It can be bad as a primary on Anodyne Mages, sometimes it causes them to get way overzealous with the healing.

Otherwise it's just fine.

It's a decent secondary on non-mage pawns if you give them a stack of group curatives. But it wouldn't be my first choice.

Kinda meh on a mage, they'll get to healing anyway and frankly out of combat anodyne is best... not like that slow heal is going to save anyone mid-combat.

Death keeps spawning in the Bloodless Stockade every time I go get my pawns back after he butchers them. Is this just going to keep happening until I kill him? Should I just keep going with one or no pawns?

I usually run past the asshole unless I'm specifically hunting him. And yes, Death is a guaranteed spawn there on 1.0, and I think a frequent but not guaranteed spawn on 2.0.

You'll have another riftstone past the Stockades though, so worst case you can rehire.
>>
>>163458959
no.
other inclinations do this as well while having much better utility.
>>
>>163459984
I agree, I'm just saying a medicant secondary wouldn't be a dealbreaker for me. Definitely I'd prefer something else entirely, but I won't "nope" like if I saw Guardian.

>>163452209
So hey, speaking of memes... how about Mage loadouts? The standard is Util/Med with Legion's Might... it works I guess but it's also lame. Would much rather see Util/Mit with a stronger staff and Comestion/Levin along with Anodyne/High Haildom/Affinity.

The utility of Mages is quite swell, but that doesn't mean they have to be dead weight in combat. Literally the only reason I recommend Legion's build is because that'll probably pull in more rents, but man I wish it weren't so.

>>
>>163480596
as an MK your pretty well rounded, so choose whatever.
perhaps a strider/ ranger/ sorc
are you barely starting?
>>
>>163480942
That can always be a problem when renting pawns from here, if they're being posted to the thread then the player is almost certainly still active and levelling. Which means if you don't play as fast as them (or are running a mod) they can end up shooting out ahead of you. I honestly wish we could keep a sort of "pawn library" that would allow you to store a few main pawns so that you could keep ones from other save files still available for people, maybe at the cost of all RC earned by any that aren't you current main pawn being forfeit.
>>
>>163482241
Actually I haven't even started the save yet, I'm just planning.

Just chose MK because it seemed fun enough, but I actually don't know very much what it does, but physical damage/magical damage in one character can't be all bad.

>>
>>163482380
It worked out since I've got a lot of RC from earlier playthroughs (ended up just respeccing to a low level with dll hooks), but yeah it can definitely be a problem. The alt exp mod practically requires using the free rents from friends.

Make sure they've learned elemental weaknesses and then fight something weak against those elements while stalling long enough for them to cast without interruption.
>>
So how much stupid stuff can you do with your main pawn in the game? I'd like to make Jay and Silent Bob but I'm reconsidering it for a man and his midget so I can throw him around more. What should I do?
>>
>>163486802
Depends on inclinations, knowledge, and available spells.

If your pawn is being harassed a lot, they may go for the quick spells (or they may be trying to cast big but getting interrupted). If they have enemy knowledge they'll try to cast what the enemy is weak to.

And of course jacked inclinations will put a stop to spell casting too.

It's (sorta) new, I mean I never even saw a "skill use" inclination 'till I loaded up DLL Hooks.

I'm guessing it's the rate of skill use (genius I know) and if a pawn regularly runs out of stamina then the rate gets lowered appropriately? But I dunno, I'm just tossing out an idea that sounds like it makes sense.

>>163496924
Yeah, I'll take a peek at that and to look around for other gems.

Funny thing about pawn training, the first link you put up outlined a system that would give the appearance of something like pawn training. Train a Sorc pawn by playing a Sorc, its inclinations start to align to your behavior, and spamming Focused Bolt will keep your stamina from emptying keeping the 'skill use' inclination low (presumably causing the pawn to use basic attacks like Focused Bolt over big Sorc spells).

That all isn't quite the same as some of the more specific claims out there (like teaching a pawn how to use particular skills in specific ways) but it can certainly give the impression of 'training'.

It's old content from DA release on console.

Your version would be pretty funny tho'.

