Alright, so I'm at Section V (ctr-httpwn) of the system transfer guide. Wanna transfer from an Old3DS to a N3DS on 11.0.

Using ctr-httpwn only seems to be necessary if the N3DS is below 11.2, and I'm having a bitch of a time getting browserhax to work on 11.0

Sony is actually pretty competent at locking down their system once it got BTFO and people got a hold of the security keys (which at the time, were fixed.) Now they're heavily encrypted.

With Nintendo, they did a piss poor job of adapting, so much so that when the 3DS got fully it cracked, someone decided to try it out on Wii U and found, lo and behold, the systems used the same exact keys.

Absolutely bone-headed move, but it basically resulted in the N3DS becoming one of the best jailbroken handhelds for gaming.

There really shouldn't be any problems and you can't skip the OTP.bin step because it's needed for encrypted/signed anything which is basically 99% of the console software and it's also nice to have cryptographic control of the device so just dump it. A9LH is just a way of gaining code execution right after boot so you can run any payloads after it loads effectively allowing you to control and modify anything that runs after it, it actually depends on your OTP.bin which is unique because it's used for signs so if you use another not from your console it won't pass the check and you will brick. Luma is the one in charge of patching the sysNAND basically making EmuNAND deprecated since you have sysNAND brick recovery because A9LH but if you're too paranoid you can still use an EmuNAND just enjoy your shit battery life out of constant reads to the SD.

Haven't done much to it since I barely understand how the cfw works, but it's on version 4.80 and I saw a new Rebug version came out

I think it's about time I start getting my head wrapped around ps3 cfw. You will need to reactivate webman and cobra via the toolbox but this is not even remotely hard.
I encourage you to doublecheck the qa flag status while in the toolbox, you never want it disabled once on, it's too useful with no downsides.
And make sure you have something like psnpatch installed to handle installing your illgotten psn loot.
doesn't hurt to have multiman either but webman will do most of your stuff.

The keys are not there, since there's not even any sort of communication between both besides remote play.

You can't even use it as content manager. Vita only supports doing that in PS3 and PC. Also, PS3 doesn't hold Vita keys because even for using the device as a content manager, you can't download the Vita games to the PS3 to install them on the Vita. Its only moving around saves and PS1/PSP shit. So it doesn't require any Vita signing.

Been trying to get browserhax working for days but the browser crashes while loading the site, load bar only makes it just past the "t" in internet at the top left of the top screen.

Old3ds, FW 9.6.0, browser version 1.7585.

I can't find anyone that has had this problem, only threads about those that have crashed once the screen starts flashing different colours, whereas I've never even seen the slider. I've tried deleting browser savedata, deleting the boot.3dx, typing in the address, typing the address while adding a "?" and a few random letters, loading the QR while wifi is off and mashing "A" as it loads.

Any ideas?

just swith from rxtools to luma for emunand first then follow the guide for the steps to installing a9lh while in sysnand. make sure you have enough room to backup both your nand and emunand. once you have a9lh you can use decrypt9wip to restore your emunand backup onto your sysnand. then you backup your entire sd card on your computer and use godmode9 launched from a9lh to delete your emunand and remove the emunand partition to free up space. then you move everything that was backed up for your SD card back to your SD card and continue by using luma set to run from a9lh. it will have cfw over sysnand instead of emunand.

The update isn't installed to the cartridge, but to the SD card.
At least, to the /Nintendo 3DS/ folder that corresponds to the NAND you're running, SysNAND or EmuNAND.

I doubt ACNL v1.4/v1.5 works on 9.2 firmware, but if you have a 9.2 SysNAND you can just install A9LH anyway.

OK guys bear with me for this one. I have 2 hacked n3ds, both with a9lh+luma. n3ds A has a 64gb card and n3ds B has a 4gb card, both in fat32.

Could I simply swap the 2 sd cards and everything would work perfectly without bricking anything? I remember reading somewhere in the guide that each device needs their own unique OTP.bin or something or else you face bricking.... does that apply here?

I don't wanna system transfer because n3ds A with the 64gb card is online/console banned.

I found out that the best way to keep games backed up and also available for multiple 3DSs, is to download and install manually CIA files. That way you download once and then install in as many 3DSs you want.

Using FreeShop is sure super convenient but it leaves no file behind, it immediately installs and erases, and the data from Nintendo 3DS/{32bit}/{32bit}/titles/0000... folders are associated exclusively to that 3DS.

Yes. When you install A9LH it allocates itself after the FIRM0 sector of your NAND. If you use Luma, the payload applies the necessary patches to SysNAND at boot, among them a patch to prevent the overwriting of the A9LH sector in the NAND, so even if you update it will still be there. Updating with no Luma/CFW that patches it is dangerous in case Nintendo deletes the allocated A9LH with an update, in which case you would need to downgrade again in order to install the hax once more.
