Sunfire-Deadman's-SV should be your first three items tho the order depends on the matchup, you can swap Deadman's for Randuin's if you're against a Yasuo.

Early game focus on farming, you will NOT win lane unless they're fucking retarded, just pick up as much farm with Cleavers as possible. Your ult is pretty shit when you first get it, and DO NOT reflexively do it if you're gonna get bursted because it costs 20% of your current HP. Most likely you'll just pop it to fill up at turret before resuming farming. Once you get SV and level 11 it starts becoming good. When your laner isn't in lane punish them by shoving it in, maxing W second means you shove lane hella fast, especially with Sunfire.

I shouldn't have to tell you what to do during lategame, you're Mundo.

Holy fuck, I was playing lane pressure nasus, made it clear to my team that that's what I was doing, I drag my team to 30 minutes into a 7-2 tower situation with 1 enemy inhib down and 1 open. I was back and forth de-escalating teamfights we couldn't win without vi, keeping all 3 lanes pushed at least 3/4 to their base, making sure vi got her kills, and telling lulu how to play the game.
My team decides that now, after the entire game went by using this tactic and succeeding, that now was the proper time to "group" in the enemy jung, get caught, and die. After I had responded, "I'm gonna push mid first", these assholes who had worked around me carrying them decided that the nexus doesn't actually win the game, plays win the game. For fucks sake I'm so mad because they were so cooperative and the moment the clock strikes 30 their neurons collectively fire off a stream of actual vomit throughout their brains, like some sort of smart-retarded jekyll and hyde situation. Then of course it's my fault for doing what we agreed upon and nearly winning us the game, instead I should have left their team to kick our shit in, FUCK
I know I'm shit generally but this is one of the most tactically sound games I've ever played and we would have won if they just kept on for 5 more minutes

Id prefer someone like Sion, Poppy, or Nautilus as my tank

they have hard cc and arent as likely to feed as say a yasuo or any other squishy tops, plus there very gankable lanes who can capitalize on a yellow card

as for supports someone like braum, alistar, or nautilus are my favorites, the ones that can peel AND engage but unlike any mage supports dont feel the need to cs if im not there and will even hold a lane in front of the turret so I can come pick it up instead of spamming abilitys on it so they can get as much farm as they want untill I get there

in the jungle either an amumu, vi, or nautilus since they can engage, wont really die to an invade, and ganks are decent even early

It's really hard to play Kayle well. The one OTP I encountered a few times in master / challenger didn't even get challenger last season.

So Idk, it's a hard to play champion due to it being ranged and it's also not that great for team comp. If you play something like gnar mao gp poppy or w/e even sion and trundle and you get camped you at least have oppurtunities to get back into the game.

With Kayle it feels like you either hit the game but if you get camped you can't recover. You're permanently behind. Even Darius can recover a bit if the enemy makes a mistake, but with Kayle the enemy can afford to make countless mistakes if Kayle is behind since she won't be able to punish mistakes due to her lacking items and levels. And she scales mostly with items. She also isn't strong enough that you just auto win lanes if the enemy jungle doesn't come, it's still hard to win lanes vs champs like maokai.

in teamfights she brings BOTH hardcore aoe damage with her Es initial splash + rylais aoe slow and hurricane bolts applying furvor, your E damage, its own on hit, nashors, and rageblades on hit

not counting her ultimate and the heal she brings to the table

she can destroy a turret faster than any adc in the game (minus MAYBE ziggs)

and she can take a drag/baron faster than any champ in the game

This is because Kayle is squishy, needs to be in range of enemy abilities when harassing and doesn't really have any instant damage to turn something around. On top of that her orb walking is really tricky and absolutely necessary if you want to play Kayle well. If you only top lane with tanky champions or bruisers her playstyle feels odd and your performance likely suffers because you're not used to playing ADC style champions

To get those items you need a safe laning phase. Kayle is a very risky top lane early on and easy to be shut down.

Kayle is definitely a lot harder in my opinion to play efficiently at high level than something like Maokai or Trundle.

Also to add: you have very little range on the E. Which means you are front lining and you must do auto attacks to deal damage. You're front lining with a champion that is very squishy, has barely any instant damage and therefore if CC'd doesn't do much. The trick is to not get CC'd and still be able to get in a lot of auto attacks. This is easy if you're ahead and the opponents will lose if they engage. But if you're behind, they know that you won't have the damage to do anything anyway and thus you snowball negatively easily.

This is different if you play gnar maokai etc. Because they can disengage, they are more tanky therefore less of a target and they have their own CC tools to engage with. Kayle doesn't have anything of that so you're pretty much forced to at least tie the laning phase otherwise you will fall behind a lot. And tieing with Kayle isn't that easy either. You also don't really have any instant waveclear in lane so you're always going to be prone to harass and the sustain is early on weak as well from your W.

Kayle is very hard to play imo.

If you need to wait for enemy CC to be used to be useful as top laner, that means that you're relying on the enemy to make a mistake in the engage. The same can be said for Gnar, you just wait till enemy uses CC then go in and trap the enemy in walls. So it's not really an argument.

The fact is Kayle can't really engage and is easy to engage on which is a pretty big weakness.