I'm presuming this Anon did, since their pawn has Sanctuary.
>>163495351

Thinking of giving it a try myself. I've heard it isn't an issue and that the only thing not to fuck with is stats, but I'd never tried it or hired a pawn with hybrid vocs myself.

What warrior skills should I use? Rank 9 with a warrior's band giving ecliptic slash and arc of obliteration
>>
>>163498543
Uh... use that, yeah. Probably one of the best rings you could get.

Slash has great knockdown utility, and you already know about Arc. Third skill should probably be Exodus.

That is the only warrior skill you don't have a choice about. It is the only way they have to avoid damage so it always has to be taken.
>>
>>163499063
Personally I find with an Arc setup I don't get all that much use out of Exodus, but there really isn't anything better either.

But if you aren't using Arc, then Exodus is absolutely mandatory.

Normally I'd say forget about it, but if you're gonna eventually make them a support mage with Legion's then sure may as well.

If you're sticking a legion's might on them and they're not doing any damage, then you don't need to worry
If you're going sorc/mage with offense then I always find it's worth a couple of levels in fighter just so they don't have to be revived every time they get clipped by something on BBI

Keeps the arrows on target even when strafing, and reduces the spread of Tenfold. I find it's worthwhile even on Ranger, but the real value comes from cross-vocation use; Assassin/Strider shortbows have ASS for accuracy while moving (or standing still, for that matter) but Precision eliminates the [in]accuracy cone so you can really raise some hell.

Going to buy this game on the sale and give it a playthrough

I played it a long time ago on console, but never got into the DLC.

Are there any must-get mods? I remember inventory management being really tedious, and quickly skimmed nexusmods and saw some more or less good stuff to fix/remove it so I'll probably do that.

Anything else you guys recommend?
>>
>>163509589
There are no essential mods. It's all just cosmetic stuff or varying degrees of cheating.
>>
>>163509229
1. Set up plot-expediting portcrystals
2. Kill Grignig for your free DF, dragon weapon, and suicide stick
3. Switch to Hard Mode to instantly NG+
4. Switch to Normal Mode and bumrush your way to Grignig with another set of gear to be DF'd
5. Repeat as desired

Doesn't take as long as you might think.
>>
>>163509747
>Doesn't take as long as you might think.
Takes longer than just using a rancid bait meat to spawn cursed dragons.
>>
>>163509589
Well, many people recommend an ENB preset of some sort. It does increase load times though, so it's up to you.

Other than that, some sort of save manager would definitely be recommended.

Beyond that, it's all cosmetics and cheat utilities really. Which is fine and well worth playing with, but after getting your feet wet with the base game.

The only spells I remember her casting is Fire/Holy Boon. I've tried fighting against wolves, which don't hit her at all, so she should have enough time to cast spells. And yes, she has full knowledge of every enemy I've tried fighting lately.
Is there a specific inclination she should lean towards as an attacking Sorcerer?

Well, that's one way to deal with a gorecyclops' helmet, although I can't tell if it's my shot or the enemy pawn that did it
>>
>>163515668
>against wolves, which don't hit her at all
Even if the enemy doesn't actually attack, if it gets too close to a pawn it will often cancel casting to jump away. Wolves also have a habit of running out of pawn ai range.

>Is there a specific inclination she should lean towards as an attacking Sorcerer?
The most common setup is utilitarian/challenger, but you could replace challenger with something else offensive if you wanted.
>>
>>163515780
clinging to the face or the nape of the neck will make them grab you, the tell is when they look both ways.
this will 100% knock their helmet off.

if you move down they knock the helmet off without grabbing you.

If it has guardian then yes you have. Guardian makes them hug your ass and only attack things that directly attacked you.

get ddda-dinput8 AND the save manager mod AND do some occasional manual backups.

In this game getting overleveled is really easy, at some point you should use Alternate Exp Table and pick a better exp plot.

I'm stuck between DD and Witcher 3. What to buy guys?
>>
>>163517230
;_;
>>
>>163519894
DD is a better game. Witcher 3 has better graphics, story and is longer.

Of the two I prefer DD but you should get and play both.
>>
>>163519894
It depends on what you like more.

