for getting started, I just go by what Bruce Lee said “motivation is fleeting, discipline is reliable”. You want to make something? Fuckin make it Anon, because no one else can create what you have in mind. Sure they can have similar ideas, but you're the one with the goods, Anon. Just start, write down your story, ideas, level layouts, all of it! Get a good visual idea of what you want, and then start coding. If you tell me what program you're using, I can direct you to some great tutorials and resource sites

Coding is probably the only skill for this I have.
I have a dart board with a semicolon on it so at least I have something to smile about after one foils my plans.
As for art I've been getting by taping things together. That might work for a fan game but I think I can only avoid that grind for so long before I start doing making designs my own characters and whatnot.
Music has been a hobby of mine for a little while, like most of this process I feel toying with Toby's stuff will give good experience before I try composing.
I think I work hard, it's been a while since I worked on something I was passionate about but when I did I gave it my all.
