I've first developed Exploration and when I could I've colonized island in caribbeans. Later I went for North America provinces - started with Quebec and Manhattan. When I've had enough provinces in NA I've sold everything except Nantes in Europe and moved capital to Quebec (later also sold Nantes). From there I've colonized and conquered Northeast and Canada.

My navy is literally only useful for fighting weaker countries, I had no idea that capital ships could only be built in home ports.
I think I have maybe 200 divisions, with a balanced main army in South America, an airplane/tank doomstack in Africa, and a regular army along with a plane army in Asia.

Whats a good strategy for playing Texas in Vicky 2? In HPM its pretty much impossible to outright win the Texas civil war (unless the MExicans refuse the treaty of Velasco and you bring the US in). My current strategy has been to wait until the US sphered me and then to bring them into a war to reclaim all my cores + a mexican colony or two. Then the plan would be to go full democracy and get as much immigration and pop growth as possible. That still leaves the problem of how to keep the US from breaking the alliance and annexing you 10 years down the road if they so chose. Unfortunately annexing MExican states isnt really a good option for bringing up your military power as it also reduces your intellectual percentage to like .5% crippling your research and literacy gain.