Witcher 3 has stronger plotlines with some interesting choices and a much huger world, the combat is fast paced and based a lot on dodging, but it has also a bare bones customization which is a huge problem for the physical attacks, they get boring fast.
Brainless /v/tards say that the combat is shit but it's pretty good and fun once you learn how to properly use the i-frames of the dodges.

DD has an interesting and incredibly fun customization and so a varied fast paced combat. Ironically enough, dodging here sucks donkey's cock, personally I hate that.
>>
>>163520576
Also DD has the pawn system, which adds its own share of fun.
>>
>>163519894
If you want a lot of variety in your gameplay without much in the way of story at a glance, anyway, DD
If you want more standard gameplay with strong writing and characters, Witcher 3

It's all he said she said. No one who claims either side can prove anything. Even with people being able to edit the game files, trying to figure out what everything means is not easy. It doesn't help that you have people who have played for thousands of hours and established themselves as respected members of various communities just go around saying they think something is a certain way and everyone accepting it as fact with no proof.

I personally don't believe in the copying your behavior thing, but what do I know, when I looked around in the game files I couldn't even figure out the damage values of the missing skills on the skill data sheet and that should be easy compared to trying to decipher AI.

Virtuoso, Preceptor and Master's Rings will always be what they are regardless of Vocation. >>
What is the vocation that the AI knows how to use the best?
>>
>>163573042
Probably strider and ranger. Most of the skills are straightforward and simple to use and they have something available for every range.

Fighter AI works pretty well too, but no range will always be a problem.

Magic users are too afraid of getting hit so will cancel spells to jump away, and if their current target dies while casting a spell they will cancel casting instead of holding the charge while finding a new target. They also don't understand that sometimes a regular version would be better to cast instead of high, even if it means cancelling a regular version that was already charged up in order to dodge instead of just casting it on the enemy. If they have multiple elemental buffs they often won't understand which is best to use, like say you're fighting hellhounds and undead so they cast a fire buff on you since undead is weak to fire even though holy would have been better since both are weak to holy. Worth mentioning that if you are playing as sorcerer then pawns will often put very high priority on syncing spells with you so it's not all bad.

Warriors are too stupid to use charge moves well so end up with an even more limited skill set than usual. It's also just a bad class in general.
>>
>>163574792
Arwe Ranger/Striders often rented pawns?

>>
>>163575438
If rents are your priority, then low levels love mages for the free healing.
>>
>>163573042
Fighter does the most cool shit, but as the other anon said strider and ranger are more effective for DPSing bosses. That said, fighters perfect block pretty much everything that doesn't break their guard.
>>
>>163564329
yea thats the quickest way to change your vocation

>>
>>163575542

>>
>>163577515
I would say 50 and under is low enough that a lot of people will still want mages. As for activity, the game was recently in a humble monthly for $12, and is on sale again right now for $12 so there should be a bit of a boom going on.

I typically play melee, so I went Sorc to balance things out. Kept it that way when I swapped to PC.

But if I were to be honest about it, doing a same class pawn would just be better to keep inclinations straight. Not that it can't be done, I feel like I did a good job but it took work and I still have to monitor his inclinations close.

I'd suggest that if you're melee do a Warrior/Fighter pawn or spellcaster Mage/Sorc pawn. If a Ranger or Strider Arisen then I'm not sure if double yellow will work out well tho'.

Or just play what you want, it can be made to work if you want.

In brief:

Str MK is more about Abyssal Anguish and getting in there with melee attacks like a Red class.

Mag MK is more about utilizing GMC and using perfect blocks into the cannon to spam GMC storms.
>>
>>163580820
I did the bow thing on a previous playthrough, mostly as Assassin. I personally find melee fun, though I would be interested in a climbing Strider. Not thrilled with their stat growth but that can be respecced with DLL Hooks.

>>
>>163580853

>strider/ ranger/ assassin and warrior all 100% rely on str and have zero use for magic.
Does that also include Fighter class? Or does it use magic in some way?
>>
>>163581070
fighter too
>>
>>163581070
MK is pretty mixed, so you can go either way really. In my experience, Str takes hits better but Mag hits harder.

