>"Before we go any further...let us turn off these lights, these damned inventions of the white devil. Let us return to our natural state...in blackness."
>Lights are turned off, but bonfires are being lit on stage and in the audience
>Meanwhile, Louis has stripped naked, and a huge cauldron is being brought on stage.
>All the blacks in the theatre start chanting "cuck cuck cuckcuckcuck cuck cuckcuckcuck..." silently at first, but growing louder steadily.
>"In this cauldron is a sacred Nubian concoction made from the feces and semen of black men, and the blood of white male babies. It gives me crazy sexual powers. Sometimes I even ingest it."
>Louis cowers his pale, naked body with the foul liquid from head to toe, massaging himself and moaning audibly. His tiny white dick is getting more and more erect.
>"cuck cuck cuckcuckcuck cuck cuckcuckcuck..." the chanting continues
>Louis starts jerking off violently. Some white people look shocked, and get up and try to leave, but the doors are locked.
>As the chanting grows louder and louder, Louis keeps pleasuring himself more and more aggressively, his eyes turning back in his head as he becomes more and more ecstatic
>Finally, just as he reaches climax, he is handed a huge horn, resembling a BBC. Louis puts it on his lips and....
>"OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO"
>At Louie's signal, Zulu warriors emerge from the shadows of the theatre, slaughtering every white male with spears and stone knives. All the white women are being dragged towards the stage, where dozens of black bucks await with pulsating, throbbing erections.
>At this point Louis is being double penetrated by two huge black men. He picks up the mic...panting

>"Before we go any further... let us tear down these fake borders, these damned inventions of the Osean devil. Let us return to our natural state... empire."
>Borders are erased but engines are being revved on the stage and on the runway.
>Meanwhile, the Prince has donned a flight suit, and a huge Belkan flag is brought on stage.
>All the Belkans in the theatre start chanting "clay clay clayclayclay clay clayclayclay..." silently at first, but growing louder steadily.
>"On this flag are the sacred colors of the Belkan Federation made from the dyes of Belkan clay and plants, and the blood of Oseans. It gives me crazy aerodynamic powers. Sometimes I even ingest it."
>The Prince straightens his regal, majestic flight suit with the flag waving behind him. His tiny flag pin is getting more and more visible.
>"clay clay clayclayclay clay clayclayclay..." the chanting continues
>The Prince starts screaming for war angrily. Some Oseans look shocked and get up and try to leave, but the doors are locked.
>As the chanting grows louder and louder, the Prince starts speaking more aggressively, his eyes roll back in his head as he calls for war with Osea.
>Finally, just as he signs the declaration of war, he is handed a flight helmet emblazoned with a BBC(Big Belkan Crest). He puts it on his head and...
>"CLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY"
>At the Prince's signal, Gelb Squadron emerges from the horizon, slaughtering every Osean with UGBs and XAGMs. All the captured planes are dragged toward the stage where Belkan pilots await with proud, glowing patriotism.
>At this point the Prince is being slandered on the Osean news networks. He picks up the map, scribbling.

Well, already said what I had to previousl, so I can only comment on today's result. And despite feeling really crushed - and missing the roster spot, which is the actual aim for this whole mess - at least we won't be last place, so could be worse. Sorry folks. See you in the skies.

I'm really sorry for all that. Between PES literally being a RNG and your actual, sane tactics, this balance between your level-headed suggestions and what I tried to make made us far previously. --June 20th, 1995
Lumen, Belka

A treaty declaring the cessation of hostilities was signed in Lumen, a city on the border of South Belka and Osea.
It was a one-sided treaty that heavily favored Osea.
The borders of the affected countries that fluxed greatly over the past years finally settled down at the cost of many human lives.

The battlefield shifted to the tables, and the politicians from all other countries squabbled with each other over the rights to the underground resources-- the initial cause of this war.

Six months passed without any developments.

Six months of void.

I focused on this time period for the hidden truth there.
And I learned that my pursuit of him was not a mistake.

