The most desirable is AST because it has the Balance card. All of the healers are good, although taking Balance out of the equation Scholar is stupidly powerful. It fills a specific niche in 8 man content though and WHM and AST are just fine at their jobs.

WHM deals the most damage of the three, with AST having better burst than SCH but not quite matching WHM. However, because of the way SCH plays you often have more time to deal damage than when you are on other healing jobs.

Scholar is the easiest. It has a lot of buttons and you have to control the pet if you want to play it in serious stuff, but don't let that intimidate you. It's very easy. WHM and AST aren't really that complicated either, but I think they require you to think ahead a bit more compared to SCH and people will often look to you as the "main" healer, as retarded as a concept as that is.