If you go full 10-100 Sorc for GMC then perfect blocking with Holy Riposte into the cannon can be risky, you'll probably end up keeping your distance and whacking the cannon instead.

If you have a bit more balanced build, Holy Riposte blocks into a GMC is absolutely nuts and will make up the damage difference while still leaving you able to take hits... just need to make sure you get enough Mag to break defenses.

If you end up with more Str than Mag, best to set yourself up more like a Red class. Let a pawn do enchants, just put a useful Riposte on your shield, definitely do Anguish, and melee like a Fighter or Sword 'Sin.

I like the strength style more, but thr magick style is stronger. Up to you, if you'd rather wade through enemies or demolish with a cannon.
>>
>>163581068
I was asking about skills, I understand Stam and Str makes for best Maw. But it's a'ight, I'll figure out something fun, was just curious what other Fighter Arisens found to be fun.
>>
>>163581408
So which vocations could I use to mix my stats better with a MK? I understand Sorcerer would give me the necessary MAT, but I dunno what else I could use to get a more balanced stat-spread.
>>
>>163581551
The best way to end up balanced is to just play whatever and not care about how your build ends up.
>>
>>163581728
I mean, I'd rather avoid leveling stats I'm not gonna use, so I dunno.

Right now I'm interested in being Sorcerer/MK/Fighter, so I'm not sure about how I should go about it. (I'd be all right in only being MK though, I really don't know how to go about in this run)
>>
>>163581551
This guy is basically right:
>>163581728

But honestly, levelling MK straight up will give the best mix. Maybe a bit of Sorc thrown in somewhere for extra Mag, but MK levels will do the trick.

Sounds like you're on the right path here:
>>163581853
Putz around between Fighter/MK/Sorc and you'll have a mixed build for GMC Perfect Blocking, I'd only make sure to have more base Mag than base Str.
>>
>>163582238
All right, I feel like I get the main gist of it, thanks for the help, man!

Last question, you recommend a starting vocation over the other?

I'm being this anal about stats even though I read that the gear was the biggest factor over performance because I want to dress based on what I think looks good, so humor be a bit more, please.
>>
>>163582470
No prob.

Starting vocation isn't going to be a huge deal, but doing the first 10 as Mage might give you the lee way to do Fighter/Sorc/MK at will without thinking much about it.

If you go with the Perfect Block GMC style, then you can style more with gear since you'll be having to block more often. Gear is the most important factor, but with MK mag skills they scale strongest with base magicka so as long as you keep that at a decent level you'll be good for any GMC build.

Totally OP for his level. And damned fine at any.

About to hit 51 and equip him with a Dominion Claw... but then I dunno even what to do. Guess the 'plateau' setting from the alt exp mod is a bit much even for me.

But yeah, he can be a game-breaking pawn for the main-quest. He's more of a BBI 1.0 pawn, tempted to just let him float in the 50s for level.

If mage pawns are most common rents at 50>, what about above? Do people typically bring mages along into the Everfall and BBI?
>>
>>163586498
Eh, a lot of players appreciate extra offensive power by then

I typically bring a Mage because it's less crap I have to carry between Anodyne and Haildom, but even then I prefer a Mage with a strong staff and offensive load out than the typical Legion's buff-bot.
>>
>>163586498
Sorcerers are popular for the big nukes and to deal with physical immune enemies. Striders and rangers are popular for being ranged damage dealers. Once you've done everything and farmed the best gear and only play to mess around you tend to stop caring about what you bring and just rent active players to help them get knowledge and rift crystals.
>>
Should I remove the dagger of my Ranger pawn when renting her out?
>>
>>163587119
It won't stop them from climbing so I wouldn't recommend it. Plus if someone wants to remove the daggers after renting your pawn they can do it themselves.

>>163588850
Well we work together really well. I've done double fighter before and this is obviously very similar. I go with my fighter pawn, a mage with one affinity and a strider. Covers all bases that way.

And if you believe in the pawn training thing your fighter pawn will learn to do the right stuff from you.

