I love TW1, but I totally get why someone would have a hard time getting into it, I also did back in the day. I hated the combat so bad, I refused to play the game for a few years, but when TW2 came out, I decided to force myself through, only to fall in love with the game.

Good thing is that the story gets progressively better as you move on and around Chapter 3 things get really interesting. I also love the atmosphere and the soundtrack.

I have nothing against Yen, she is great in her own way, but yeah,Triss is amazing and I really enjoy how Geralt acts around her.

I actually prefer letting Rad win the war, it makes the most sense for the way I play Geralt and I kind of enjoy the grittiness of the North under Radovid and how it goes to shit while Geralt leaves for Kovir with Triss.

Why is the armor designs in TW3 such utter garbage compared to TW2? Only the witcher armors are decent looking.

I thought the waifu content for both expansions was appropriate. HoS is shorter, its story is more focused and it's unnecessary to shove Triss/Yen just for the sake of having them. Shani fits in nicely, she has a really fun quest and it's a cool fling for people who enjoy that.

B&W has a letter from your waifu, few romance references here and there and a very nice conversation in the end. You also get to play house with your waifu.

Is the combat in TW2 supposed to be really unfair and kind of... crappy? I started the game a few days ago(at the dragon boss now), and while I really enjoy the story and characters, every major combat encounter feels like a massive chore. Even with progression deep into Swordsmanship every fight just boils down to the same thing - cast Quen at safe distance, chip away with a few hits that feel like wet noodle-slapping, run away, repeat. All the other signs feel completely useless, and I generally just feel underpowered. Am I doing something wrong?

I really like Renew, and I'm surprised I don't face it more. Dudu is nice against certain decks, and King of Beggars or great when your deck gives you a 100% predictable result.

yep, you get progress towards your daily rewards by winning rounds, not games anymore. So it's technically faster to get more cards. You also get stuff for actually leveling up and ranking up, so it's way more generous than before.

Aen Elle weren't looking for a new world in the books.
In the past they had the ability to travel trough worlds, but they lose it somehow (Something to do with unicorns, maybe. They are also at war with them and they can jump between worlds too).
They wanted Ciri's child to open portals so they could travel trough different wolds again, pillaging and enslaving the population.

Since the White Frost arrives with those teleports it seems like other anon said that the magic Caranthir is using is primal in nature and uses the White Frost, which means it won't be safe for normal Aen Elle as the Wild Hunt has armor that doesn't get affected by frost, also Ciri flat out says the only way to move the entire population at once is only by using her.

Keep in mind CDPR kind of half-assed their motivations from the books, they did not have a White Frost up their asses but they wanted to free their Elven cousins and take vengeance upon humans and gain the power to travel between worlds again.

Some people had some theories that when Ciri escaped the Aen Elle world the magic barrier she broke to escape let the White Frost in their world, sadly CDPR did not really flesh out the Aen Elle/Ciri plotline as it deserved, the Eredin from the games is a joke compared to the book one, also Avallac'h.

Speaking of Gwent and Touissant, i just started the DLC and i'm getting rekt by Skellige decks, like holy shit.
Gwent in the north is a cakewalk, i'm using a Northen Kingdoms deck which seems to me to be the most useful one. At least it did, until i encountered Skellige.

I recently started playing ST (Since last patch) and I'm enjoying it.
Monsters is the one I play the least.

I like NR cause they have a lot of crazy and stupid shit, and love SK, cause they are the faction I started with and were very reliable and shit...
But this patch... I feel like it destroyed them.
Drawing is now terrible and many units have been directly nerfed.
I know weather SK is possible, is one of the reasons why I wanted Coral and Hjallmar, but I don't really know how strong it is.

I got her the ribbon, I rarely turn down Gwent and it seemed like a nice thing to do at the time, I saw no reason not to get it for her. If you get her the ribbon she survives Dettlaff's attack. What is also important for the "good" ending is being thorough in dialogue with her. If you read all the stories from their nanny's diary you can ask her more questions about her and Annarietta during you time in the Fableland, and she tells her the reason for being upset with her. You can later use that to get her to calm down and forgive Annarietta during the talk in the tower.
