I honestly doubt it.
Alot of the discard cards are "good" if you few their purpose in a discard deck.
But look at it this way, THe deck is literally worthless unless rites is up on the field.
Uriel only comes out on turn 4.
Basically, the deck does nothing until turn 5. or 3 if you're lucky.
Against combo that means you have 3-4 turns to win until you die.
Against aggro it means you'll have basically no HP by the time your engine starts going.

The only way to solve this would be to give Dragon good draw that lets you use discard effects outside rites being up. but they didn't get that, so in short, because of how strong combo and aggro is, discard will never be more than a T3 deck.

Is Pascale + Dwarf Alchemist a good idea for Aggro Rune or is that still not consistent enough?

I mean, Aggro Rune can probably get off Pascale's effect better than any other Rune deck since it can throw a ton of zero cost bodies onto the board for her to buff but she's a dead draw without Earthrites but too many Earthrite cards ruins the consistency of the deck.

I've practically given up on shadow as a class after seeing Cygames actually has no idea what to add to it for viability
It's already the least played class in the game and has absolutely no way to close out games beyond the cerb howl combo. Nothing else they play even comes close to winning games for them.
Pretty much shadow's entire kit is based around getting and keeping board presence; completely and utterly useless in a meta dominated by haven and Themis, and soon to be dominated by easy access to 2-3 damage AOE for most classes. Death's breath, one of Shadow's core cards, is completely dead due to this and the new Blood card.
Even more insulting is Shadow Reaper not working with phantom howl ghosts unless they have Sexton buff, making it a THREE card combo. So essentially it's an extremely shitty delayed roach combo that no one will ever use.

The lack of a proper 4 drop is honestly just insulting at this point. Hell's unleasher is often a better 4 drop evolve than playful

The unfortunate thing about this expansion is that in large the legendaries and cards have tried to promote alternative playstyles, fine for most of them which already had viable playstyles - Silver Bolt Forest, Aggro Rune - but not really for Disco Dragon, and now Suicide Shadow.

As a shadow main I didn't really need any encouragement to kill myself but okay.

I looked through the new cards to try to figure out what kind of playstyle they were trying to promote, I really did. The only thing we got was some decent last word effects that can be stacked for a nephthys coinflip at turn 8. Not a lot of interesting stuff, no Clash effect, and the 3 mana summon 2 ghosts seemed alright but is a bit expensive to combo with, for example, Necroassassin. There just really isn't that much to work with that provides something new that Shadow didn't have before. Mid and control shadow suffers mainly from not being able to close out a game and we just didn't get that.

Nepthys can be made not a conflip if you specifically build your deck around it. Play nothing but spell cards to hold the fort, pretty much, and then have your only followers be, say, Attendant, Khawny, Unleasher, Neptits and Mordecai to on turn 8 kill the highest health follower and heal, get two 4/4 liches, a 5/5 Neptits and a 5/5 Mordecai. Huge, huge turn 8 swing that's a lot better than Mordecai, so it will probably save control sha- AND SO OUR PRAYERS BECOME VICTORY.

Ghosts can't be combo'd well that easily unfortunately due mostly to their enhance effect.

But I can see a deck built from using the suicide cards + last word cards. [Necroassassin/Lichify] + [TwoGhosts/CuteConjurer/Lurcher/Attendant]

Attendant is quite noticeable for letting us get liches out faster and play Urd on curve. Attendant + Urd or Attendant + Lichify (two liches turn four? Now just Charon turn five for even more lich goodness).

Necroassassin has good synergy with lurcher/attendant and can be played with them on curve - neither can be used to suicide normally without ward effects, so I can see Lichify making a comeback with its summon 4/4.

It's just a shame they're really focused on giving us shadow players stories to tell our friends because none of us have any.

Yeah I originally thought a Nephthys-based deck full of last word followers with the gaps filled with spells could have been interesting. The 3 mana lich creator + Urd is a good combo on curve but requires both cards early on.
But with no apparent changes to existing cards Dshift and Elana/Seraph will probably keep the games shorter than 10 turns, and the random effects on last words will be disadvantageous unless we somehow always have enough shadows for Foul Tempest clears when we want to trigger them.

Nep can be made very reliable by virtue of the fact that it only draws one of each cost of four costs. If you just have those cards in your deck, then you're guaranteed to get those effects when she's played.

When the deck is properly built 'random' doesn't describe her any more really than Khawy's effect, in a sense, or Maid drawing Banners.

The question is whether the deck is worth building and the answer is... well, maybe? I can see it doing quite well in theory in certain matchups. If the meta splits and Seraph stops being a thing as much in Elana decks (which are all hybrid) thanks to the amulet tutor then maybe it'll be better. Neptits is basically just a way to play Mordecai with a much, much bigger impact to swing the game around.

Playing Shadow with only those four followers sounds rather painful, though. I guess we'll see.

I understand how the Nephthys pull works, but it would require some serious deck thinning/structuring to get consistent effects you want out. If you have followers in your deck that cost from 1 to 8, she will pull half of those, not to mention if you have multiple types of followers of the same cost, that dilutes the desirable effects further. The difference is that Lord of the Flies is a legendary that gets used in only one specific deck archetype and that happens to also be an archetype that isn't even top tier.

Meanwhile animal companion is a staple in literally every hunter deck ever made, and has a common rarity so everyone who plays the game -at all- has multiples of it.

Not saying shadowverse doesn't have RNG to it, but it's sure as hell less RNG than curvestone is.

I don't doubt that you CAN win with a Nephtits, but it probably won't be a competitive deck to stand up with the tops. At least Blood got some love for their existing decks. What they are forcing on shadow is relatively new.
Other crafts can afford to branch out to different playstyles because they already have good decks that won't suffer because of it.
