Pretty much, once you're set up you can manage usually. But with no support you're a light class with low damage and slow speed. Gunslinger helps with soloing but you also need metal which can go quick when your minis die before building.

Shotguns are reliable, justice can be ok, ranger isn't much, and pomson is pomson.

Pistol is good, wrangler is good, and shirt circuit is good but also a metal eater.

Really, balancing a game around 6v6 comp will make it unbalanced for 12v12 casual play. So we can either balance it for 6v6 and make the game unfun for 12s or we can balance it for 24 player pubs and have the comp community work out the rules themselves.

actually, if you balance the game around 6v6 it works pretty well for 12v12. but balancing it for 12v12 breaks 6v6. eg. balancing it for smaller player numbers means making it harder to carry without being a god in 12v12. (a lot of unbalanced items make it really easy for bad players to do as well as good players in 12v12. this is an upside if your target audience is really bad at video games)

If Sentry is onfoot and at the open (think about middle points at 5cp) you can sneak turtling Engineer to get him killed with a Bonk rush by circling around.
If it's high up or at the end of a narrow hall you'll need to find a way by abusing jumps to get around it and drop the Medic behind that line before he builds über.
If it's around a silly corner you can destroy it by just peekshotting it with Scattergun to lure Engineer out to you. High up Sentry places generally have one weak point.
If it's at the last point and high up, there's only little things you can do; tracking a DR-Spy and engaging divers and pick classes off from your Medic would be your priority.
Regardless, you can still Bonk rush inside (unless too many sentries at different angles) with team, act as an attraction center for your teammates to camp inside for harassment.
