The moose almost killed me once, I was heading to town in the Ferndale in the middle of the night and it jumped out, causing me to shit my entire colon. Thankfully I'm terrified to driving that thing offroad at more than 25 mph so I didn't hit it.

Ey guys heads up, if you are experimenting with the old MSC save editor (1.01) and tired of needing to point the program to the right place, the dev updated the program and it should grab the right directory when looking for the file.
I don't see why he didn't just grab the file as well since it's in the directory. Also added some other shit as well like Satsuma support and places of interest coordinates

I actually have trash in mine. I went through a lot of DOT 3 and coolant fixing leaks and upgrading. I also found that I was low on oil recently. I don't think it leaked because it didn't happen that fast, but do you lose oil when you backfire? I got my car a little hot during a rally and checked fluids after to find was low on oil.

if you remove objects from satsuma using the save editor, some objects will become "stuck" and impossible to remove by the player. you have to use physics (ie ramming it with other objects or gravity) to move them

It has an effective top speed of 100 kmh due to the suspension, which I don't think is fast enough to be able to win. It handles well enough, but I think you would lose a little too much time on the straights and gentle turns in the second half (past Loppe). If it stayed controllable up to 120 or 140 with a suspension update, I think you could. I've timed myself before and been almost competitive.

The problem is when bolt tightness % and bolt values are not equal. When dev broke hood, bolts were set to 0,0,0,100%, but tightness was 8*4=32. Same with air filter and stock carb, 0,100% bolts, but 16 tightness.

Save and load tends to throw objects around. I've only ever seen them lined up neatly like that but I also tend to go a long time between saves; I would not expect them to look that pretty if I saved and loaded between completing the task and collecting the reward.

First thing you should be doing is heading out on the road, actually. Take the van into town and find the store. Use the map on the wall over the phone to find a route between Kesselinpera (Where you live) and Perajarvi (Where beer comes from). Take the jerrycan in the garage with you to fill with gasoline, and the one in the structure near your neighbor's house for diesel.

If you successfully made it to town, you should see some self-service gas pumps. Fill both cans and the van up. Go inside and buy 3 bottles of brake fluid, 2 each of coolant and motor oil, the fan belt, and as much beer, sausages and mosquito spray as you think you'll need. Don't be afraid to blow all your starter cash on this, since work orders will be coming in sooner than later for you to collect more.

Take your time with the project car, teaching yourself by careful study and diligence. A good first goal would be putting the suspension together, since everything that forms it is right by the door (Don't forget the tires in the back corner, though). Use the floor jack to work one end of the car up at a time, then fit everything together and tighten all of your bolts. If you managed to give your car frame 4 sturdy wheels, then you're well on your way to owning a car that is truly your own.

The first thing I always do is build the suspension with the car sitting on the ground. If you put the subframe and front components up to spindles on, then the trailing arms and springs, then the front struts, the dent-able body gets lifted off the ground by the indestructible suspension components in an order which prevents any body damage.

No prob. This hilarious screw-up is actually helping me learn a bit more on how to mod this game.

I got it working btw. The raw file you uploaded couldn't be read by the UABE so what I did was reinstall the muffler mod via your mod installer, opened that in the UABE, extract the raw file that replaced PATH ID 868 which is actually the seat lever thingy, but the muffler mod overwrote it, opened my original assets file, and replaced 887 which is the racing muffler with the raw file I extracted from the borked file.

Next up I'm gonna try to figure out how to retexture it to chromie goodness.

I've set it to 3,0 now. Rally tires, racing carb and muffler. Tuned engine.

Needs quite a bit of revving to get into 1st/reverse when cold, but runs fine otherwise. Gonna try the highway now.

It's quite possible to make it hit the limiter, nearly had it after about two laps around the lake. I had to dodge a van taking this turn (right after this screenshot) which messed up my angle and killed me.

Not saying it's practical, but it's very possible to do.

So, I've done a bit of testing regarding this. Seems like the windshield has quite a bit of an effect on your ability to reach your top speed. With a ratio of 3,3, a tuned car and windshield in place, I am easily able to hit the rev limiter in fourth, doing 220++.

If I use the exact same car with the exact same stats/parts but remove the windshield, the car will refuse to go above 5500rpm in fourth, topping out at around 170km/h.

Is drag modelled into the game? Do we know? Has the dev confirmed?
