Depends. Montagne is helpful all around, He can do good with a coordinated team and without one. Blitz can do okay without a coordinated team but in high levels of play he's essentially useless because people can either aim past your shield or even if you flashbang them they can keep firing and have a chance to kill you or run away before you can follow up. Montagne will be helpful in higher levels of play even though both of them have some clipping issues right now.

Hey /r6g/, an update on the shotgun analysis. Finished off all the pump actions for now until I can get more than one person for Rook armor tests, and that will be to test if Rook armor even makes a difference in the max kill ranges for 1 and 2 armors. Tonight I'll finally start working on semi-autos and finding out just how garbage they really are.

As you might have expected, you shouldn't be using the ITA-12S outside of point blank. The wide spread had trouble killing a one armor while aiming down sights at 5m. One thing that surprised me is that a 2 armor was killed at 4m, only having 3 out of 8 pellets hit. Usually when I see 4 out of 8 pellets hit there's a good chance they're still standing.

If you would like to help fill out this spreadsheet and eventually have a video on the subject released, please join the co-op games room in the teamspeak. I can't do this alone and I'm especially in need of a group to facilitate testing Rook armor on recruits. You don't need a mic to participate.

From what I've seen, trapdoors tend to break more consistently if you fire at them from the side, at a low angle. It's like they're triggered to break by how much of their model is broken away, and firing at a surface from the side at a shallow angle with a shotgun tends to deal the most damage.

Once you get into plat/diamond there is no longer any reason to play ranked. You are already at your peak. You're just going to be stressed running into hackers, premades, and streamers looking to be the best at this game.

So you just go to casual and pub stomp the shit out of people that suck. Why would you queue in a Beta™ game mode to face people of your skill level when you have a 9/10 chance of being able to crush people in casual?

Ranked is legitimately only good for people who are bad at this game. It lets them play vs other bad people and not have to worry about what I said above.

Multisample AA can cause blurriness if you use the non-MSAA option or temporal filtering if you have MFAA enabled in your Nvidia control panel, but other than that no.
Post processing AA is the shit you want to avoid like the plague, that shit blurs everything.
AO is subjective. SSBC doesn't make anything look worse for me, just adds visual depth and natural contrast at no apparent cost of visibility, but I know HBAO can bathe whole areas in shadows making enemies really hard to see in certain map locations.
Depth of field only affects the weapon model directly, it doesn't bleed into the rest of your view. Only time it affects the env is in the kill-cams/zoom-in.

The skillgap in gold 1-2 is a bit large currently because of the fact everyone's being shoved into it and even proplayers/previous diamonds were getting smacked out of plat back in, but in my experience there's little difference between the average gold player and the average bronze other than better map knowledge.
My advice to you is to watch some better players streams or youtube vids to pick up on strategy, if you learn how to aggressive roam you'll be acing a lot; shit, Serenity placed bronze which is why he's cranking out so many vids as of late.

Is there anything wrong with the PC servers right now?

The game connects me like normal when I first start it up and get to the main menu. It stays connected even while I sit there for a while.
The game lets me start searching in matchmaking, even matches me with a few people, but always loses connection after 30-40 seconds of searching.
And all of the people that it matches me with never have their picture or any of their level or rank info displayed, just their name.

Is this on my end?

It's a completely different game. From what I saw of the Xbox finals at The Invitational it seems the game is much slower and forgiving. The strats aren't as evolved/seem to be more about setting yourself up to be somewhere they enemy can't turn around fast enough to aim at you. PC is a lot more about using the destructibility to avoid fighting into strong angles. At lower (Pub) levels the standard of aim is still so much higher than console that the game can turn into a battle of attrition where you attempt to poke and prod the other team and pick apart their plan but with no real coordination to overcome strong D. It's much less forgiving and firefights are - for the most part - decided by headshot in under a second.

I never actually tried R6S on console. But I have played a lot of Overwatch on both PS4 and PC, so that's where my comparison would come from.
When people have asked me before, I've said that they just feel like different games, not better or worse, just different. Like the difference between ice hockey and inline hockey. Probably not a reference that many people will get, but it's a good analogy.
A mouse can let you aim better. That doesn't mean that you will. PC controls just give you the tools to do well, so it becomes all the more infuriating when people don't take advantage of them. Players on PC aren't necessarily better. They're still fucking dumb, and do stupid shit. They mistime attacks, forget that they have abilities, set their mouse sensitivity too high and aim worse than they would with a controller. All kinds of stuff.
If anything, console players are far better about actually communicating and working together. They care about working as a team, for the good of the team. They're not nearly as stubborn or selfish as PC players.
Again, this is all relative. You'll have good and bad teammates on both systems.
