Meridionalis is still very good. She's better than Liu Bei at farming if you're intense enough to make a new team in order to have no skyfall.

Meri isn't an Arena 3 stomping lead but she's always got big easy damage and no skyfall so she's useful.

Yamamoto is much, much more common over on JP considering his best inherit (Chad) was in the same REM as him and he has access to great SI bases like Tsubaki, Ilmina, and Laila. His damage is also good enough for just 6 orbs that you can just use Tengus or whales to fill your SBs, too. If you need a full board of red, you've got Goemon and Surtr. He also has the ability to take on longer dungeons fairly easy because you can break one of Chad's rows.

Romia is fucking cute and a nice replacement if you dont have Zuoh
Kuvia is a nice 4tpa red card
Elgenubi is really niche right now and doesn't fit in with any leads, but she is currently the equiv of a red eschamali
Barbaras LS right now isn't that bad but her sub pool is really lacking, due to being limited to machines
Navi is a 3sbr light card with a boardchange, I'm sure you'll find a use for her
Sheena is a really nice bicolor light/dark active, only one in the game im pretty sure.

Playing OSC blind on JP is the true hardmode. Would have been in trouble if I got Drahklist, and Raguel would have been a pain. Vendor only has a delay, which is way more manageable.

Dark and light are both super effective on the other.
This only applies to the enemy, they won't do extra damage to you for a monoteam.

Since you're still in early game, I wouldn't worry about grinding much of anything. For now you should be working on clearing Normals/Technicals for stones.

With your current box, I recommend running
>Ronove (Lead) / Sherias (Full Board Change, but doesn't create hearts. Use in conjuction with Grape Dragon if you have to) / Grape Dragon (Heartmaker) / Sun Quan (Delay) / Keeper of Gold (Stat Stick / Heartmaker)

Keep in mind this isn't an ideal team and you can sub out anything at this stage of the game.

Even though you won't be using Keeper of Gold for long, it's important to note that certain evo materials (like Keeper of Gold) have their skills rotated in order to become skillup fodder for different monsters. If you (for some reason) haven't replaced the Keeper, just use Elgenubi but don't use her skill since it breaks hearts.

I'd try to stay away from collabs/special REMs until you get a better box. The only reason I say this is because you rolled quite a bit in the New Years REM. The Heroine REM is good, but right now you need key Ronove subs. Farmable subs for Ronove don't really appear until mid-lategame.

For now, focus on clearing Normals/Techs for stones to roll in the next Godfest to get better subs.

For most monsters that come from the REM it takes about 4-6 skillups to max them. Big exceptions are Ganesha (many skillups) and Minerva (many skillups until awoken, then only 2 skillups needed)

Descend bosses almost always require 10+ skillups because they are farmable. There are no rules for any of the monsters but if you roll the REM for a monster it usually has 5 or 6 skillups until max.
