If you liked the original Homeworld 1 no, I hated it. They do alot of things differently because the new company shoved all the bullshit HW2 engine into the HW1 game. So you are limited to what you can salvage, so many fucking bug you won't believe this is the same game, the game is also dumbed down alot (10x less enemies compared to the original HW). Basically it's a bad game. If you liked HW1 just play HW1 or cataclysm.

How early can you get them? The biggest factor in winning is to get resources as quickly as possible early game. growth in CoE is an exponential factor and the earlier you get resources the better. Cultists can summon VERY early and alot of troops that are competitive with 5iron troops from cities. mid/late game it's very easy to summon a lv2 mage + 20 troops with 2 (or was it 3) protection. I've been fighting Baron level AI and cultists have never lost me a game yet.

I figured it out!

You have the XP shape that gives better forms but items will act as your mutations. I can even randomize what these items do using that spell mod.

So your form 2 cave crab goes home and picks out a new armor. This new armor could cast fly, summon an ice elemental, make him ethereal, or whatever.

Chasis:
Erfsnek is probably a good choice, but so goddamn boring.
One of the Annukai ones? Annukai of Love and War (no boot slot, but awe) and Annukai of the Morning Star both seem like nice picks and have midgame SC capabilities.
Order and growth seem like a must. Slot something like 2?

Paths:
Some sort of Earth Bless would be great since most of your mages are sacred. A4 for Winged Helmet -> Staff of Storms so your Gudus can T-Strike Spam? I mean you'll have lots of those because Earth Meld looks like your bread and butter early combat spell.

Scales:
Order 3, Growth 3 seems a must with how expensive everything is. Sloth 2 is probably tolerable (?) and Heat 3 for free points (?).

Blood you could empower people to build up a blood economy, and eventually aim for vampires, I guess? Going for soul contracts might also be an option, but that'd need high blood magic on your pretender, or high construction to forge blood boosters for him.

Fire is less useful. Flaming arrows might be handy for Ur's longbowmen. Lategame you can summon flame spirits and do useful fire magic with them in combat (e.g. fire storm, flame storm).

No, it cannot. Ur has no native fire income and no recruitable blood mages. You can't mass soul contracts with just 1 (one) blood mage, who also happens to be your pretender and your only F sitesearcher. Stop theorycrafting and play the nation you're giving advice on instead.

Soul contracts take 4 fire gems with a hammer. You don't need an amazing fire income to forge them.

For blood, spend your first 100 slaves on a couple of scouts so you're not just using your pretender to bloodhunt.

Obviously this is going to be a lot slower than a nation like Abysia running soul contracts, but your only investment here is your pretender. This isn't your primary strategy, it's something useful for your pretender to do after expansion.

This is what I roll with. A4E4 is a great mage bless, and the A4 does really help with air boosters and T-strike spam. Order and growth are essential, since Ur's very money-hungry. Heat 3 is tolerable. Magic 3 is great since you have very spammable mage-priests that you'll have researching en-masse. A flying god that's able to cast storm, EQ, RoS, fog warriors, etc. is very handy.

bloodhunt with the cheapest blood dudes you have with sanguine dowsing rods, in provinces with 5-8k population. Have a lab in the province. Have a patroller in the province with either flying troops or low upkeep chaff like wolves. Call of the Wind is an ideal spell to summon patrollers. This will give you a pretty good blood economy if you have enough hunters in enough provinces, depending on what you want to do with it.

The issue is said players tend to move toward playing anon in games - its getting pretty common to be surprise malakal'd at this point.

Also, pretty sure Okofire had no diplomatic skills (or any other skills) to neuter.

How do Horror Marks actually work? A few of my mages got attacked by the enemy Pretender in a province, and got wiped out, but before they did so they spammed him with approximately 35 Horror Marks.

Is this a good result or a bad result, what will come of this?

Erf Snek with additional air may be expensive but memey.Can get you a minor A, and some A booster for your mages. Also trapeezing RoS snek sounds super fun.

I've also seen several players use Shedus where they expand just fine, then once they hit Alt 4 become crazy strong early midgame units with body ethereal, ironskin, and temper flesh. And add in some summon earth power with it's 3 encumbrance you can wreck armies that don't have magic weapons or strong mage support yet.

But its seems like as the game says the more you get horror marked the worse it is. From my experience horror assassins will eventually show up, and the more you beat the stronger they get until it start sending doom horrors like the eater of gods.

Not taking an awake pretender on Summod Ur sees like a huge waste. You may be able to expand decently with scales by foreign recruiting an ungodly amount of long bows, but scales and an A4 bless don't seem worth it. Those air boosters won't mean shit if you can't expand decently

Their troops have shit defenses and big guys with single attacks means you won't kill troops fast enough before you eat lots of damage.

I'm more of a "build pretender fod mid/lategame" guy, so that makes it hard for it. Having a pretender that can SC and drop nice bufs sounds good if you don't have to worry about afflictions, recalling and pathloss, but I guess Awake Expander is still the superior option.
