It's been getting better since the U6 arc but the new arc is looking to be the best so far. A bunch of new interestingly designed characters, they've added some shit to their artstyle that makes it looks more like traditional cel drawings, and everyone is properly buff like they should have been the whole time. I was done watching Secret Life of Pets. Now I imagined all the mobian characters are regular animals doing the whole "animals does things you wouldn't expect" cliche.

Why? Colors was the first time that Sonic and Tails interacted like actual friends, rather than Tails just being a sidekick with nothing important to say. The dialogue finally feels natural, rather than the stilted catchphrases of the 4Kids era.

Everyone shits on Lost World's story, too. I thought it was great. Sonic and Tails fight, there's an Eggman teamup that actually has some unease rather than the endings of SA2, Heroes, and 06, and there's the great bit near the end where Sonic is faced with losing all that he cares for. It's a solid story.

I don't get it. I'd take a thousand "Baldy McNosehair"s over:

Never judge anything by concept, only execution. The story in Colors was passable but Gens was a fumble and LW didn't just fumble but ate shit trying to scramble and save it.

So, uh... did Archie just forget about the Genesis Portals? It seemed like Ian and Evan were building them up to be a big thing after the Shattered World Crisis, but we haven't heard from them in awhile.

Also, Silver is still chilling out in 21XX, according to the timeline, so, I wonder how that's going.

I blame nostalgia. It's different from what they grew up with, and what they grew up with was the kind of "dark and cool" stuff that pre-teens think is the hypest shit ever. Once the nostalgia goggles come off, it's clear that Colors, Lost World, and Generations are just plain better written and don't feel like they're trying to be cool.
