Protip: Every class has a few things the others do not, for more/less cost, because that in and of itself is a form of balance.

Sword having Storm/Rush/etc shouldn't be surprising, because it is basically the "spam creatures until the opponent dies" class.

Complain when Dragon starts getting a ton of Storm critters for cheaper than everyone else, or Blood starts getting better heals than Haven.

I think everyone agrees that Albert and Amelia are in the top 10 Rise cards, but I'm not sure the Midrange framework will work well for them. As it stands, Aggro Sword's performance in late DE was good enough for cards from it to get teched into Midrange and for some pros to run it over Midrange competitively.

The deck runs fast enough to put someone at 10 at turn 4, and it's going to be difficult to respond to an Albert into Alwida's. It's also strong against other aggro right now which will be a major part of the early meta since they pushed Rune and Blood, and Amelia gives it another play against aggro while triggering Fervid. A good Commander on 4 was something the deck's been wanting.

This is the list I'm going to try with it first.

I don't have much trouble with her as control shadowcraft but against most aggro decks and some combo and midrange decks she is a huge headache

And if it starts running Ancient Lion Spirit it's gonna get even worse. Similar to how Shadow is only really shit because Haven is really good, the more a popular deck counters you the more forced out of the meta you are. And with Hungering Horde, Yurius Levin Duke, Lucius Goblin Slayer (bodyguards are a 1-drop), Maahes, Balor and even Cyclone Blade; Otohime is looking a lot less enticing. Sure midrange still has some merits without Otohime but I really can't say that it'll be better than tier 2 once the RoB meta stabilizes.

Alwida's Command is the one true staple in Swordcraft. It's way fucking above curve, it's a 6/6 across two bodies with Storm and Ward. It's an explosive offensive and defensive card all in one, it puts so much fucking pressure on the board, gives face damage, can act as removal, they're also officers with all of the synergies it entails, fuck that card and anyone that complains about Otohime while staying silent about Alwida's Command is fucking stupid.

It isn't really that far above curve. 2/3 ward is about 2 and a half mana and 3/2 storm is about 3 and a half mana. Since it's packed into one card it's as if you played one card and drew the other, then played it. Cycle is REALLY cheap in SV (somewhere between 1/2 PP and 1 PP) so Alwida's ends up at around 6.5-7 PP worth of value. Very good and certainly staple but I wouldn't say broken.

Since I'm bored and people are in a theorycrafting mood I'll take a crack at it with my shitty deck building skills.

It's loosely based on what I'm already running and I worry that I might have too many evolve followers, but I think Ancient Lion Spirit will be a welcome addition to the deck in general. It gives Storm Haven an actual 5 drop while answering aggro a bit more decisively than Priest of the Cudgel. What are you guys thoughts on it? Also I was thinking about trying out Godsteel Wings, as well.

Frontguard General is pretty good against aggro Bishops and Dragons. There are way less aggro Necro players now so he'll actually protect your face most of the time. I feel like putting him in doesn't hurt that much against DS either as long as you mulligan for Otohime and Floral if you go 2nd.

Fortunehunter Feena is getting a lot of hype as a Charon replacement in Shadow but while it looks like a really good card, I'm still somewhat skeptical. Yeah it's a shadow generator but I also can't think of many 2 drops that I'd want to have in the midgame other than Lurching corpse assuming I can pop it. Charon also gives more immediate board pressure and is cuter.

Yes, especially if you went first. That's already 4 face damage by turn 2. But I like it better on vanguards so they don't die to mays. It's also useful for giving your storm followers an extra burst. I don't run more than 2 though.

If the other guy loses tempo on turn 3 using Angelic Barrage instead of building walls or putting down followers, you can just vomit more officers onto the board next turn. If they don't have Barrage, they're forced to make awkward trades. It's a lot more common for a 2/2 to get removed by single target removal, while Oathless will very likely be able to get at least one knight attack in.

Also, Forest is probably Banner's worst matchup anyway, so dies to May isn't that relevant.
