I'm doing no damage to the giant saurians.
I'm doing no damage to the boss ogre that spawns and rapes me in tandem with the eliminator and the occasional giant saurian.
My sorcerer enchants my perma enchanted weapon (with worst element choice) which could freeze enemies while my pawn spells something powerful. But no.
My sorcerer keeps starting some spell, then is interrupted, then starts another spell, then decides to do something else.
My sorcerer is the only one capable of doing aught to enemies.

What skills are you using? Everyone talks about how great 5fold and 10fold are but you need to be able to pierce enemy defense first since they're a bunch of weak hits spread out. Strong single hit stuff like a perfect charge deathly arrow should be doing fine. Don't expect to do damage to wraiths though, even with enchants.

Yes. If playing as a melee it blinds you any time it's cast. Not quite as annoying if you play ranged, but can still cause some issues. Maelstrom is best used before an encounter to clear out all the trash, but pawns are incapable of using it until combat actually begins.

Oh boy, do I have the autism strats that you need.

>equip the sleep resist ring and the arc ring
>when death spawns, begin charging arc

You can't actually deal damage fast enough to keep him stunlocked until he dies. Eventually he'll teleport out because Arc takes too long to charge. But after a couple encounters, he will go down finally. And more importantly, this strategy makes Death a non-issue for warriors.

It's more of the same gameplay, but modified to fit the MMO model

You can go solo, with pawns, or team up with other players

Boss fights are less fun because of some shitty mechanics and some mechanics/neat stuff from the original game is toned down

But otherwise, it's basically a semi-sequel/spinoff in a sense.

Finally found the time to play the game during the last days.
Catherine was great, I played as Ranger with her and she was a great fight buddy. There were some great moments, like when we staggered together an enraged chimera for almost a minute while Kiryu finished it, or when I got drenched, my lantern went out and the light of her fearful din let me roll dodge an attack.
In general she used fearful din really well, 10fold and normal attacks very well, but, strangely enough, I didn't see her using Deathly Arrow. Probably I just missed it, though. She fought pretty well against the drake as well.

Im a level 50 sorcerer, I have 100% Silence resistance and 100% poison resistance along with
high resistance in other areas. Im using dragon blood ring and silver-dragon forged ancient robe, but I've been recently considering swapping for Adept's Robe for the healing regen effect (even though I am not a mage.)

What personally do you prefer when looking for a sorcerer in that regard?

I mostly look out for 100% Sleep and Possession resistance on pawns. Silence isn't too common and sorcs around here generally carry High Voidspell for Petrifaction.

Yep. He had way too many hearts, reset back to gen 311. Look at your own screenshot. He should be 327. Each heart had 0.1 health and for almost everyone he immediately spawned a corpse. He's fucked, if there actually was a grace, then it lasted all of a second.

Magick Rebalancer isn't glitched. It lasts 90 seconds, but I guess the re-cast times cut into the duration. Use Instant Reset to minimize that.

The dialogue, environment, and music all sold the idea of the surreality of the encounter and properly conveyed what was at stake. The fight being so underwhelming from an objective perspective actually emphasized the story being told by it.

That's a massive contradiction though. IIRC Savan says he tried godsbaning himself multiple times until he just gave up. The only way it can kill the seneschal is by another Arisen's hand. That's why he needs you to do it.

You didn't break anything. When you released Savan with the godsbane, you accepted the position in his stead. So when you decide to suicide with the godsbane after, you can no longer die by your own hand and must wait for the next Arisen to release you. That loading screen basically disregards everything that just got explained by Savan's pre-death infodump.

Also the whole system that sends arisens to him is pretty much self-sustaining, any arisen that dies to the seneschal or gets cold feet at the last second becomes a dragon and the dragon will just sit there and occasionally go to fuck something up in order to goad men into hunting it until it finds someone to make into an arisen. Ever notice how Grigori's eyes are clouded over and he acts feral until the hero stabs the shit out of hand? They're basically programmed to do their thing as soon as they find someone with enough willpower. Then events will eventually lead the arisen to slay the dragon and then lead him to the seneschal. The Seneschal doesn't even really have to do anything to keep the recruitment phase of the cycle going, it sustains itself whether he wants it or not.

Yeah, the godsbane can kill the seneschal, but the seneschal cannot self-terminate and has to have another arisen do it for them. The cycle would have been broken already if Savan could have just killed himself at any time.

So your arisen can't kill themselves either after they become the seneschal. Basically all that happens when you self-godsbane is that you cast off your mortal shell and give it to your pawn. You yourself are still trapped within the cycle, there's no exit save by hand of another arisen. And if no one has the will to fight their way up to you then you're just stuck there forever.

Let's assume that's the reason Savan didnt kill himself, out of a sense of duty. The cycle would be broken the second someone who doesnt share that same sense of duty gets second thoughts, starts thinking 'man fuck this shit I can't take it anymore, fuck waiting for a new guy, I'm out'.

Granted the point of the entire test is to weed out the pussies and the faggots who don't have what it takes, but even the strong-willed can be broken down to the point of despair, given enough time (and oh boy does the senschal have plenty of time to realize how fucked it all is, and how everything is going down the spiral and entropy is making the universe and everything in it its bitch)

Consequently, it make no sense for the seneschal to be able to self-terminate. Assuming the existence of a higher being in DD's cosmology, it'd make sense for that being that it would make the system upon which the overseeing of creation is founded upon is as airtight as possible, and will continue to function at some level for all eternity without its constant supervision, right? Letting your steward kill himself and break the whole thing is not something you would allow for if this was your goal.

A seneschal that nopes the fuck out is much preferable to a system that's sending dragons to get people murdered, unleashes hordes of monster and then bombs cities as a bonus.
There's something seriously fucked going on and breaking the system might be preferable.

Besides the system is not self perpetuating to begin with. Arisen can kill a dragon and then back off during the test while not becoming a dragon. Where the fuck does a dragon come in this scenario?

Or it might be flat out self repairing and killing yourself doesn't stop dragon and arisen cycle anyway.

Both me and Kiryu will play as sorcerers for a while (I'll switch Kiryu to fighter every time I rest, so you will always find the usual Kiryu in rift). First time playing as a magic vocation, our magic stats are freaking terrible, so I need 2 tanks around lvl 30-45. Can't find Sheeba, can someone recommend me a fighter tank around those levels? The rift isn't helping at all.
