The end of the world happened, and society has mostly bounced back, however the whole planet has been mined to hell by pre-war mega-conglomerates, so only already processed metals are really available without excavating large amounts of rock. depends on what you want.
SoS adds gems and dust placeables. SoS also has no config for changing colours of stuff so if you don't like a colour you're stuck with it
or you could fork the mod and change it yourself
it works right away and is very intuitive; place ingot on ground with right click. makes collide-able blocks so you can walk over up to a half-slab's worth of ingots (32 i think)

IngotPyramid has config for colours. pretty sure it doesn't have any of the extra features of SoS like gem and dust placing.
using it is kind of convoluted. you place a piece of carpet, hit it with an ingot, break the carpet ??, and you get a full block to put ingots in. you can change the rotation and 'layout' of ingots, so like organized grid piles or pyramids.

My biggest issue with SoS is the fact that hoppers and pipes can't feed into it. IngotPyramid had a good idea in making the block use an internal inventory, even if you can't use create micro/half blocks with it. I know you can use an Autonomous Activator to simulate rightclicking to add to the SoS stack, but that just isn't as convenient as placing hoppers/pipes directly on the stack.

Conversely, the big advantage SoS has over IngotPyramid is being able to extend the stack seamlessly by continuing to right click at the bottom, allowing you to create towers of ingots without placing new blocks at the top manually.

When they give ~2k rf/t and can fit almost anywhere, they're hard to beat. Fairly inexpensive to produce and an array of them can keep up with most dedicated reactors. Good early game that lasts well into late game.

Does anyone know of any items or blocks between the different mod packs capable of continuously preventing rain or storms in general from happening?

My server hasn't had rain for at least a week now and attempts to do /weather have done nothing, the storms don't even start, the weather just remains completely clear.

I originally thought it was a teru teru bozu behind it but I can't find any evidence of anyone using one and even then I don't think they're capable of being automated.

Yes, it's supposedly to reduce lag. I made my caves bigger and more frequent than vanilla, but I'm not really experiencing any more lag than usual RTG generation lag. You should always pregen with RTG anyway.

PP has almost no mod support. Thats literally what I've been working on besides the toxic jungle biome, just adding textures or tweaked textures that XSSheep has already made and making a big mod texture pack. The pack is biased towards my own needs however, as I'm going for a very specific feel. I'll release the texture pack when I'm done.

As for chisel support, no that would be imposible, it cant make new texture variants on its own. But most factory blocks fit well with PP, the only things that don't fit is chisel blocks from like andesite or vanilla cobble.

Infernal mobs and Grimoire of gaia. One adds diablo esque modifiers to mobs and the other adds varius monsters. Both are fully configurable so you can tweak monsters to be wimpy and on par with vanilla mobs so they are just there for extra flavor or you can buff the crap out of them into unstoppable raid bosses. I also recommend grabbing project zulu, adds a lot of good fuana and wild life. There is also lycanite mobs witch add fuggly doom monsters but some are pretty fun. Thaumcraft adds a lot to the world and good magi-tech. Picking up Slash and blade mod adds a bunch quality katanas for fighting ubers mobs.

There's still no way to sort different types of potions in vanilla correct?

I know you can do some bullshit with zombies to sort swords and armor, but that's extremely slow, and doesn't work for anything you can't equip. You can also shove potions into stands, but that only lets you sort potions.

There used to be a sorting device for whitelisting items and sending it out a specific route. Like you use trains to offload your chest then you put it across the sorters which slowly take the specific items out. It was a weird mechanism using hoppers, and comparitors. The hoppers would be filled with something to buffer it like sticks and one slot would be the item you would like to filter out. Once the hopper sucks up an item it would put the target stack at 2 and activate the comparitor which would shut off the hopper then after a brief moment empty that fresh stack.
And now that I think of it, the single stack items would probably be an issue i this case just like you said.

I think the other mods in my pack meet the autism quota without getting into the mircocrafting mess that IC2's current version suffers from. Does modern IC2 still have the crops part? That feature was the hidden gem of IC2.

Because I don't like playing with magic equipment all the time. I find building contraptions in vanilla more fun due to the limitations put on you.

You can automate the harvesting of witch potions. I wanted to sort them for a mob farm so that you would have an infinite stream of splash potions of harm for afk XP grinding. You still can, it's just that you just end up throwing a bunch of random shit now and then.

All zombies and creepers will target many player-made blocks, and all zombies and skeletons will try to fiddle with buttons, levers, etc, but there's more to it than that. Apparently creeper jockeys are a thing. Imagine being ambushed from above by one of these things, or trying to outrun a creeper that periodically lunges at you

And it gets better. At first I thought these two zombies would just have double the attack damage and HP. Until I saw the bottom zombie HURL THE TOP ZOMBIE at a nearby player. They separated into two entities that chased him for a few blocks, then they combined and did it all over again

Some fail to do so and run into your ass-end, despite you having no chance to get out of the way at any time.

Speiger's one has a better optimized energy net and more features, including a few built-in addons like compact solars and chargepads. It also has better compatibility with other IC2 addons, even ones made exclusively for IC2Exp, while Immibis's version is plain old IC2 with nothing new.

I suggest giving them both a try, starting with Spieger's one to see if it has anything you dislike.

honestly advancing through Thaumcraft is something you can set to your own pace. You can go balls to the wall with it and grind out all the research in one day or take it easy and pick at it.
the only point you'll have to wait is getting some stuff that requires Warp. but for making a big golem farm? that's quick to get to. the most basic golem is the first actual research in the golem tab, then there's the upgrades and stuff.

Pam's also have some bees, but it's nowhere like Forestry.
If you do want Forestry, just disable the ore bees, but keep the basic 5-6 (meadow, forest, marsh, modest, wintry, tropical) plus maybe a bit of the hybrids. Check the wikis for which bee does what, and disable those you deem haxery. I hear Growthcraft's liquors could use Forestry honey for making mead.

But yeah the idea is that you hide it with something. You could also try a big techy silo door if you don't like the idea of a wooden shack. If you have any frame mods, make it open realistically too.
