No. The Pz IV has better overall stats with the derp than the M4 does, and the Pz IV is still inferior to the T67 and KV-1(S). At tier 6 there are so many better tanks that neither of the American mediums would make top 5.

Do to the fact that it's a light tank with a very structurally weak chassis and very lightweight, you wouldn't be able to mount a high pressure weapon on it without ruining the turret ring/suspension every time you fired. However, a low pressure gun can't put much energy into the round, meaning it's going to have piss all pen. So instead you get HEP, HEAT and HE.

Hunnicutt. His stuff can be hard to find copies of (Wargaming is about to publish a reprint of his book "Firepower" in fact) but you can pretty easily find PDFs of his stuff online. He details the entire development of various american tanks.

Aside from that, most of the stuff I know is just random facts picked up from all over the place, amalgamated into what my current knowledge is.

To add to this, this is actually true and is demonstrable by the fact that the British Challenger 2 is the only in-service modern MBT that doesn't use a smoothbore gun (aside from the indian one, but dude india lmao); the British still rely on HESH as their main ammunition.

For tank rounds to have the required kinetic energy to punch through 1 metre+ equivalent armour nowadays, they fire some massively long darts. These rounds are far too long for rifling to give any considerable "spin" to it before it's left the barrel. Instead, the cannons are smoothbore and stabilisation of these rounds is done via fins on the round itself.

My guess would be it has something to do with being unable to manufacture composite armour into shapes like that. The M60 has the flat hull as opposed to the curved hull of the M48 because it was supposed to have composite, and the composite couldn't be manufactured curved.

Plus it reduces effective armour everywhere except head on.

Id just want a tier 3 with 57km/h speed and 114mm derp cannon

What equipment does one put on the E25?

Currently I use Rammer, Camo net and Binocs.

However, I consider dropping Camo net, because it just doesn't fit my playstyle with the E25, so probably I'm gonna switch that for Vents.

The gun arc is pretty narrow for the Camo net to be mostly active, and even with net active I get spotted anyway.

How legit would it be to use Rammer / Vents / Coated Optics for a bit more active / flanking gameplay?

My crew has 100% BiA, 100% Camo and I use chocolate as well.

First, fit with a rammer, vents, and either GLD or optics.
Then, train for 6th sense, snap shot, smooth ride, situational awareness, safe stowage for the 1st set, BIA for 2nd set, repairs for 3rd set, then whatever the fuck you want; camo is pretty worthless since the tank's fucking huge.
Research tracks, turret, gun, engine, radio
Ammo loadout should be 1/2 regular, 1/4 premium, and 1/4 HE for those fucking german paper tanks since your clip reload is fast as shit

To play this tank, what you do is never be alone; always have a retard nearby to hide behind if enemy tanks come toward you. If you really need to, you can 1v1 any same-tier tank and win as long as you have the rare ability to aim at things. Always take advantage of people who just fired, you can pop out, do 390 damage within 2 seconds, and get back into cover, and if he decides to try that to you, your 8 second reload should be quick enough to stuff another 390 into his asshole. If you see an actual heavy tank like an E75 or T32, run the fuck away unless they're showing you their side armor and not paying attention to you. If anyone shows you their rear and you know the location of their fuel tanks or engine, say hello to some surprise flaming buttsex, since you have 3 chances to torch them every time you reload.

Then you get your STA-1 and somehow win a 1v8 with the luck of jesus while playing like a total retard :^)

I'm pretty sure generic medium advice is:
poke ridges and annoy people with gun depression (not soviet/chinese)
poke corners and annoy people with turret and frontal armor (soviet/chinese)

For the chi-ri, you can't exactly do that because your turret's huge and you have no armor, so it's a mistake capitalizer, and a very good one since it's got the highest alpha (390) of the mediums. Also, since the clip reload's quick, you can be more flexible with ammo type, and 2 clips of HE can cripple or kill a borsig or skorpion.

When you're top tier, you pretend you're not top tier and ignore the little shits that tell you to go on the front line, since this thing is essentially an EXP piñata when spotted alone. Just try to keep the distance mid-range as much as possible, since your accuracy is decent and your aim time is excellent, at <1.5s, and enemies will tend to miss that those distances as long as you're using cover.
On sniping maps, (I'm guessing prokhorovka is what you're thinking) either go on the rails, go up the hill, or snipe like a pussy on the 1-2 line. Use ridges, force a medium-range shootout, and never be alone. If it feels like the flank is dying and you can't sacrifice your HP to save it, just start backing off and hope you can make it. Otherwise, just trade fire with as few tanks at once as possible.
Remember, this isn't a carry tank, it's only an influence tank. If your team's gonna lose, you can only make it so they lose less horribly. if the win chance is on the fence, you can sacrifice your HP to cripple enemies that would normally facilitate the win. Be smart with your HP, but don't try to avoid fire if it means you can save an ally.

Get the KV-1, T-34, M4 Sherman, T1 Heavy, and the Stug III G. The USSR, USA, and German trees have the most tanks so they are good ones to start in, and tier 5 is a good tier for new players to learn the game. Those tanks are all very good and have different play styles which will help you choose what tanks you want to further grind to.

I know it's a good tank. I'm not that terrible of a player either, I can get other mediums to work far better than the T-34-85. I just can't do the T-34-85.

I have three marks in the tier 7 Scorpion with 1400 average damage, but my winrate in it is 49%. This tank is great at farming damage with its super high penetration, but it's so fragile and so low DPM that I just end up putting potshots into lots of different targets and never really stopping enemies from pushing into areas and taking control of the map, so even if I do a shitload of damage I end up losing the game unless I have teammates that actually know what they're doing (not likely in random battles).
