As far as these special daily mission things that reward 1* and 2* versions of a character:

If I already have a 3*+ version from summon is there a point to doing either of these stages or is it just a waste of 15 stamina? And if I don't have the character is there any reason to do the 1* stage or is a waste of 5 stamina?

Here's an example of why she is bad using my own units.

Camilla has 38 attack which is the average roll. Nowi has 33 defense. Camilla gets 4x attack when it's her turn to attack but because her strength is so low she's only doing 5 damage each hit. So in her perfect scenario where she outspeeds a blue enemy she is doing 20 damage then counting the type advantage it's actually 24 damage. Camilla has to put herself into an incredibly dangerous position to do slightly over 50% health.

Now lets look at my level 32 Nino who only has 2 less damage than the average Camilla while being 8 levels lower and not having the additional 5 damage from having her 5 star weapon. She's also outspeeding Camilla while being 8 levels lower but that doesn't even really matter because Nino's damage can be buffed even further with a unit like Nowi to give her an additional 4 damage so if I balance my team around bringing buffs I can get up to 20 extra damage and just one shot units instead of taking the counter attack. Her defense is low which makes her vulnerable to archers but unlike Camilla she doesn't need to go into the frontline to fight so she won't need to hide in a corner until the board is clear of Takumis.

Nino is also supplying the team with a damage buff to everyone around her which becomes +4 at 5 star while Camilla is completely selfish and contributes nothing to the team as a whole.

That's kind of a shitty comparison because Camilla and Nino have completely different functions. Like you said, Camilla is a pretty selfish character. That is, she's one that you supplement, in this case with buffs and debuffs. All Brave weapon users are similar in that regard. I will say that based on my time with Raven, another Brave user, she's likely the kind of character that's better when player controlled and not one I'd trust to AI. Characters like Takumi, Hector, and Lobster whom are huge balls of stats get a lot of mileage because they're just hard to fuck up.

What? She's great in Fates, even if she's a bit on the slow side. She has enough bulk to fight on the front, can double as a decent magic user with the magic dust that no one else should be using, gets the utility of flying, and levels up fast as a prepromote to stay relevant on your team.

She is a little slow and takes extra damage from multiple sources, but that's an issue that stems from her starting class.

MY Robin started as a 3*. He is now LVL 40 4*, you can preview their 5* stats before promoting them. When I put these preview stats into the calculator the DEF is a regular minus and the ATK is lower than the options let me select. He has no plus stat either.