Just keep in mind hiring magic based pawns (rather than making your main pawn one) is especially hazardous as the broken inflection augment is on a LOT of them and turns them into glass.
>>
>>163589030

If you're looking for mk syngergy, then multihits will set off your cannons more. It can be tricky trying to get pawns to actually hit them on purpose, but big persistent aoe multihits from sorcerer like miasma or fulmination or maelstromif you don't mind being blind mean you can just plant your cannons inside. Striders and rangers can be good for it too if they decide to 5fold 10fold hailstorm or hundred kisses it.

If you care that much you can hire them again and release them with a proper rating before resting. You can only receive 1 rating from someone at a time so the bodybag version will be overwritten.

>>163626857
It's really inconsistent, same with striders. Sometimes they will just take out the floating medal immediately, sometimes they will dick around focusing too much on the golem. I imagine bestiary knowledge helps, but I figure with them telling me to focus on the medals scattered around that would mean they should know to do the same. Worth noting that the metal golem encounter in one of the side arena rooms of bbi has a medal outside of pawn ai range so if you aren't playing as a physical bow class yourself you may as well just leave that room.

Does the Sorcerer AI for pawns work at least somewhat well? Can they cast the stronger spells often enough?

It is highly dependent on enemies being kept away from them and their current target not dying before they finish casting. If you're also playing as sorcerer then the ai will mirror your spell quite often.

Is it a good idea to put the Challenger inclination in a Sorcerer?

To me it seems that if he focus ranged enemies, he'll likely focus on many magic-wielding enemies, therefore, enemies with innate magic resist. Is my logic wrong?

Sorcery is very strong so you don't need to worry about that. Things like gicel and bolide are also part physical.

Utilitarian/challenger for sorcerer is the most popular setup among people who pay attention to their inclinations.

Doesn't matter, enemies will eat shit unless they're totally immune; in that case everything on screen that ISN'T magic immune will still eat shit because LOL SORCERORS.

Depending on the spell it may even have a partial physical component; Bolide and Gicel do a fair bit of physical damage in addition to magic, Bolide in particular being useful against Golems and Living Assholes for just this reason.

But seriously though, a Mage is a nice convenience to have even if not necessary.

I stopped giving them panacea after I saw that happen. Instead I give them a few interventines, light cures, and secret softeners. Ends up with coverage for most ailments without getting wasted on water, plus panacea is heavier.

It came with some special edition of the original game and it was just a statue, a replica of the bigass one they commissioned for E3 one year

Capcom seems to have a habit of spending ludicrous amounts of money on commissioning big ass statues for their E3/TGS booths, cause they had that Grigori one made and then they had some for various MH games

And the Universal Studios Japan stuff is basically that expect they're articulated too

You gotta fucking see the Zinogre man, it's so cool
Probably impossible to find now since it's been 4 years since vanilla DD came out

While that works, I like just handing out shroom potages to the party and a small stack of spring waters to the Mage then going off to adventure.

>>163664813
This, a thousand times this. A Mage gets to buff so a Sorc doesn't have to, and then handles ailment/healing micromanagement for me. But yes, a particularly strong pawn does blow a Mage out of the water, and when I'm in the mood to really lay down some hurt rather than typical adventuring I drop the Mage.

I couldn't get it to work either, but search for b88ac in CE with base of 11780820, final address should be 118390cc. This is the total damage dealt to foes that you see in the in-game log, it also shows decimals up to something like 6 places.
>>
>>163685415
you'll be fine
pretend pawn teaching doesn't exist
because we don't even know if it does
>>
>>163555965
I'm pretty sure it's a meme. When this game had an active playerbase there were a lot of players testing for things like this. I'll say that the combat and AI of pawns is very complicated in how they respond to stimulants during encounters, from speech triggers, encounter composition, including support pawns, and foe phases/abilities. A lot of things influence it and first and foremost, a pawn uses their bestiary to determine how to pursue a foe. What that means is something as simple as trying to teach a mage how to spam holy focused bolt on every enemy is simply not going to work since it's not their first choice of attack against 99% of enemies in the game. An obvious example of this is a ranger without daggers equipped trying to force them to spam tenfold, which may work for enemies like eliminators, but against poisoned undead they will still jump on it in an attempt to beat it's head in with their bare fists while falling off the ledge.

