I hate how fucking sporadic these stamina costs are in the RK core realms. I have to actually search every area for a low stamina dungeon so I don't have to use 3/4ths of it in one dungeon for 2 stamina shards. You guys said to just spam core dungeons but this is getting really tidus only being able to run one dungeon and then have to wait for hours until I can do another.

It's tough, but if you have a Luka or a Tilith on the side I suggest leveling them up. I managed to do the no white magic run with 6* Luka at Lvl 71. Was tough but somehow managed.

As someone who played both games in my 20s, 6 first followed by 5, I agree. 6 has generally more more interesting characters, writing, and questlines but the battle system is only OK, especially since some characters are obviously shittier than others.

Whereas even if the characters for 5 are kinda bland depending on the translation, the job system makes battles extremely fun rather than a grind, and it has you coming back for more.

Alright, I guess I'll try to explain my opinion after all.
As I said, it is is probably an unpopular opinion that telling people to ignore a troll is, generally speaking, counter-productive. Especially the whole "telling people" part which just both displays the displeasure a troll would want, and is weak enough that it doesn't make them feel like the fell and hit the ground at all.
THAT is the sort of thing a troll wants. For people to actively say "shut the fuck up".

But any way, it does depend on a lot of factors like what motivates them and if they actually are a troll or not.
Ignoring a troll is good if you just can't be bothered or if you have nothing to add, but making it an inflexible rule to ignore a poster is stupid.

Some 'trolls', if they even are trolls, will feel fucking retarded or annoyed/bored after a while and eventually stop if you respond with actual arguments.

Not saying anything is the same as responding or saying nothing in that they'll likely just continue.

So, basically what should happen IMO if someone says something retarded and you can be assed to respond is (generally) something like this:
Point it out and provide feedback that they're being a fuckhead.
Other commenters maybe point out other things if they have something to add.

When you run out of things to say and all that's left is pure redundant ad hominem, its over.
That's how you handle a troll.
Anything else defeats discussion and encourages a lack of feedback.

I've never been a big fan of JRPGs or FF. I played X ages ago on PS2 for maybe 30-40 hours but never finished it. Never really liked the endless menu combat outside of Pokemon games and I got tired of those years ago.

But every time these games go on sale I'm tempted to try again. Right now I'm looking at the X/X-2 bundle or XII + a sequel or two. Any of those stand out over the rest? Or am I about to waste my money.

X-2 has a good ability/magic system, but is mostly for horny teenagers.
Not a good plot to it or anything. I'd say don't bother with it if you're trying to look for something that, say, other fans generally enjoy.
Unless its cheaper to buy it as a bundle (I haven't checked). Then I guess do whatever. But just know that X-2 is not the most definitive FF game.

Avoid V and VI because those are mobile ports, emulate those if you want to play them. III and IV are DS ports so those are somewhat better. I'd recommend the PSP version of IV though.

XIII okay I guess, not the greatest ever. I don't know anything about XIII-2 or LR though. Also the normal version of X is better look than the Remaster.

VII, VIII, and IX are pretty faithful though.

X isn't bad, but 4, 6 and 7 (maybe 5? I haven't got the chance to play it for more than a few minutes years ago...) are where the meat of the series comes from. 8 is also usually considered good, but they made some mistakes with the mechanics like global level scaling and not encouraging you to use magic as magic.
Final Fantasy Tactics is also good, but its a different style of game.

Once your done with part 1 of the game, which is HOURS of gameplay mind you, you get the lovely gift of having to play over that same shit again.
After that, guess what happens? You play that first fucking part AGAIN.

When you get to the point in question, it will seem so cool and interesting for a little while like oh yeah this mechanics gonna be so awesome but its not.. its just fucking not.
God forbid if you're unlucky like me and had your cartridge destroyed or your saves corrupted, as you will most definitely never play it again.

Please, I'm begging you, do not play Bravely Default. Save yourself from the pain and trauma.
