Yes. I think of Mantra as that skill you pick up because there's no skill worth a damn and it just barely does something. No one is going to be missing a NIN Mantra. If you have B4B, Invig, IR, and Second Wind you're good to go.

I can't say much, as I'm not too experienced yet, but I can say as a fellow wow player that XIV has a much slower combat speed, and an emphasis on old-school rotations.

Monk isn't bad, they just don't bring any utility to the party. That have extremely strong personal DPS but that's it. Dragoons can reduce pierce resistance(increases the damage of Bard/Machinist) as well as provide a 15% crit aura for a few seconds. Ninja can increase all damage by 10% for a few seconds every minute, restore some TP every 3 minutes and transfer their own threat to a tank(allowing them to sit in their DPS stance longer.)

Monks? Monks can increase healing received for anyone within 7 yards which is useless outside of progression raiding with below average healers.

It really isn't much of an issue until 60 unless you find yourself running out of MP constantly, which might also be a playstyle issue or a dying issue.

Secondaries are pretty meh for healers, most people go for crit and then it's down to taste for the other one. You shouldn't worry too much about them before you get to 60, and even for awhile afterwards, because you should be focusing on increasing your ilvl.

And yeah, the scaling on piety is terrible. It's good to have some (I like having enough to get me to 14k mp) but you will rarely have issues in anything except a12s unless people die a lot or are really slow at killing things.