>field is too long
>>
>>163555965

Rather than teaching a pawn specifics of how to combat situations I believe skill loadout and inclination setup to be the real deciding factor in how a pawn behaves. For example my mage was always receiving feedback on how she never climbed anything and was "well-trained". In reality she was using grapnel which not only is considered dark damage for decision-making, but also as a utility skill, like how reds climb and grapple enemies to distract and weigh them down. So in a case like this, instead of literally climbing an enemy, she would use grapnel, which is the far better option and weighted much greater when the AI is deciding what to do next. Support pawns can also heavilty influence how your own pawn behaves, and can shift their inclinations over a prolonged period of time. "Let's all climb atop of it!" for example from a strider in your party will encourage your own pawn into that behaviour.

I know there's lots of evidence against this, some really great pawns like Esther and Uncle were trained extensively, but I've yet to see undeniable proof in my own work.

How many levels should a utility mage with some offensive spells spend as sorcerer if it all?

A Mage will never be the primary source of magick damage, it's sufficient they have a strong staff just so they aren't dead-weight.

If you wanna go pure mage then you play as the sorcerer, which is kind of a slow-firing glass cannon, where you'll mostly rely on pawns to take the aggro away from you as you cast.
Being backed up by another sorcerer is fun too, since you can help each other cast the huge nuke spells that tend to devastate the battlefield

I just started playing Dark Arisen yesterday and I really like it so far but I have a question.

As soon as I got to Gran Soren I purchased some better armor and weapons. Nothing great as I didn't have much money.

I took one of the quests from the notice board to escort a person so I could get some experience. When I got closer to the destination progress became pretty much impossible as the enemies were destroying me with a single hit.

I ended up just going back and abandoning the quest. Unless I took the wrong path? I just followed the road which seemed like the quickest path to the destination.

So far the story quests have been challenging but easily able to be accomplished. Should I just avoid side quests for a while?
>>
>>163716201
Escort quests aren't worth it.
>>
>>163716201
In this game, you grind the main story so you can do side quests
>>
>>163716201
Side Quests are sort of a different thing from noticeboard quests. Side quests are actual proper quests as you'd imagine them whereas the quests you can nab from noticeboards are your typical RPG filler-fluff "Escort this person here." "Slay 20 direwolves." "Bring me some special ale." shit like that.

>>
>>163717240
Anodyne/Haildom/Affinity are pretty well a given.

Beyond that I'd argue Comestion/Levin and whatever other offensive spell you happen to like.

But if you're doing a straight support Mage then those last three will probably look more like Spellscreen/Grapnel and either Levin for stuns Comestion for knockdown or a second Affinity spell.
>>
>>163718101
Really? Some of those seem kinda weird choices to me. I was thinking fire and holy buffs, anodyne, halodine, comestion, and levin.
>>
>>163717240
anodyne halidom affinity no matter what
comestion levin frigor if you want offense
silentium blearing grapnel if you want pure support
I dislike spellscreen because when I tell a pawn to buff I want an affinity, but if they also have spellscreen it's a gamble which they will buff me with. Never more than 1 affinity because pawns are too stupid to choose properly.
>>
>>163719541
ah right, actually those other anons are right
don't put spellscreen on a pawn; they can never learn to stack it anyways
halidom is the one i was thinking of

The problem is actually worse; it autosaves basically every time you hit a loading screen so if you fucked up and then walk through a door you're stuck with it. Thankfully there are various mods now like the dinput hook and you can unfuck it in about 10 seconds.

>>163723769
After a point it really doesn't, especially since it only heals White hp so unless you're running the Mettle augment you're still going to need a fair bit of curatives on hand and if you're doing that you may as well cut out the middleman altogether.

>>163724983
Anodyne only healing white health was a mistake. They should have made grand anodyne persist for a really fucking long time, heal more than white HP, and be recovering stamina. Also halve the cast time.

When you start dragon-forging stuff or outlevel everything.

If you aren't having fun, go back to normal. There's no shame, Hard Modo in Dogma is universally recognized as artificial shit difficulty.

Only good news is the 2x experience gain and gold drops will have you dunking most content in short order so long as you can get past the initial hump.

Nm, found Dill. Still L137.