Then do it for me wise guy. The topic is how to bait for (you)s.
>>
>thereal9

https://i.4cdn.org/wsg/1481219597548.webm
>>
>>162469791
On 4chan, the (you) is the currency of dialogue, the way to know that a particular post is either incredibly stupid or incredibly important. However, not all stupid posts are worthy of responses, and crafting a post that is just dumb enough to goad people into responding, but not so dumb as to be obviously bait is an artform itself. Baiting for (you)s is both a difficult and ultimately pointless endeavor, but one that hundreds of people partake in every day anyway. Today we will be considering 3 common methods, politics, video games, and anime.

Politics are a sore subject on much of 4chan. Despite /pol/ being both an extremely popular and well known board, large swaths of 4chan utterly despise /pol/posting, and will respond to it without questioning. On the flip side, if the board or thread one happens to be baiting in is of a more conservative slant - namely, if you see /pol/ buzzwords like 'cuck' or 'degeneracy' thrown around - it may be of more use to invert your assumed political position and pretend to be a liberal.

Video games are a large common interest for most of 4chan, but that isn't to say that there is much agreement on what is considered good. There are a few games that nearly all of 4chan likes, such as the Metal Gear Solid series, but the most effective way to generate responses is to imply you like some 'tumblr' game like Undertale or Gone Home. Saying you like these games is sure to generate angry responses calling you an 'SJW' or telling you to go back to tumblr, or complaining about Undertale's fanbase.
>>
>>162469791
>>162472220
Despite anime being the initial interest for the creation of 4chan, it has somehow managed to become a relatively controversial topic of late. Posting anime reaction images elicits angry responses complaining about 'dumb anime posters,' which in turn are responded to by angry weeaboos that remind everyone repeatedly that 4chan was created for anime by weeaboos. Anime is therefore a topic ripe for baiting. Simply post with an anime reaction image and respond to yourself calling yourself a dumb weeb and watch the fireworks.

As previously stated and explained, such baiting is a fruitless and futile endeavor. However, if it's something that (you) gain joy or amusement from, perhaps it's not so pointless after all?

Like 450 words so maybe not exactly what you need but fuck you just bullshit another 50 it's not that hard

anon, map design is what made Doom and Quake so good. Carmack's programming wizardry was important, sure, but at the end of the day you can't just make an engine and call it a game. Levels and aesthetic and weapons and sound are important too.

I disagree, I found Quake 1's level design pretty good considering the technical constraints. I do think that Doom was a better game and more fun overall, but I've heard from people that enjoyed Quake's fewer, more dangerous enemies to Doom's numerous but easy enemies. Claiming the game was never good is just /v/-tier circlejerking and belongs on reddit.

I don't think it'll be a very interesting game, Dallas has beat a lot of teams this year. NY has been having a lot of defensive issues, whereas Dallas has been doing virtually everything well. They've won 11 straight.
On the other hand, Eli has a spectacular talent for tapping into the supernatural powers of autism magic at the worst possible time for the other team, and on top of that the only team to beat Dallas this year was NY.
Knowing Eli's strange penchant for hilariously unlikely upsets, the game could frankly go either way.

It's actual one of the greatest modern luxuries. Beats riding a fucking boat from one continent to the next.
>>
>>162504235
Sure, but that doesn't mean it doesn't fucking suck. My dad and little brother just got redirected to another airport because of a snowstorm and got the flight that was scheduled later cancelled, and then the airway booked them on separate flights.

Oh, and they've been waiting for 3 hours for a hotel room.

The actual flying itself is a fucking modern marvel. Everything else around it needs to be reset.

Oh, and the new separate flights are 4 hours apart and to top it all off the only flight that's available that keeps the two of them together is at 7 PM, stops once in Atlanta, the complete opposite direction that they were originally supposed to go, and then finally gets here at 11 fucking PM. Plus every time we want to get something about the flight changed or get more information about anything, we get to stay on hold for half a fucking hour before someone with a questionable command of the english language reads off a script at us until we finally get SOMETHING done, maybe.

