Since you wanna fit Urd in, you're gonna run Hell's Unleasher for a 50% Lich chance with Nep, and then it comes down to preference, which in my case is gonna be Mordecai at 8, Khawy at 7, and an assortment of LW 2-drops.

Kit is value incarnate for discards, though I wish he discarded at 1pp so he'd have priority over 2pp drops for disco.
Auxite Dragon allows you to refill your hand, probably with the goal of draining it with things like trail of light and kit as priority mulligans so you don't lose valuables.
Owl Guardian is protection and removal.
Ancient Dragoon is a solid wincon.
Rites can be tutored out (albeit on turn 4) now, giving at least some draw.

Probability wise, running more differently costed followers with great effects is better than running only the same cost followers. So assuming your board is empty you'd have 4 pulls.
2,4,6,7 is the worst pull you could get. The worst being Sexton, Urd, Balor, Khawy.

So worst case what would happen is this:
You would get a 5/5 on the board, 4 shadows, deal 3AoE, and eat their highest atk follower and heal for its atk. That is still pretty damn good.

That's not bad at all.
I honestly hate that decklist and think it'll die on turn 5-6 most games, but it is a good example of the power of neptits and building around her.

I really want to know if Nephthy's chooses a value before checking the follower, because if that's the case I might try a list with singleton Mordecai.

Not really, though - the best way to max her probability is to make it stop being a probability at all. Played on an empty board, she'll pull 4 different costs of followers; if you only run 4 different costs of followers, she'll pull roughly the same things every time. For example, say your lineup of followers is Bellringer, Skullcrade, Corpse, Urd, Unleasher, Khawy, and Mordecai. With just these, your Nep play is as follows (not taking into account followers that are already out of the deck):

2pp follower: 66% chance to draw a card, 33% to destroy a random enemy follower
4pp follower: 50% chance to summon a Lich, 50% chance to brick with Urd
7pp follower: 100% chance to get Khawy's effect
8pp follower: 100% chance to get Mordecai

As long as you can resist running followers of other costs, this is the most consistent Nep will be. Of course, you could drop Urd for 100% Lich chance, but personally I think she's useful enough to risk missing out on a 4/4 vanilla body roughly half the time.

Let's check the math on this. Say she does calculate based on mana cost first.

So for ease of math say you play neptits on turn 8 and never, ever get any extra draw.
No widows, no soul conversions, no going second.
and say you never get mordecai on your mulligan.
Then you have a 22% of drawing him before you play neptits.

If you draw 2 extra cards, so say a single soul conversion, then there's a 28% of having him, and 32.5% if you draw 4 extra cards.

I'm not sure. You're looking at probably 1/4-1/3 games where it will be impossible for nep to get him. But you also greatly lessen the chance of just drawing a mordecai before turn 8, which is basically a dead draw as opposed to multiple mordecais for straight . I do not know, it might be worth doing him as a one-off.

But you have to understand the following: You need to put things on board to survive until turn 8. Just running removal and making her your only wincon would be really dumb. Having more choices for what can happen and having more actual good effects makes it so no matter how many followers you used before, the effect will still be good. Like this you have a 50% chance to brick with Urd. With my example, you have around a 12.5% chance to brick entirely. My point is that more variety would convey similar effects and brick less often.

Follower of Darkness, for example, is basically having extra Hell's Unleashers. This means your Best case scenario will also improve.

Even in the worst case scenario, it's 4 Shadows, a Card Draw and destruction of something (maybe even board clear with Balor's Effect), with 2 cards that don't do anything. Don't know about Necroassassin in a Nep deck though. I think it would fit the other varieties of Shadow a bit better. Probably Atomy Shadow, since you have that new ghost spell and more disposable things.

Shadow's basically the king of grinding, you just wear out the opponent by either eating their followers with removal and trades or eating their spells with sticky followers then plop down Death's Breath, Lord or Mordecai and hit them until they're dead.

Except you're playing Shadow, so not only can you coast on your great removal options (Foul Tempest, Deathbrand/Pact of the Nethergod, etc.) but you can just use spells that summon followers, such as Death's Breath, to avoid having more followers clog your Nep chances.

Also, no, that doesn't make your best case scenario improve at all, because as soon as you add in a 5th follower cost you're rolling with a 20% chance of not getting Mordecai, and that just goes up every time you add another cost. Ideally you want to be closing the game on turn 9, and that's not gonna happen without Mordecai - not with how many AoE boardwipes are about to be running about. In my case, the best-case scenario is a draw or a removal, a Lich, Khawy's heal+removal, and Mordecai, while my worst-case scenario is a draw or a removal, no Lich, Khawy's heal+removal, and Mordecai. Meanwhile, your best-case is roughly the same, but your worst-case is dreadful things like nothing from Sexton at 2, one Lich from Follower of Darkness at 3, nothing from Urd at 4, and hopefully a Balor/Khawy/Mordecai in the last slot, which is infinitely less effective than my worst-case scenario.

tl;dr it's better to sacrifice follower pressure on turn 3 than to deal with high probabilities of missing Mordecai on Nep, which in many matchups will outright cost you the game.