Bro needs some sleep resist, and to get hooked up with some L3 BBI weapons.

Goddamn leveling is slow on the alt exp mod when it's set to plateau. Half a mind to step it back a notch. Half a mil just to do L51-L52, not a problem on its own but keeping up with pawns can be a pain.

I mean, Showdown's okay if I don't want to carry periapts... I guess. Assault's decent, though I'd be better off Bursting or Mawing or Skewering...

>>
>>163741326
I saw some people talking about how messing a lot with your pawn's stats can give you problems, but that's all.
>>
>>163741326
Just make sure to use "respec" if changing your pawn's stats rather than directly altering them. Having wrong stats is the only thing that could affect you.

There are exactly three 'anti-cheat' measures in Dogma:
>Pawn stats are impossible to obtain from any leveling combination; results in 'corrupted data' error when others try to hire the pawn
>Using save-scumming to repeatedly send a hired pawn back with items, effectively causing item duping; results in a temporary 'rock ban' where sent items are turned into rocks
>Hacking or otherwise manipulating the game to do ungodly amounts of damage to the Ur-Dragon; results in any damage dealt during your battle being uncounted

And that's it. Anything you do that isn't one of those three things carries zero consequence.
>>
Best place for UR updates?
reddit doesn't say anything until it's already been in grace for 20 minutes
>>
>>163741483
Actually, for the sake of thoroughness... I'll add this caveat.

I've never tried equipping a hired pawn with BBI gear and sending them back. Or equipping my pawn with vocation inappropriate gear and having him hired.

The latter would probably be fine, sticking a main pawn with hybrid augments is fine so wearing vocation inappropriate gear is presumably also fine. I haven't tried vocation inappropriate skills either, but they should be okay.

The former I am uncertain about. Never tried sticking BBI gear on a hired pawn, never heard of anyone trying, and I'm not sure if it'd get there. I am pretty sure it wouldn't hurt the owner though, but again this is untested.

Still, from console days to now the three points I mentioned are the biggins, and really the only one worth giving a damn about is doing your pawn's stats wrong.

Game originally released back in 2012.

I'm just glad there is a /ddg/ at all, as opposed to the sad shell of a general that /acg/ is. Armored Core has more hope for a sequel than Dogma, but when I say "/acg/" for all you know I'm referring to Animal Crossing.

Dogma's in a shockingly good place.

As for Urdy, I'd suggest taking a peek every now and then if you really care. Maybe even update the tracker and posts on GameFAQs/Steam.

Can you even have your pawn wear things that don't fit their vocation? Do they still wear it when somebody hires them?
>>
>>163742968
You can with DLL Hooks or Cheat Engine.

How it pans out with hires, I dunno. Do people hiring your pawn get the off-vocation gear? Possibly? If you put off-vocation gear on a hired pawn does the owner get it upon return? Maybe? I dunno.

What Augments are recommended for Sorcerers?
>>
>>163743956
Attunement & Acuity so the Sorc hits like a sock fulla quarters.

Arcticulacy so they hit faster.

Tenacity so when their squishy asses get gibbed maybe they keep standing.

Stability so their casts don't get interrupted when a Cyclops farts.

And then the last one is your preference, as long as it isn't Inflection.
>>
>>163744061
would Gravitas and 2 ogre bone rings make a difference to stagger resists?
>>
>>163744231
Not really.

The reason is that Sorc/Mage pawns have a habit of canceling their casts and jumping away when an enemy wanders too close to them. Otherwise yes, it would help... unfortunately a pawn won't just eat a hit to make a cast.

This is also why spell sync between Sorcs is so strong, it allows a Sorc who cancelled to pick up the where they left off.

Around L50 is a good time, I think. No need to push to NG+ unless you want to, it's exactly the same except the goodwill you've built towards merchants and love interests carries through and you get a summon stone to Urdy.

I say give BBI 1.0 a go, worst case you get stuck somewhere but grab some new loot and/or forge some extra items then you can NG+ which also resets BBI.

Unless you had the foresight to run your pawn the same vocation class as yourself, you're gonna have to cross-dress while tangoing with a dragun.

