That's old as shit information.
These days running A9LH and keeping a NAND backup is how you keep things safe. Whether you choose to run a SysNAND or an EmuNAND is up to you.
An EmuNAND is ideal if you want to tinker with shit you think runs the risk of fucking shit up like modifying the Home Menu or system files, but realistically you can do this on SysNAND too and restore a NAND backup in the case of catastrophic failure, provided you don't accidentally uninstall the A9LH hack somehow.

Two ways to downgrade.
Easiest way is with another CFW DS and any dsiware title, which is good because most of them are still on the eshop for a few shekels.
Other way is with only one DS that was patched on 11.2- you need to already own one of four dsiware games that were taken off the store months ago.

So slowhax worked and I dumped my NAND from my N3ds, however the .bin file size doesn't quite match up with the proper file sizes in the downgrade guide.

Aight guys, this is what happens. So last year I used to have rxTools, then I updated to Luma3ds following the quick .gif instructions and it functioned good until recently.

When I turned on the 3ds, it was factory reset and it wiped out all my Miis and Player coins, but all the games were good (guess the SD is fine). Why did that shit happen? Should I worry about that?

Also, I recently installed a CFW in a friend's 3ds following the guide in the pastebin and I noticed that my friend's 3ds is much quicket to boot, mine first opens up with a blue Menu Hax screen and the loads a bunch of codes. Is there a way to change that?

Im in the process of hacking my 3ds. currently im at the installing armloaderhax part and the specific instruction is: Copy the a9lh folder from the data_input .zip to the root of your SD Card.

Yes, the cfw I installed in my friend's 3ds has arm9loaderhax, I followed that guide. I did that like last month, and now that I a have more free time I would like to know if there is a way to change mine (whatever it has, Luma? rxTools crap from before? I dunno) to arm9loaderhax or just leave as it is, altho it worries me that it factory reset itself.
