i dont feel like the mastiff and mozambique actually fall into the exact same role. the mozambique isn't strictly better at everything the mastiff is supposed to do. yes, they're both projectiles and energy-based shotguns, but that's where the similarities end.

without an amped headshot, the mozambique isn't a 1HK, and the mastiff also has superior range and damage dropoff, especially if ADS. the djibouti shooti is more for spamfiring at pretty close range and filling the area immediately in front of you with plasma.

mastiff plays more like using an 870 with slug rounds in BF3, if you guys ever did that. dank one-shots at close range, and at midrange you can still ADS (sometimes at the head) for a 1HK. mastiff also loads one shell at a time, meaning it's the only shotgun you can interrupt reload to shoot. the gun feels like it was made more for extended 1vX firefights, whereas the mozambique feels like it was made for spamfire assassinations.

i think modelling for the smart pistol is pretty much done. it was gonna just be a generic smart pistol at first, but when i saw the Apex Northstar that BT posted, i decided to make a scuffed-up Apex Smart Pistol.

500 Words is easy
The Campaign is a introductory experience. It gets players invested into the world as well as the ability of being a pilot. Mechincally playing the campaign will teach you everything you need to hold your own in PvP

Pvp Is the later and more fulfilling part of the experience. There are options for people who want the easy route through Pvp. This will give them a decent score.

There are also options for people who put a bit more into the game. These take more skill to use and for someone who truly does well with them they'll be rewarded.

That's just on the Pilot side. the Main course is the Titan game-play. 6 distinct titans with a bit of customization to each of them. There is something for everyone. Againa n easy option for casuals and some options for those who put more work into it.

For a more literal take on the "Unified" approach, the free DLC is both great for consumers and the Industry but also keeps the player base together by not splitting it up into people who have this and people who don't.

Those who support the game and Respawn get cosmetics for this.

It shows off they put more into this game Either timewise in the form of skillful play or financially in the form of Camos/warpaints/Prime Models.

For the best accuracy for all players, making it fair whether you had 16 ping or 320 ping, the server lets everyone shoot at what they see. This also translates to each player on the receiving end basically being rolled back a fraction of a second when something happens to them.

So for example, you went from two pieces of cover and were exposed for one second. You may think you got behind cover from your view of the game world, but you were taken down in that one second by some other guy who on his side still had you in his sights. You just didn't get the memo until a moment later. This works both ways. Everyone is equalized.

This has nothing to do with tickrate, that Valve netcode talking point is totally irrelevant with Respawn's client-server netcode. Raising server tickrate would do nothing.

Overcore (Plus Emergency Battery)

30% Flight Core out the gate, Core is more than an offensive ability, its a movement/escape tool. 50% if I have my spare battery on hand. 70% if I've stolen one pre-Titanfall and load her with a double battery stack. One/two shots from Core. Overcore is great.

Viper Thrusters.

Speed is Life. This turns VTOL into a third dash and a genuine getaway dodge tool as well as the peeking tool it is meant to be. Flight Core turns into a fast moving chase/pressure tool as well as giving you the ability to vault over a Titan and rain directly down on it. A decent aiming Flight Core can doom ANY titan from max. Viper Thrusters keep your target in the pipe.

The idea of Northstar is you want to be a mid range harassment.

Railgun. Full Charge this puppy and crit and It'll do 140%ish of a bar of Titan health. Thats lots! To crit, aim for the nose art, if a Titan is moving side to side aim for the shoulder joint, its generally a decent rule. I like full charging it rather than pinging off low power shots unless I'm in a real jam. Remember Full Charge has knock back on Titans! And low charge still one shots all things smaller than a Reaper. You can really fuck the enemy team if you're first to fall. Also try VTOL to get a very clear view of a crit point. Tones hate when you fly over their shields, they cower.

Cluster Rocket.

Mob clearance, Pilot killer, room wrecker. Slide one in a busy room if there's no Titans to hunt. If there are then Tether and aim at Titans feet. Here's a tip! If you're out of smoke and are being rodeoed find a wall, shoot the rocket at the wall at cockpit height and turn your back to it. The rodeo pilot will likely die from the splash.