Control the board, go face pretty much only when they don't have a follower to trade with.

Foul Tempest is great anti-zoo, Playful Necromancer is awesome as a drop on turn 4 if you're second. Charon, LotF, etc.

Your aim is to be able to put the board in a state where you can do 10-15 points of damage in a single turn to win, or try to outvalue and grind them if you can't. Don't be afraid to use Cerberus cards to trade, the +2 or straight 2 can do miracles for maintaining board state.

Because she doesn't hit your board and oftentimes I find myself with a bat or two leftover on my board at the end of turn 6-7, so anything that she doesn't kill outright and turn into pings, will be damaged enough that I will likely be able to kill it with a token ping. Will that still be a thing now that all these AoE's are being added? I dunno.

But having a turn 7 enemy-side only AoE that turns all kills into face pings could definitely see use in blood. A slightly weaker demonic storm with a 4/5 body, that is a must-remove on the scale of bloody mary, and is really bad to trade into for killing?
That can easily see play in control, it's fucking great.

You play this after they play tia and you clear at least everything sans Eve, deal 3dmg to face, and if you evolve into tia, it's a full board clear and 4 to their face.
You take no dmg to anything else on your board, nor any face dmg and are left with a 6/1 empress.

Well, I'm talking from a mathematical standpoint. We don't know what's going to work until we playtest. Maybe you're right, maybe I am. We can only wait and see for now.

Removal isn't going to win you the game though. Remember they have 20 health, and that if you haven't made a considerable dent into that by the point you pull Nep out, you aren't going to win.

They can easily dispatch Nep, leaving you with a Mordecai and maybe some small amount of health. Having just what you said would pretty much guarantee death early because you can't deal damage for your win con to work.

You can't depend just on Death's Breath either, since the board wipes in this expansion came in big numbers.

What I imply with variety is: Nep is just there to help, and not to win you every single game. You also have to think you need to actually draw her, and if you don't, you're screwd.

I'm not saying my list is godlike or anything; it's really heavy. But having at least an amount of variety is better than only running 5 or 6 different followers and being way too far away from lethal.

You do have a point in the aspect that if it doesn't have RNG, you're guaranteed a good result. Although, probability states that the average result in a large pool of variety is better than the best result in a single choice result, for the simple reason that situations differ.

The other LW followers are there to be filler until you get to turn 8, pitching small amounts of damage enough for you to close in the game with Mordecai or Nep.

You must also consider that your board may also not be empty, and that Nep might not be a viable play. Having other choices to tech in at that time is better than being stuck with the rest.

But we'll have to wait and see. Like I said, you may be right, or I may be right. We can only find out after we play the actual expansion.

Okay first I'd say 3x wraith or none, fact is that 2x feels like you're half-assing it. You're gonna have a 50% less chance of having one turn 1 where they're great for board and less chance of having them turn 6+ for Mary Combos.

I'd say cut Night Horde down by 1, it's a good card, but running 3x feels like overkill. 2x is enough that you can reliably draw it when you need it, but not that it clutters your draws.

Yes you should get another Queen Vampire, she is amazing and just makes bats so much better. Those 1/1 wards are so versatile.

I'd cut an alucard, he's great but 3x feels a bit much as he isn't very spammable.

I'd honestly say add another Temptress Vampire. She wins you so many control matchups. She, combined with Revelation and Mary, allow you to actually control the game against any non-dshift control deck. She singlehandedly wins many elana fights. Take out a fatty, heal, and get a 5/5 on the board, or unavoidable 5dmg to face. She's great as a finisher or at grinding your opponent down.

I have no idea how you can think she's too slow.

Fair enough, you make some pretty good points. I still don't personally think the average result of your list will beat the best result of mine, but you have a very strong point in that the deck's going to need to be playtested in the new meta before such things can be so clearly defined. Maybe having more followers will be necessary due to how many will be drawn out of the deck before Nep hits, or maybe certain matchups will need things like Balor to be winnable.

I see Nep as much more of a wincon I suppose, like Seraph in a pure Seraph Haven list; a 5/5, an undying 5/5, a heal, 1-2 removals, maybe a 4/4, and maybe a draw seems like it'll be enough to close a game, since most of these new AoEs stop at 3 damage, which won't ever fully clear the presence Nep establishes. But again, I could end up being wrong here, in which case you'd be right and Nep would just be helping you establish dominance in the late-game without actually being a wincon herself.

Long story short, I agree with ya. We won't know for sure until we get our hands on the cards ourselves, so all we can do here is speculate. Still, speculating is fun_, so thanks for providing a perspective I didn't consider before.
