My take on the drop rate from discussion with others is they're something vaguely around a 10% rate in 4m, but could be as low as 5% if our RNG has really just been that good.

I think the problem was that peoples frustration over the main 3 or 4 avatarfags that went back and forth fighting for weeks at a time jaded a lot of people about all avatarfags.
It went from new content coming out and everyone posting where they were in the story, what they liked wearing, what they saw that they thought was neat to this warped "text only" thing where if you even dared to include a screenshot whether it was just your character or you doing something on said character, you were labeled an attention whore who needed to gfto.
An attention whore, for posting yourself playing the game.
This made the ones who just wanted to share their experience with each other leave. Now all that's allowed is lobby pictures and even those get shat on. And people say grow a thick skin. No, no one has to. No one here is that special, bnsg isn't that amazing. Anyone can get around just fine without you guys, so what does bnsg have to offer now? Community? Even leddit does better

The circlejerk/Ivory tower issue is very much apparent and I think most EU people don't give a fuck because their circle is still around so they can still do shit. It was. The first bnsg discord was flooded with normies and everyone who actually played the game left it. Then Eristic made a discord and pretty much the same thing happened again.
Now /bnsg/ has a few different Discords:
3 for Jiwan (2 are for guilds, 1 is for turtle)

I classify avatarfags on the same tier with drama posting and post x posts, primarily because the amount of replies it can churn out can drown out any previous conversation and lobbies.
That and it's hard to see any literal who post a lobby now since the thread has in some degree manage to scare off new players, or at least put them into lurking status because some raging autist will start shitting out of their mouths at any given moment.
Given the choice, I'd personally rather wait to join a posted lobby even if gulg/kyoppi/fran/kilo is in it to not deal with the hassles of this general or pub it if I'm in a hurry to get my DC done and over with.

Half the problem is many of the low HM/gear players seem to want everything handed to them.
They want lobbies set up for them; they'll rarely ever host one themselves, or even join a pug.
They want to do harder content, but they won't join learning parties/new player friendly lobbies unless personally invited.
If you're not willing to put your own hand out, you're never going to get anywhere. Can't stay in your tiny inch-cube comfort zone and expect to have everything catered right to you.
Most of the higher geared/experienced players in /bnsg/ got there by putting forth their own effort, and not breaking down into tears that no one would help them without even asking for that help first.