Frankly, I've done it enough times on earlier playthroughs that I just cheat DF gear for my pawn now. Capcom really should've let main pawn gear get forged with dragon kills.
>>
Are there many magic-immune/resistant enemies in BBI?
>>
>>163746729
Eh... Living Armors? Sorta?

Other than them, I can't think of anything else that'd be an issue. Even then, it's only the first four bars then after that magick reks.

I'm using a Mystic Knight if this is of any importance.

You can run it on toaster.

Is fucking Bollide even any good? Seems like the random damage-areas would be kinda shit for killing just about anything.

>>163749136
Attack them until they die

>>163749148
Just try out different things until you find what you like
But if you really want to know, regular cosmetion, high fulmination and high bolide are pretty good optons for any stage of the game
>>
>>163749225
So I shouldn't upgrade Comestion to High Comestion?
>>
>>163749094
xenoverse 1 is terribly unoptimized
>>
>>163749287
If it's on a pawn, there's definitely no point in upgrading, since it takes longer to cast and doesn't add any more damage, just makes its AOE wider and higher
If it's you using it then obviously you can choose whether to use it quickly and early, or charge up and get the bigger attack, so it won't matter in the long run.
>>
>>163749148
Maingame;
Miasma
Comesion
Ingle
Bolide
Levin or another lightning spell
Fire buff if you have no mage

For bbl you want holy or lightning buff if you lack a mage.
Bolide
Comesion
Miasma
Glicel
Fulmiation
Siesm is good too

>>163749426
It's really not hard, if you're climbing on enemies then you'll be using either hundred kisses or gouge, if you're fighting at their feet you'll be using an evasive option like full moon slash or shirking offensive, if you're using a bow you'll be using lyncean sight and fivefold flurry to attack the weak points

So about them escort quests, is there any point doing them? They feel like a total pain in the ass.
>>
>>163751173
Some of them have useful rewards, like Ser Berne's quest to get the gryphic victory early on, but if you're not interested in the reward there's literally no point in worrying

No, ripostes are good for dealing with lesser monsters. AA is great for everything.

What's the most fun class for BBI content in your opinion, /ddg/?
>>
>>163763697
Either mystic knight or magick archer are my preferred pick, since they can handle both physical and magick enemies without having to rely on the crapshoot pawn AI to take them down for you, plus they are just fun to play anyway
>>
>>163763697
MA. Ricochet Hunter is so much fun. Just fire a few and things die before you even see them.
>>
>>163763697
MA.

Because of what >>163763918 said.

And it has holy focused bolt.
>>
>>163763697
MA or MK
then assassin/ strider and sorc
then fighter/ ranger

least fun; warrior or mage.
can't believe how fucking garbage arc is even with the upgrade
>>
I just bought this. Learning how the stat leveling works, now I'm paranoid about fucking it all up.

Woe was me.
>>
>Pawn inventory isn't locked to each specific pawn
There goes my plan of switching up my main pawn every play session. I've grown too attached to Rook to kick him out of the party.
>>
>>163768759
You shouldn't worry about fucking it up at all, the game is actually too easy.
If anything, at some point you should use the Alternate Exp Table to not get overleveled.
>>
>>163768759
you will in all likelihood beat the entirety of the games' content including bbl 2.0 under lv100, at that level gear will make up like 90% of your stats making what class you play as mostly unimportant.
>>
>>163769434
Wait, what's blackbitter isle "2.0"?
>>
>>163769594
bitterblack isle is the dlc area
there is a maingame, a postgame and a dlc area

once you beat bbl once it resets into 'dante must die' mode.
>>
>>163769594
bitterblack* isle
>>
>>163769870
>once you beat bbl once it resets into 'dante must die' mode.

Oh, so basically you get a sort of new difficulty mode specific for a bbl rerun, right?
>>
>>163770269
yeah
but it's more like that's the true bbl, and a first run is a one-time-only easy mode
>>
>>163770384
Alright, thanks man.
>>
>>163770269

Make sure to farm the white saurians for Moonshimmer Pelts as much as possible before you defeat Daimon for the first time. Once BBI resets, they become a rare encounter in, like, one room if I recall correctly.
