My problem with DAing, small issue mind you, I don't know when a contradiction DOESN'T exist. It always trips me up in the actual games when say the detective just talks and you're supposed to press every statement (even the ones that do not look important) and will move on to the next scene. Because of this I never try to challenge the detective.
In addition, I get scared when my objections don't result in a new testimony or bringing back the old witness.
Basically because AA spoonfeeds you direction I am nervous I have to call all the shots.

In the games, we know that Phoenix always brings with him a pen to trials. It can then be assumed he's got a sheet of paper he can make notes on. Therefore you should get a sheet of paper and a pen so you can take notes of things you're suspicious of, possibilities that weren't fully explored. You can then call the shots you need to call.

I generally make notes that I can refer back to, or I take a look at the doc to help me remember stuff. The main issue with lead DA is that, unlike the games where you find the contradiction, object, and let Phoenix do the talking, you actually have to do the talking. And that's one of the harder parts - because you need to have something of an idea of where it's going to go.

Doesn't even matter if it's made up on the spot, you just need to have an explanation for the contradiction, and what it means for your case.

Paper notes are also way better than a clunky computer based set. I find writing things out is so much better for memory than typing them. It's harder to remember things written by someone else, that you've copied, than it is something you've written with your own two hands.
