LIZ THREAD

Nowadays, whenever people hear about TYPE MOON works, they will always put Fate (as in Fate route of Fate/Stay Night) as reference. Some of the people here in my country did not even know anything about the whole Fate/Stay Night game, and even fewer people here are excited about a Heaven's Feel release.

I had only encountered one guy who plays Fate Grand Order on his tablet. Such a shame that I did not get his code in time. -.-

The only one that knows that there is more than one route of Fate/Stay Night and that there is more to TYPE MOON series than Fate is the female caretaker of our house. I introduced her first to Kara no Kyoukai (all eight movies in one sitting by the way), then the DEEN adaptation of FSN, then properly explained to her some of the scenes from DEEN that made it a mixed up mess. We then moved on to Fate/Zero, then introduced to her the UBW route of 2014.

The only thing that I haven't showed her yet is Kagetsu Tohya.

UBW is the best route.

*Its the only route where Shirou actually arrives into a healthy and mature conclusion(unlike fate and HF where he arrives at opposite extremes).
* Most badass Shirou with the best lines.
* It has the focus on the best girl on the whole VN, Rin, with her natural and interesting character growth .
* It is the most "gray morality" route out of all three. There's no "good" answer and both villains and heroes are shown to be flawed people with not that clear of a roles(Caster is one of the most interesting villains in FSN) and the central conflict of the route has nothing to do with "good and evil" but simply about perception of yourself. Hell, even Gilgamesh has understandable and clearly outlines motives in UBW.
* Shinji gets a fitting end. I always found him just getting killed off cheap. Having to live with yourself with the realization at what you did and what you experienced is a fitting price for him. And Sakura gets to have her old brother, before all the nonsense started, back. So Shinji BOTH gets a fitting punishment for his behavior AND becomes a better person from it.
* Perfect ending. Fate ending was great(and HF true felt like an asspull), but UBW ending felt very fulfilling and fitting as Rin and Shirou face the unknown future together, having become better people than they started out as.

Arjuna isn't even that bad going by his showing. Even as an Archer in close combat with a Lancer, he was holding his own for a while. He was progressively wearing out, but he was still doing a good job, and his NPs are good. The biggest offense to him is not having some sort of Brahmastra when Karna has a line about how his isn't an imitation of Arjuna's.

I don't get how people call him a shitter when, going by the newer versions of the Mahab, most of Karna's loses can be attributed to his curses and not by being outskilled. Hell, the story has Krishna calling Karna stronger than Arjuna by a good deal. The only thing against Arjuna was Cu Alter saying that he didn't believe Arjuna could beat Scat, but I wouldn't trust Cu Alter when he knows Scat better than he knows Arjuna.

Apoc's got a really solid first half and the second half from a characterization point of view is actually fairly well done.

Theres alot of good developement and some genuinely enjoyable moments.

It just has an out-of-nowhere ending and the dynamic of making the protagonist strong enough to match his foes was ass-pulled.

It wasn't a bad story, it just wasn't handled well in alot of ways.

In that case, Rider, Caster and Lancer are all silver servants. You can easily get them, so there's no point in buying an account for them.

Rin, EMIYA and Gilgamesh are all archers. I think Gilgamesh is the strongest of the three, but most accounts should have welfare Kuro which is very good for single target NP damage.

Artoria Saber is trash. All assassins are bronze servants, i.e. you can get them easily from the free gacha.

Top tier servants are, as I said, Cu Alter, Jeanne Alter, Merlin, Waver, and a lot of situational ones like for instance Scathach.

In the VN that I didn't notice the first time? Foreshadowing, comparing character portrayals, that kind of thing mostly. The meme that Gil abruptly changes character for kind of poor reasons between routes is true, the meme that Rin is at her worst in her own route is true she's a far stronger character even before development in HF, Kirei is actually kind of shitty outside of HF, although that's more then made up by Nakatas delivery of his lines, Ilya is worse then I remembered and now she seems overrated, I had to struggle not to project character traits on Rider that didn't actually appear until Ataraxia but the meme that she has no character at all in F/SN isn't particularly accurate, I enjoyed Caster far more as a character on the reread but her plan was fucking stupid and held together with luck and duct tape

One of the largest things was seeing Saber as an actual flawed character again, which was a fucking pleasant shock after years of wank and was quite refreshing. Still ended with the same tier list for routes and girls that I had the first time though, which was Sakura>Saber>Rin and HF>UBW>Fate
