I think they said winter this year so kinda far away. There's still the fan-translated version but the quality of the steam one is higher. As a counterpoint to that, even the fan-translated MLA has a fucking great production value which still holds up to this day, the only thing I'd complain about is it not having a CG viewer.

Came here about a week ago, completely new to VNs and such and as per your recommendations I played Katawa Shoujo and a little bit of Grisaia. I finished three routes in KS, Hanako's was my favorite. Emi "a shit" as you guys say. Student president was hard to get as apparently you "comfort her friend" by fucking her into oblivion. That was neat, but not what I wanted. Couldn't get into Grisaia with such a Mary Sue protagonist.

What length would you guys say KS is? I'm looking for another VN or similar playtime and definitely more different girls and personalities. Also more route choices, that maybe lead to different endings?

Yuzusoft VNs though are probably a good example of a general moege. Mostly because the devs are literally "safe choices only" and while generally don't end up trying anything out there, they tend to be generic.

Moeges are generally really cutesy, tend to be character-centered VNs rather than story-centered, and for the most part don't tend to do anything weird like Nukiges (Nip word for literally its all for the porn) and plotges (Weeb word for story-centered VN. F/SN is literally the point-to example.)

Relationships are not between the girl and nothing. They're between the girl and MC. Not you. The MC. For the relationship to be good, both characters have to fulfill a role. The MC can take a backseat while the girl shines. Of course. That's what a lot of moege do. But a bad MC can be in the forefront and ruin all dialogue. He's in every conversation. The girls are talking to him. A bad MC can ruin the dialogue, and thus ruin a lot of the girls dialogue.

Note: Haven't read Hatsukoi 1/1. No clue if it's this bad. But I have read games with really bad MCs. And it ruins everything, even if the girls are good.