I just don't understand, why the fuck can't things just *work*? Why does some retard always have to cock everything up?
>>
>>162504662
Who knows, maybe because a service that turns out thousands and thousands of people while also trying to keep up high security isn't able to wholly efficient.
>>
>>162505353
You know when I bitch about things I don't actually want you being a smug, condescending, patronizing cunt to me. I just want to complain about a system not working. I'm sure you've had the same problem.
>>
>>162504662
Well, unless you believe that some guy in Mongolia has a machine which controls the weather, it's not so much retards cocking things up as it is nature deciding to shitfuck mankind's creations through the power of winter fuck-yous
The rest of it, on the other hand, is mostly airline regulations, FAA shenanigans with travel routes, and terrible, terrible corporate customer service policies
>>
>>162504617
That's much better box art.
>>
>>162505497
Yeah, I imagine that FAA travel regulations can't help. Customer service is such a huge problem for every industry, it's weird that companies keep outsourcing it to places that very clearly can't do it. Do they just figure that people will roll over and let themselves be fucked?

Incidentally, that isn't what I meant by people cocking it up. Weather is one thing, that shit just happens. My complaint is with the airline's handling of everything - which has been incredibly bad. They had to have known that there would be a snowstorm today in advance, and yet they clearly didn't plan things in advance. That isn't even considering that they booked my little brother alone on a flight and then just threw their hands up at us and were like 'xd we dont know what the other airlines unattended minor policy is, fuck you!'
>>
>It's another Val is on the deathbed episode.
>>
>>162505876
The thing is, Airlines operate on a certain level of inertia, no small part of which stems from the fact that all flights, no matter how long or short, must be registered with the FAA and be along FAA-approved flight routes.
Actually, I have a better way to explain this. I used to live not too far from Houston's main intercontinental airport, which was and is a United Airlines hub. If I drove south on the freeway, I could see departures and arrivals thunder by, and every day about 1:15PM, I'd see a long-haul jetliner push into the skies bound for Tokyo. This was just one of many flights that a seasoned traveler could predict, that left the gate and kicked off airport tarmac in a predictable way at a predictable time.
The point of that is to say that airlines have certain patterns of operation that are part regulatory, party institutional inertia, and mostly economically viable and generally favorable to the passenger. When weather or other factors play merry hell with these patterns, they do their best to work around it and maintain the pattern, because the moment it falls apart it could take a few days to reestablish it, days during which passengers aren't flying but sitting in hotels on the company's dime, doubly bleeding the company of its already thin profit margin.
That's probably why they shitfucked your family on the booking-they want to get people moving as fast as they can, so they can clear the backlog from this storm, reestablish the profitable patterns of operations, and start making up the losses this storm cost them in cancellations, delay, jets that got fueled up and then sat there, and all the rest
>>
>>162506527
So if I'm getting what you're saying, the reason they couldn't just fly them here in the plane they came across the pond in is because it needs to be back where it came from for the same route the next day. That makes sense to me, but that shit still sucks.

Incidentally it still doesn't make sense to me why they couldn't try and work something out with domestic airlines for today just in case - obviously that would depend heavily on the actual likelihood of this situation happening, because you don't want to overbook - but it still seems like a much less shitty way of doing things.

And honestly, all this could be forgiven if their customer service wasn't total fucking ass. In a situation like this you should have some way of allowing people to get fast answers that isn't just wait on the phone for half an hour and have someone read from a script. Have dedicated email lines for people that get fucked by weather conditions and shit. I'm really just most mad about how bad airline customer support is, it's worse than Steam.
>>
>>162409827
I'm trying to run AC4 with these settings, but I still get the black plane texture glitch in hardware mode
>>
>>162506928
Yeah, that's a known bug. You'll also notice that on missions like Imminent Threat, the sun will bug out. You just have to deal with it for right now, or play in software mode.
>>
>>162506986
Which games run with as little problems as possible?
I wanted to give them a shot on the emulator since I heard they added mimmap support in the dev builds
>>
>>162506859
I agree on the customer support, that shit's just unacceptable.
As for the booking, it's partially the result of airlines operating so independently for so long-their booking systems are difficult to make compatible. It's also due to the threat of competition, which is much more notable if it's domestic airline vs domestic airline versus your international vs domestic case. Working out deals with other airlines for overflow capacity is essentially handing them paying customers on a platter, which again, cuts into profit margins and can cost both parties heavily. The one that books overflow capacity has to buy seats for passengers, essentially throwing the money the passenger paid into a roaring fire. The one that takes overflow, meanwhile, loses seats that could have been filled with actual passengers that might have bought food or drinks from the snack cart, thus denying it potential extra revenue.

