And the problem with camera speed is that it's too fast, like if I want to get a closeup shot of someone it's hard to get it right because one tiny tap of the key makes the camera move too much, it's too sensitive. I've read this isn't an issue with controllers but I'm using kbm

Yeah, if you only use keyboard and mouse, it sucks unfortunately, I use a controller for positioning, it allows a far more precise camera control using analog sticks, and I use the d-pad for fov adjustments.

If I apply one of his magic words to an item, is just that item afflicted or does it count for all of them?

E.g. with the "all equipment is treated as heavy armor" thing the wording makes it sound like every piece of armor I wear is now treated as heavy and not just the one with the word on it.

With "increases the range of whirl" I'm not so sure if that means the range is increased for one sword or for both.

Generally just that item, however...

This one does apply to any armour you're wearing. So you can have Heavy pants, boots, and gloves and it will all count as Light armour.

I would go with the Protection runeword instead though. Free Quen at the start of combat means you can spend that stamina on other things, like Igni or Yrden.

They did get eaten and the crones would be alive either way. If you release the spirit it destroys downwarren too so people die either way, with the benefit of hindsight I'd say killing the spirit is the better choice but on my first go through i released it.
