I've just started playing for the first time thanks to the steam sale so pardon my newfaggotry.

I'm through the first two, fucking loved them, but now I'm up to FNAF3, and just... is it reasonable to fucking hate this one?
Maybe I'm just pissy because I'm having trouble with it, but the tone of overt horror just feels totally at odds with what was so appealing about the first two, and the gameplay is annoying as fuck, I just can't spot this fucker anywhere.
I mean, I was stuck on night 5 of FNAF2 for fucking ages, but it was still fun and I was driven to figure it out. This one just feels annoying. Am I wrong?

It only gets worse from there, trust me. FNAF4 jumps straight off the diving board into "tryhard horror". My advice to you is to play as much of FNAF3 as you can stomach, then skip FNAF4 entirely and go straight to Sister Location, which is largely a return to the series' form in terms of visuals. 4 adds virtually nothing of value to the series' "story" such as it is (and in fact, does more to hamper it than help).

Maaaan. I should have known 5 games in 2 years was too good to be true. But oh well, I jumped on this train because I stumbled onto gameplay vids of Sister Location, which looks absolutely killer, so at least there's a light at the end of the tunnel.
Remains to be seen if the purist in me will hold out through 3 and apparently 4, but it's good to know it's not just me who's not enthusiastic about this turn. Cheers bros.

I think what's funnier is Chica didn't being this up last time and it must've kept slipping Mike's mind Freddy smokes indoors all the time. Which now that I think about it, Chica actually ended up keeping an eye on Mike without compromising her usual work schedule which she expressed worry over in previous comics while also having somebody to spend companionable silence with. The head turn is a nice touch too both for comedy and robotic quirks.

Well it does look like either:
Purple is leading one kid away from the group to kill him.
Purple is with the kids, perhaps using one to convince the others to follow him and kill them as a group.
One kid is having Golden Freddy hallucinations. After all Golden Freddy is still technically still an illusion in Fnaf 2.

Spring Bonnie did not exist in the game series yet so it is heavily implied that Purple Guy wore Golden Freddy/Fredbear Suit to kill the kids.
There is no proof, unless I am missing something, that states that Purple Guy wore Spring Bonnie to kill the kids.
It could prove even more as to why the Spring Bonnie Suit Springlocked him. He had only wore the Fredbear Suit before and assumed the Spring Bonnie suit would be the same.
The Fredbear Suit could be larger, allowing the performer to preform the iconic laugh that Fredbear most likely had. Spring Bonnie did not have that kind of room so laughter=death.
Him being able to put the suit on employees could mean that he did know how to wear it. But it got decayed and left alone over time causing the Suit's locks to become lose with age.
Causing a scared, laughing Purple Guy to set off the Springlocks in Spring Bonnie in Fnaf 1.

Oh yeah, that one was pretty comfy despite reminding me that all of them are killers. I also liked it because I could figure out their personalities by analyzing what they said. Bonnie is a child at heart and avoids taking resposibility for her past actions, Chica feels responsible but is weighed down by her past, and Foxy only cares about the show and resents thinking about anything because it gets in the way of that.

I'm probably looking into this too much, but if it was intentional then it was an interesting past, present, and future dynamic for their personalities that I didn't catch on the first read.

The post made me think of how in FNAF 3, the robots see a purple version of Freddy when Purple is luring them off the stage. I was musing on whether or not this was the animatronics' programming forcing them to follow him, because they think he's an empty suit. But you can veer off and explore the pizzeria on your own, so I was probably wrong on that. The purple coloring might just be to show that they recognize him as Afton.

FNAF 2 Golden Freddy is weird, because the original animatronics should be phased out by now, and Golden Freddy shouldn't be a character anymore because of it. Unless of course Purple went and put on the suit anyways, meaning he's the only person wearing it in the restaurant.

I'm pretty sure that the purple Freddy is actually Shadow Freddy.
The shadow have a minigame associated with them.
Shadow Freddy has the in-between nights.
Shadow Bonnie has the hidden in-night minigames. Or at least has his own one.

The Shadow Animatronics were most likely trying to stop/undo what the Purple Guy did.

Shadow Freddy lead the Animatronics to Afton to try and get him killed, but was unaware about the Animatronics not being able to get into the Backroom, or were reprogramed by Afton to not go into the Backroom.
Shadow Bonnie tries to free the souls of the kids.
Heck, Shadow Freddy's plan might have been for the Fnaf 1 Animatronics to get disassembled so that the physical object holding them to the Earth was destroyed, and he knew Afton would know how to disable the Animatronics.
Shadow Bonnie would then help lead their souls out of purgatory/hell so they can be free.

The Fnaf 2 Golden Freddy is not too weird, Golden Freddy, Spring Bonnie, and the unwithered versions of Fnaf 2's Freddy, Bonnie, Chica, and Foxy all were used at Fredbear's Family Dinner and were reused for Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria. They were then replaced by the Toy Animatronics, as well as the Spring Suits being put out of commission most likely to avoid any trouble over what happened at Fredbear's that caused it to close down, the Bite of 83 or the "Springlock Failure" talked about in Fnaf 3 that caused the suit to be taken out of commission.
