Atlas Bear lets you do big single axe hits consistently but you'll always be a slow piece of shit who can't dodge and who constantly gets stunned from getting hit while out of stamina.

On top of that I'm pretty sure being able to spam high stance attacks with Kato's extra ki & ki regen out-damages bear's single hits anyway. And on top of THAT, bear gimps your ability to use battle focus + mad spinner II, which is axe's highest dps ability. And Kato also gives you 13 extra stat points to spend on something useful.

I used it every time and it took 30 runs till I got one.

I then proceeded to get 2 within an hour farming the Request for Ginchiyo soon afterwords, I don't know if that was due to a higher drop rate or the RNG fucking with me.

FINALLY GOT ONE. Was forging like over 2k bizen kats and decided to switch to something else, got this in about 300-400 tries.

Couple notes on everything

>damage of increase if I soul matched my +8 to this 320 was around a 40% damage increase. So 320's bout 40% more damage over the 150 form.

Mystic arts are specific to that weapon but the regular passives work all the time.

So you can have the axe passive for reduced damage while critical, spear for extra damage, sword for ki regen, etc. All will work.

I was just doing that mission in ng+ and got stutters as well, but before that was doing the side mission where you go through three grassy areas until you end up in the little spot where you fight Muneshige and suffered a complete stop that lasted about two seconds.
