Maybe. IS should have been working on a new FE engine for Switch for quite a while, considering it's new status as a Nintendo Top 5 Franchise.

The Fates engine is similar to the Awakening engine, and while they are building on it (See My Castle 3rd person mode -> Dungeon Crawling/Town exploration) I doubt that the coders have been working their asses off for Fire Emblem Echoes. The art designers and modellers, sure, but I think the core engine is there. So they're free to work on FE Switch.

Also, since Nintendo wants a blockbuster title every month or two to prevent the WiiU droughts, I imagine we'll see it a few months after Mario's game. That's why I'm thinking we'll get a Fates-like reveal trailer at E3 followed by a game in Feb/March 2018.

Again, you have to remember that the team behind FE is only working on a single one of the FE titles right now.

So the Fire Emblem mobage will be identical around the world? There won't be distinct versions between regions, like a JP version and a Global one?

Ch19 and (the right side of) Ch23 can be tricky if you don't prepare right. Make sure you have a wyvern lord with at least D-rank lances by 19 so they can hold a beast-slayer lance. Most change Camilla to Wyvern lord, but I managed to get Beruka promoted by then by not abusing Camilla as much earlier.

Save the pic if you want to know how I got through the right side of 23.

Other than that, pretty much every unit is viable without doing anything special except Mozu, who you need to switch to archer ASAP if you want her to be at all decent.
