Like, what are you up to /smtg/?

What would you like to see in the new SMT either gameplaywise or storywise?

I'd really like to see different overworlds, starting from before everything goes to shit, and with the last ones being demon worlds. It'd be nice to see fully working worlds of both allignments. They should also be a bit more interesting than what they currently are, I'd rather it weren't even a world map, and instead we got smaller interconnected areas.

Another thing I'd love to see but I already assume will never happen is for demons to be associated with those from their own culture instead of randomly popping up anywhere. I'm tired of only Abrahamic figures interacting among themselves.

Nocturne is a lot of people's first foray into the series outside of Persona, especially before IV came out. They didn't know how to get something that drains force or to get that one magatama. You can definitely "generic JRPG skills" the game up until Matador. But if you know how Press Turn works it's not that bad.

I find it funny how people complain about the PSP version being so different when its almost exactly like the original japanese version which is obviously the original XD... Mostly only complain the music though i guess... Probably just proves how obviously important soundtracks are :3... Too bad i friggin love the PSP version soundtrack X3... A lot of the songs and more importantly the dungeon themes O.O... Oh and Confrontation and Bloody Destiny are the shit >.>... But Revelations` battle theme is definitely better 8D... A bit into Soul Hackers (about to face the rocker dude for the second time). Is everything supposed to be glass cannony? It seems every fight is dependent on whether Nemissa can nuke the enemies first or if they get her first since she's so squishy. MC is borderline useless and my other demons don't seem to do much, Zeed especially (who I think is supposed to be some form of permanent companion).

Besides, you can build the protags however you want. I personally go for a fast glass canon Nemissa so she can always go first to revive and heal if needed. The Hacker has very limited skills, but they're still really useful, because at some points later on, you'll always need him to use items or to summon more demons.
Tarukaja is also excellent, since even if the MC is not ST based, he can do great damage with it.

Well, there's no denying that Nemissa is the absolute best damage dealer of the game, since you can min-max her stats.
But I think it's a lot more convenient to actually build good parties of demons, so you can potentially buff Nemissa's attacks, exploit weaknesses for elements she doesn't have or let her attack in tandem with physical demons and Hacker, and also to don't let her waste turns with heals and revives.

Do you mean specifically SMT or just MegaTen? Go download and play Nocturne off the Playstation Store if you have a PS3. Heard there are some minor audio synching issues with Digital Devil Saga 1 and 2 but their still pretty playable.

Also if you have a 3DS get the Overclocked and Record Breaker versions of DeSU 1 and 2 and Strange Journey and Soul Hackers as well.

Where's Strange Journey and Soul Hackers? The former here is basically an updated remake of SMT 1 and 2. Only thing it lacks is a proper Press Turn System in it. If you like EO games and first person dungeon crawling SJ is heavily recommended for getting into the main series, Devil Survivor series is more squad-based strategy mingled in with RPG mechanics and a Fate system which decides your end game routes and results.
