I'm running what will probably settle into a 10/35/50 str/skl/blt, using chikage and bowblade. Short version, if you're going to use either one of those, it should probably be a secondary to a str/blt weapon that you only use tricked. Untricked chikage works fine for most PvE and maneuver fighting when you need your gun ready, but with your build I'd probably leave it as a secondary for full offence.

How is Simon's bowblade for PVE? I really want to run a SKL build, and not have to opt for quality after so it seems perfect. I think I know the bow is OP for cheesing, but how is the blade part of it?

For the blade alone it scales with Skill only and is pretty great. Tricked mode can cheese almost anything but that requires 50 Blt, so if you wanna use both modes effectively go 50/50 Skl/Blt. Str/Arc is great too, Arc builds really need FRC gems for weapons to do insane damage.

It feels like a standard curved blade to me, good damage, simple and effective, not too fast but not too slow, low stamina cost, a spin2win charged attack with some weird properties (second hit does larger damage and is the only one that seems to backstab, at the very least I lost some backstab because of it's behavior, and also slow stamina cost).

I wouldn't use without the bow part though, both transformation attacks are very useful and made the weapon more varied.

It's like Cainhurst, just run past everything until you get inside. If you want the items then suicide rush them or backtrack later. The outside area is easier when you are sneaking up behind the rock throwers rather than running their gauntlet. You can also deal with the thing causing frenzy so that it stops.

I don't really know what makes a good chalice dungeon, but I think this one I just found can be of help to some. Has a blood rock, enemies are bone hunters, speed freaks, brainsuckers and more. First boss is watchers, second is keeper and third is humpf.

Hell yeah it would. I can't even imagine how many times I've said that over the years about other games from other franchises, but somehow devs always leave so much wanting.

Right now the difference between DaS2 and 3 I'm lamenting most is the inability to infuse boss-soul weapons. Literally the only three things I enjoy in DaS3 are Farron Funsword, the ol' MLGS, and using Heysel Pick with Flashsword and Soul Greatsword.
The fact that I can never get all three of those weapons on the same build drives me friggin' nuts. Every time I play with MLGS/Pick I miss the shit out of the Funsword, and every time I play with the Funsword I miss the MLGS and Pick.

At least if I had the DLC I could add Valorheart to the Funsword build.

I played DaS2 recently, it was a fucking chore by the end, but more bossfights like Ivory King would be appreciated. Going in against the Charred Loyce Knights and the King with your own four guys and Lucatiel, a proper skirmish, was really cool. It's a shame my sorc build was either heavily broken or literally useless with absolutely no inbetween. Ended up respeccing into a Greatsword Havel tank fucker because DLC bosses are all resistant to magic.

Saw Spear and Tonitrus best Arcane combo? Spear handles beasts and Ton handles kin. Ton seems to have the least amount of stats you need to use it (some strength points).

It is easier if you use L2 attacks and just lock on when you swing or depending on the angle. I have an arcane build with a +10 Ludwig's Holy Blade dedicated to killing BLB and HBLB (27% beasthunter + 26% fire + cold abyssal).

He stuns pretty easily with multiple L2s and jump attacks to his arms, head or legs. If you just keep doing it you can stun lock him for probably half of the fight

Fun to use, absolutely. It's very satisfying to use it, especially the R2 charge.
Well-balanced, yes. It has C scaling in Str, Skl, and Arc, which allows it to be versatile, to an extent.
Good in combat, iffy. PvP is rather difficult with it, but PvE is much better.
Practical, no. No weapon the Kegs made was practical, it wasn't the purpose.
Outclassed by other weapons, definitely. The average scaling drags it down, makes it second to most other weapons.
I still have a blast using it, partially because of the absurdity of it, and also because it's well-rounded, even if it has universally average scaling