They do. That's why we have security circus.

I'm 99% convinced it's a power thing, a way of asserting dominance over the passenger without any other real relevance. Economically and politically I know it's insane, but it's the only way I can rationalize it into human nature: Take off your belt. Take off your shoes. Dance. Dance or we're not letting you on the plane. Promise to take lessons so your dancing sucks less. Pick up that can.

>>
>>162545002
At best it's to give people a false sense of security. The fact that someone can take off with a small plane on whatever little airfield and just land airside at a big airport you might have to go through security to get in but if you just want to blow up a plane that doesn't matter without any issues beyond having to file a flight plan and get a slot should tell you enough about how little some of these checks are worth.

That said, all I know about the US domestic market is that it has a relatively bad reputation for safety, security and service. Albeit they improved.

It helps to consider that this stuff runs on a basis where airlines may bankrupt within a few days of not flying. Which helps explain the shit/cheap service and all. But I'd still get just as angry.

Before 1978 routes used to be regulated so airlines couldn't compete freely and had to get permission to open routes if they flew interstate (Southwest exploited this by only flying within certain states or something, I forget the detail but it let them offer much lower fares and other simplified structures.)

So if for example the price of oil went up, you'd just go over to the CAB and say "Hey, can I stick the ticket price up" and they'd say "Yeah sure" and you'd pass the cost onto the customer, who in turn would usually pass it on to his employer. It's not like other airlines can compete significantly on price. (The CAB will say no)
Also you'd all put in bids for operating a route, and the quality of your bid wasn't the only thing factored - TWA is having a run of bad luck? They get this nice route to help keep them in the black.

For every aspect of aviation except "actually getting from A-B at reasonable cost" (which is important, so I was mostly joking.), it was quite nice. It enforces most of the romantic parts of aviation until 1978 (good service, comfortable planes, cabin configurations not based around cramming as many people into economy as safety regulations will allow.) and I like to extrapolate that forward in my imagination. (i.e. Pan-Am, TWA alive. 727s and DC-9s in regular service.)

ETOPS and such is probably also worth noting - since that's how you wound up with the DC-10 and L1011 even though the technology allowed for twinjets.

The domestic market safety thing was part of their odd period of de-regulation where they had to commit to promoting the aviation industry for investment as well as regulating safety, which made it a hilarious nightmare when you had all the most profitable carriers skirting the rules. Do you come down hard and promote safety, or keep holding them up as a sign that people should pour more cash into the money-pit of aviation?

Eventually this came to a head and they were told to focus on safety.

Nope. F-35 is way too big to kill at this point. Still, DoD got overconfident after the reception of the F-22 and assumed Lockheed knew what they were doing with the F-35. Lack of competition fucked over the F-35's development.
>>
>>162554409
But the F-35 design was the result of a competition.
>>
>>162554663
Ah, so it was. Lack of significant competition, then. I forgot the X-32 even attempted to exist
>>
Honestly, the F-35 would have been a better program if they'd just told the marines to go fuck themselves and never included the VTOL requirment.

That would have really opened up the field and we could have seen some different stuff.

And it would have probably been cheaper to just announce a different contract for the marine VTOL, give the loser of the JSF a chance to come away with something and wouldn't compromise the variant every other branch is using.
>>
>>162555749
Without the VTOL stipulation there would be no F-35.
Its half the reason it, and the JSF program exists.
Also how has the B variant compromised the A and C variant?

The F-35 has limited kinematic performance and increased RCS as necessitated by the fuselage shaping due to the lift fan.

The necessity of the VTOL requirement made the contract more difficult to technically accomplish than a traditional multirole fighterbomber would be to design and build. Simplified requirements would have allowed more Aerospace companies to submit designs that would make it to prototype and flyoff stages.
>>
>>162556250
Comparing the 3 variants, in all metrics except VTOL ability, the B variant is the worst.

