For anyone that cares enough about Wrestling Turnabout, I'm still working on getting the video archive up. However, there are some things a video cant say, so allow me to recap what i beleived to be the biggest mistakes.

Not enough incriminating evidence, while at the same time not enough to open a new possibility. The majority of the evidence ended up being circumstancial, and the main evidence left no wiggle room
>the defense
I'll give the defense a bit of slack because they seemed to be mostly new players, but that doesnt mean they're free of responsiblilty. They fell for the most common problem new DAs have, and thats not comitting to their ideas, or giving up on them too soon.

The lead pro literally ended up on the defense bench by the time we were at final boss, and I think that speaks volumes.

The first witness had a simple testimony, which was really quite good for a first timer. However, his testimony was a bit undefined, it left too many questions for the defense to go answering themselves and the witness didn't have an answer. He had motive for miles as well, but for some reason the defense didn't think it appropriate to indict him. Possibly because (meta) demands a second wit?

As the second witness, I was aiming to find a way to wrap the case up without having to put the pressure all on the new witness. Of course, that ended up backfiring, as the defense did eventually find contradictions, but couldn't make sense of them in a way that would require say, a second testimony. So naturally, instead of pressing the second witness who had a less obvious motive they wanted to bring back the first witness who's motive was actually elaborated in great detail, though never taken advantage of until the last moment. I take the blame for not being able to set up a final boss in a way that the defense could take advantage of it, and my only excuse was that I was tired and at wits end.

Of course a lot of this mess stems from one thing. Exhaustion.
Some of us stayed up well into the morning, and it showed, so who was to blame for that?
Well all of us really, but the only person who could have culled it was.

The judge was extremely passive for the first part of the case, and didn't start handing out penalties soon enough in the second half of the case. The case was over in proper when we spent what felt like an hour or more on simple contradictions like "where the witness was" and "fingerprints were present". Without the prosecution pushing for a verdict, we ended up getting SEVEN HOURS of LAST CHANCE and THIN ICE.

Learning from your mistakes, bullshitting a way around problems, and having FUN are the core principles of this game.
However, when the case stops being FUN for the majority of the people involved, unless a great TURNABOUT happens, there's no point in limping on.

Sometimes that TURNABOUT does happen, by hook or by crook. The last screen cap I posted was actually an example of a case that went on far too long, but wrapped up well because of the lengths we all went to save it from the depths.

Turnabout Wrestling had us all at our wits end, while some of us tried to salvage it, and some of us tried TOO hard to salvage it, the end result was something everyone can learn from.

Thankfully this server has made it past a year, so I think it's safe to assume we'll have plenty of opportunities in the coming year to right the wrongs of the past and have plenty of great cases.

I'll keep saying it, Judges need to fucking grow a pair.
Cases are going to keep being unnecessarily long and frustrating until Judges realise what their role entails and understand that they can - and should - end a case to avoid pointless continuation.

If it's dried up, if everyone is clearly done, if we're going in circular arguments and NO progress is being made, it's time to end and move on. None of this multiple 'last chance' bullshit.

Unfortunately, nothing will change because people will continue to think Judge is just a passive role in which you start the case and do the woosh - and most can't even get that right.

Just need to strike a balance between being too passive (not doing anything) and being too strict (penalising all banter, for example).

Mainly, it's all about making progress, so penalties are fine to make sure people keep on track and aren't constantly interrupting/banter.

Although as a result of Judges generally being so passive, most people don't give a shit about them and so don't pay attention to them.
So this isn't just a case of Judges getting better, everyone needs to give Judges more value.

The quintessential "cocky" DA, the one people flock to for ebin smug memes. Long-winded, stubborn, they expect their smug to win the case and get very annoyed if the prosecution actually fights back, leading to 4 hour circular debates.
