No. Ar nosurge+ is the sequel to Ciel nosurge but the game was meant for new players to jump in due to Ciel nosurge being next to impossible to import. Ar nosurge+ provides a glossary and proper exposition for 99% of what happens in-game; playing Ciel nosurge just gives you some insight into literally only a few lines in-game which reference shenanigans from back then and that's it.

Pretty much, Xseed hired a third party two man team to translate TiTs. The only thing they had TLed before was an indie game but for some reason xseed gave them the project instead of TLing it themselves. Why? Why if you are a translation/localization would you hire some experianceless hacks to TL one of your biggest prossible releases? I have no idea. But not only did Xseed give these people the project, they also never bothered to check if those people were actually doing any work, so about a year passes before xseed even realized that the person TLing tits had a mental break down because he was in over his head.


TLDR. Xseed hired some literal nobody to tl tits for them instead of doing it in house and never bothered to check if that person was doing their job. Surprise! they weren't !

Which is a lie: Ar nosurge barely gives you insight on Ciel's events, skips over the entirety of Ion's character development, and gives no explanation into the character relationships and motivations, leading to their interactions feeling weird and their goals making no sense if you aren't familiar with them from Ciel. I own the original Stranger of Sword City on Vita, I was wondering if I should bother replacing it with Revisited. How different are the two games, and does it make Revisited superior/definitive?

Originally, the update was just going to have some balance changes and a new class + scenario. Due to some errors in the master copy, they couldn't implement it as dlc without creating a new fucking game in the process so they just decided to sell the definitive version with even more content and scenarios.

There are more endings, classes, and tons of QoL changes made. There was a list detailing the differences somewhere but I can't remember if it was Neofag or leddit and I don't want to go to either.

This is why I'm always so confused over people saying Sony stopped supporting the system. Yeah they skipped out on 1st party titles earlier than usual, but it received so much 3rd party support that it almost ended up overtaking the top spot for largest console library.
To top it off, they're still doing anti-piracy measures and bug fixes for everything they can while creating Vita LEs and showcasing Vita things at events.
