Non-Weak ring if you have the desire to use launchers.
Hunter Gear Save ring if you ever want to seriously play Hunter.
Whirlwind Ring if you ever plan to use Fighter Double Saber seriously.
Tech Parry maxed is fucking amazing if you ever want to do Force stuff.
The XQ2 ring is a must have for Fighter and Gunner. Remember that you don't have to actually clear it on Fighter or Gunner as all the rings are the same.
Dual Blade Snatch ring is pretty nice once you get use to it but I hear the PB Homing ring isn't completely terrible so it is a toss up.
That's all for my experience with rings. I hope someone with a bit more than I can help you more extensively.

XQ2 ring gives you a pathetic amount of damage increase and damage reduction but gives 10% crit rate which is great for those two.
It makes your photon blades home into where you're targeting. Snatch adds a damage component to Photon Blade's dodge/shift directional movement which does decent damage.

Whittle has ~200 less sdef and 12% less ranged resist than crafted saiki. That's pretty significant. It doesn't really matter how easy HP affixes are to get when the fact is that those affixes are taking the place of another affix that you wouldn't need otherwise.

By playing the game? It's pretty easy to make money just doing stuff.
I leveled my first character to 75/75 doing whatever 50k+ dailies popped up along the way, TACOs, XQCOs, and Gathering weeklies as well obviously. Once I was able to do Ult Amd and put my Gix CFs on CD I started leveling a second character thinking I could double tap on CFs, but those turned out to be Ship wide so I stopped leveling it around the mid 60s and am now only doing all the Meseta COs on it.
Two characters is around 10-15m a week from COs alone. The rest is a combination of meseta pick ups from the ground, this shit adds up fast when you are grinding, and selling affix fodder mostly gotten from the Christmas EQ.

They added significantly more things that can oneshot you if you're at minimum hp and low def. "Dodge literally everything" is unrealistic even for the best of players. The important thing with having a little bit of HP or higher defense units is turning a 1shot into a 2shot, so you have a chance to quickly heal and be good as new. This is legit the prostrat that pretty much every tryhard uses in XH. The no HP ever meme is just that, a meme from the past.

I was going to say how wrong this is based on what I was told (almost all tech looking damage is actually ranged including Loser's attacks) but actually looking at it that's actually wrong, so fuck the guy who told me that. Lets talk about this for a bit: considering Matoi was clearly a loner during that time warp episode I can't imagine this doing anything other than detailing brief shonen-tier skirmishes that end with no winner against moled-Apprentice.
Mostly because she was the only active Falz around during that time period so unless they want to pull a few out of their ass and potentially retcon some things, that's not going to be anything.
Unless I'm failing to remember Elders time spent sealed incorrectly, though it's relatively implied that Regius and company are beyond their middle ages during the episode spent time warping around and that Elders probably having been sealed for at least quite some years.

when demise was THE thing to do, I was spamming it like mad, hardly ever missed a run, never ever saw an orbit unit. when PD was THE thing to do and I missed basically no chance to run it, I never saw a single invade unit drop. when they added austere units and demanded you have invade units I tried spamming some more and still didn't get a single unit. ditto when there was the spam session surrounding ray weapons. saiki? untill bonus quest they may as well have been a myth because dozens of boosters and hundreds of gigglegundams later, normal and rare, I never saw a single unit, and even with BQ I've managed exactly one set and that's not enough to gear four characters.
at least with orbit I got to fucking MAKE a unit, even though it made me have to put up with people fucking up and getting low rank clears even more.
this man's need for getting gear to be a months-long struggle that regularly proves pointless because the shit doesn't drop before it becomes useless is fucking cancer.

That kind of uber-rare gear is basically just not relevant, and not even worth devoting thought to, much less anger. As far as I'm concerned, they don't exist.
They're basically a nice potential surprise, but I'm not betting anything on ever getting one. I have zero qualms with gearing my characters with "welfare gear" like Ray units, Gyx, etc. All of that is more than capable of handling whatever the game will throw at us for the foreseeable future.
Just like nothing in the game required 12* after Elder, nothing in the game will require 14* gear for a long time. And by the time the changes, there will be more options.