Tether Trap.

Engage Titan, lick off a full charge then dash backwards. Turn and run for a corner. Place Tether trap behind the corner. Charge. Fire. Move around the corner and back. Stuck Titan. Rocket at feet. Charge. Fire. Dash back and look for a corner. Place Tether. Rinse. Repeat.

VTOL.

Escape! Drydock is home to VTOL escapes. Canal too. Jump off the bridge. Fuck it. Peek over rooftops and give someone a full charge shot. Annoy them. Then escape. Then annoy them.

Easy. Keep everyone at range unless you have Core or they have less than a full bar. If they're low then full charge and dash/fly in for a Terminate, they won't be expecting it and it is a 5 second respite where a mob will dump damage to no avail, and you have the speed to escape.

if you see more than one titan looking at you and you dont have piercing shot, dont even try to peek the corner. just leave. dont waste your trap either, since multiple titans will be pursuing

your fully charged railgun goes straight through ronin sword block, and can also crit, so take advantage of that. you won't be able to hit confirm crits since sword block disables hitmarkers for some reason

a good trick for getting easy titan kills is to walk backwards through smoke to bait a low titan in, shoot them with a full charge shot as they hesitate on whether or not to chase, then dash forward through the smoke to instantly execute. you need to have good awareness of your own dmg and the enemy's health to do this, but it works.

another good use for smoke is to smoke+trap+cluster all in the same spot. the smoke hides the trap and cluster pretty well, and people who chase through your smoke will be pretty confused as to why they're melting at the speed of spicy fist.

ronin can phase dash to break your tether, so dont just waste tether immediately if you see a ronin plebwalking at you.

viper thrusters inherit momentum better, so use them to mostly go accelerate in straight lines and not for deft air jukes. curiously enough, i think air strafing works with viper thrusters, so give it a go.

enhanced cluster makes the difference between being able to kill an A-waller just by rocketing his wall and him being safe. if you want a good anti-pilot tool and are willing to sacrifice a miniscule amount of titan dps, i recommend you take it. otherwise, just use your rocket mostly for farming AI or for traps.

you can cheese evac ships pretty hard with VTOL + smoke in the air, since that'll damage the ship. if you have the double smokes kit, pop both + cluster + flight core and you can do a lot of damage to it.

but these are just minor tips and tricks and stuff. most of northstar is map knowledge, having a secure escape route, and matchup knowledge.

Stim is only really useful on rollout and when you fuck up and lose your momentum. On top of that, I find that the health regen dose nothing for me because i'm almost always using it aggressively. If it also increased your gun damage or something, then I'd consider it an option.

All I get from it is a speed boost, and I'm already quick enough. Why would I use it?

He's comparing the 'ping' kill notification to the ping and counter in flappy bird or something along those lines, and calling that inferior to using the EPG, which requires leading shots and speed to be effective.

For some, that simple act of doing well on the scoreboard and winning the match is enough, for others, it's interesting gameplay, like with the EPG.

Those conditioned reflexes are there for a reason, and for those who are not aware of them, it is unfair to judge them negatively on that account.

The argument originally posed was that the player wasn't skilled for using an EZ mode gun - but the complaint put forward was that a skilled person maximizing the EZ and minimizing the limited downsides made it just that much more OP and stupid to fight against.

Skilled players aren't any less skilled if they decide to use the highest DPS gun or take the most guaranteed route to getting kills. It just means he is that much more dangerous.

Did a game where some guy was going fast and using the Volt. His team won the match, but that because he had 33 pilot kills in Attrition. The rest of his team was getting dominated but he was able to carry the fuck out of his boys. I used the volt that match and every time I fought him I lost.

Nothing scratches Ronin's sword block. It's a 70% damage reduction on everything in a 360 degree radius. If his Sword Core is up, it's a 90% reduction. He can eat a Salvo Core and take less than half a bar. Don't blame Laser Core.

It's almost as bad of a decision as making it so shooting at Reinhardt's Shield in Overwatch charged your Ult, it literally makes it useless.
