Dawnhammer is probably the easiest to use and the least situational. Though Impulse is pretty good too. Gladio will probably be consistently hitting over damage than the other two. Ignis can hit damage cap easily if you are having him spam magic.

Also does anyone love the Osmose strategy in the Arena? It makes it so that Refia/Cecil can't Curaja/Stona/Esuna and neuters Exdeaths as well as temporarily remove Lightning/Luneth/Gilgamesh/Elza/Ramza from the equation. Makes my DW WoL a deadly status spreader with the Thorned Mace and Golem Cane. I personally would suggest any of the SNES FF games, IV having the best story and characters, V having the best gameplay, and VI being a middle ground.

X-2 is alright, has a great battle system but the plot is absolute garbage. Can't speak for the PC port, but it's probably fine.
IX is comfy and while it's slower with combat, it's still pretty solid and fun. PC port is fine from my understanding because it fixes some of the slow down.
Tactics is vastly better than TA (For that matter, TA2 is fucking great too) and my understanding is any version is fine, though I personally prefer the original.
V is a must play. Characters are great, music is great, plot is iffy but fun. GBA with sound restoration patch here.
III is hit or miss to many. I find it solid, but it's definitely dated. I've personally only played the DS version, but the steam port is the same aside from not having to deal with mog mail bullshit to get onion gear.
IV is good. Really easy and not very complex, but fine. DS/steam version is an entirely different story though. I'd recommend SNES if you don't care about challenge and PC/steam if you like your asshole getting reamed.
VI is...eh. It's a solid game, but I personally found it rather overrated and messy overall. Too many characters and Kefka was bleh, but that's just me. I think SNES and GBA are fine for it, but I'm unsure.
XII is...difficult. It's a lot of missed potential and has a lot of fuck ups that really mess with the game. A few of my issues are dealt with in the zodiac version, but I haven't played it myself. I found the world too big, a third of the party was utterly worthless to the plot (and Ashe really didn't need to be an active member). Music was bleh, especially compared to Tacics which was the same composer and a lot of the side stuff was obnoxious. I'd say emulate the zodiac version or just wait for the remaster which I think comes to PC and PS4 at the same time.

I have a 565 ATK Lightning and a 502 MAG Exdeath. Them Power and Smart Pots.

My Arena map currently has a Burst Pot as the whole grid unlocked reward so I better get to awakening my LB grinding Cecil fast to 5*. He's currently LB 15/15 4* level 14/60.
