Why do people build Trinity on on hit Kog Maw? Like I get its an amazing item and with his ult he can get regular sheen procs but doesn't it just end up like his q on old kog where why would you use q when you're just taking away damage you could be doing autoing in the time you're casting the spell. It's mostly that trinity gives Kog all the stats he needs to even begin functioning. Health and movement gives him survivability, mana means a lot now that his W costs mana again, the 20% CDR gives you a lot more uptime on W and there's no other good sources of CDR for him, and you actually do get quite a bit of sheen procs even with onhit build. Shifting the recipe from zeal to stinger also means it gives 40% attack speed, which is pretty strong.
I don't really know if it's necessary, and it's probably worthwhile to sell it off for another on-hit item once you hit six items, but it's a good first item on him. Unfortunately, it does mean that your second item likely won't synergize with it at all, but that's the price you pay. Also since you won't be attacking at 5.0 attack speed, you can weave your spells and autos together again.
