Why is trying to kill soldiers so fucking soul crushing as Lawbringer?

Lights don't combo
Heavies are lucky if they kill two
Zone seems to randomly pick from 1-5 soldiers to die, no matter how many are actually in range

And then I watch a warden wade in and kill hundreds of soldiers per attack.

PKs get their stab back, guard break counters will get a bigger window, and valks are officially being buffed (in a big way)

I play Valk now and while I do get frustrated, I don't think she needs a buff.
The only thing I have an issue with is how impossible it is for her to beat a Warlord who refuses to attack, whenever I face them they just sit there and full guard, light attack or GB, then they just roll away and wait for attack again until I fuck up enough times that I die or the round ties.

How do I beat Kensei as Warden? He just feels better than me in every way. Feels like he has more range, damage, health, and speed. Those are the three top-tier classes before Peacekeeper gets fixed. We will see how strong Valk is after her buffs come through.

Lawbringer is pretty decent, but his playstyle is weird and relies on bullying low-stamina targets, lacking much options to confirm or combo attacks. He is about controlling the enemy and killing them little by little with their own mistakes.

I don't care what it takes as long as the character can apply it so easily and consistently that it might as well be a passive effect on every attack. Point is, assassins and nobushis hard counter Valks unless the latter is just vastly more skilled than the former. Assassins only have to circle dodge me and spam light attacks, throw in a couple guard breaks and i'm dead. Nobushi spams the same 5 hit combo and i'm nearly dead without me having any chance of ever getting close even if i get a running heavy first hit.

You do most of your damage by gb followed by a side heavy. Overhead light poke is also good since it's so fast.
This almost always works in low level duels due to people not knowing how to tech gbs.
At high level i just play more passively and try to empty my opponent's stamina with shoves and hope they miss their counter gbs.
Against assassins use feints a LOT, then parry their side attacks.

My only loss was against a godlike pk, if you ever encounter someone like that just give up. Other than that i just fought a shit ton of orochis and learned that using overhead guard makes them unable to engage safely, other than that i just learned to parry. Since lb is so slow at changing guard you need to get gut at parrying the enemy's first attack and punish them with a gb -> side heavy.
