I think there's for both sides. On one hand, having characters with 0 nuance to them can get pretty boring, but having too much nuance can make them to complex to follow. And only a Sith deals in absolutes. I think as long as a character has an easily identifiable personality that can change and adapt to any situation, it's perfect.

The small amount of Eastern fans that drew Archie stuff seemed interested in just a tiny handful of characters due to the differing taste. Primarily Scourge would be the most 'popular', then Mile (aka Anti-Tails) and then maybe Shard. Anyone else? Good goddamn luck buddy.

With the reboot both avoiding the 'evil twins' idea because of the threat of lawsuit and it going out of its way to not make characters the same species as the game characters, none of them have caught their interest, not even close matches like Gold or Sonar.

I highly doubt that. Lost World was Pontaff's first shot at writing a plot and look how that was received. Sega will probably either regress them back to writing dialogue/some cutscenes, or remove them entirely. Of course, even without Pontaff, Colors and Generations would still be empty games with little cutscenes that do nothing for the plot.

The problem I have with the comic is not "screentime" of Archie OCs, it's the number of those created. Even if it's just background characters, it's WAY too much. They could have introduced 80% of it later and have some arks to use before new games are made. If you want to get it in our heads so early, then just hint at it. Egg bosses are great and pretty much do that. It's everything else that is too much. Did we really need Spark of Life crammed into the Unleashed plot?

This. Besides, the arcs are always 4 issues long so if anything, 1/3 of the year is dedicated to those characters. In fact they tend to get more focus there than the OCs in the main book. Also, like you said, the characters are actually portrayed right. Post reboot Archie has done more justice to Knuckles than anything since, fuck, SA2.

It's funny, you mention Riders and I realized that the Rogues are the only game characters outside of Nega and Elise to not show up in the reboot (And Heavy and Bomb), and I think that's crazy. The comics literally use fucking everyone, and I love it

Honestly you could make her a contrast to Sally and it'd work that way. Sally's the field leader who gets her hands dirty but doesn't have complete confidence in herself and lets emotions cloud her judgment, while Elise stays in the comfort of her castle, but leads her armies without letting her self doubt and emotions cloud her judgment. Both had to deal with losing their fathers at a young age, except Elise never got hers back. But while Elise may seem like the better leader, she has trouble connecting with others. They can learn from each other and become better people

I have bad vibes about this.
He's spent 300+ hours on that video but he doesn't know how to use Unity (which he implies he's going to use to make it)? He'd rather have spent all that time learning it and making a video with actual gameplay.
He's made a concept video which is full of gimmicks while he doesn't even know what will he able to do (I'd rather plan of making something knowing my own limitations beforehand), I don't know if he even has any knowledge of programming, and maybe he thinks he will be able to make vidya just after watching a couple of tutorials. He even says that he will conduct interviews to get collaborators, as if he would be in a higher position and people would be honored to have a position there.
The video doesn't even look that good, the artstyle clashes greatly between the sprites and the scenery, the movement feels slow, jumping through those rocks looks more annoying that fun, and don't get me started on that dumb rock-breaking gimmick.