>Comparing the 3 variants, in all metrics except VTOL ability, the B variant is the worst.
Isn't it offset by the advantages VSTOL gives to force projection?
The Harrier wasn't exactly a super high speed ultra manueverable aircraft either.
>>162556928
>The F-35 has limited kinematic performance and increased RCS as necessitated by the fuselage shaping due to the lift fan.
Yes, but compared to what?
>>
>>162557797
The harrier never fought anything more advanced than 2nd and 3rd gen aircraft loaded with bombs, rockets, and short range heaters.

A proper aircraft of the same era, like an F-4 or MiG-23 would eat it alive.

The Harrier didn't have the sensors and missiles that the F-35 can equip though.
>>
>>162558974
Yes because it's two generations more advanced.

The F-35 won't be fighting MiG-23s and F-4s. In the highly unlikely event it does see conflict it will be fighting Su-35s, MiG-35s, PAK-FAs, or J-whatevers.

Right now, all current threats are either in limited numbers or not at the same level technologically.

The F-35 is slated to serve until 2050ish. While it may be incrementally upgraded with sensors and coatings, its stealth advantage will only be diminished as technology marches on.
>>
>>162559887
Sorry, that should be 2070, not 2050.
>>
>>162559887
Right, but the stealth advantage is only a small part of the F-35's benefits.
Its data linkage with all other allied forces, and its ability to be upgraded with new software more easily than the other 5th gen fighter, the F-22, is the biggest selling point, is it not?
The stealth is like the RAM icing on the LO cake.

A nation is comprised of the individuals who live in its borders.
It can only become a nation when it is supported by those individuals.
But mercenaries who cross lines and allegiance for money have no country to protect.
They only fight for their own power and fame.
But if that was the case, why did I lose to him?
Maybe not having the burden of a nation allows you to fly faster.

It also might not just be a larger fan base but specifically a larger fan base outside Japan. The Xbox is a lot more popular in clapistan proportionally than in Japan so if the US is a major market it makes no sense to not release on the Xbox.

No edge about it, the games are about fighter jets, fighting in wars, whats wrong about wanting some contextual and serious writing? AC 6 hit the sweet spot for soft characters but a harsh reality, AC 0 was the pinnacle in war telling stories for the series and 5 is an absolute low quality shitshow with little to NOTHING redeemable about it

4 and 0 really are the highlights of the series, aren't they?

>>
>>162648913
AC 6's story is very good too, the shift between the former Strigon squadron lead and the Mother traveling across her war torn country to find her daughter is fantastic, as great 4's was there was room for the person telling the story to be a little more involved in the world and the happenings and thats what 6 nailed right on the head
>>
>>162649039
Are you saying Ace Combat 6 had a better story than ace combat 4?
>>
>>162649039
I did enjoy 6, but Melissa's constant moping got a little old, and I get she's in a tough situation, but still. I wanted to see more of Voychek, that was a character I really liked.
>>
>>162649094
It was a direct improvement upon what AC4's story was, a more active narrator in the context of the game with a more understandable and clear cast of people that through their tidbits, felt more like people. You had the Strigon Vet reminiscing about the skies while firsthand seeing what his nation had reduced the capital and people of their neighbours too, but with complete conviction and no regret to his part in it, then you had a mother whos immediate loss of her spouse is laid out and its made VERY clear the last thing she has hope for, is her daughters life and we see her go to great lengths on her journey, all for it to reach the zenith that is the last 2 or 3 cutscenes.

It is, in every way, an improvement upon 4's style of narrative, and indirectly a perfect contemporary to the harsh and grating tone of 0's

>>
>>162649039
>>162649432
This guy knows what's up. I've always thought that 6 was highly underrated by the fanbase, especially in comparison to games like AC5.
>>
>>162649432
I'm going to have to disagree. In my opinion 6's story suffered from the same thing that its gameplay did. Scale.

Yeah, looking at maps with 300 enemies and 100 allies was cool as fuck, but it also makes each individual unit less important. Even the superweapon and pasternak fights suffered from this. There were no epic duels between aces as in 4 and 0, merely spamming SPW and Allied attack orders to cut down as much of the chaff as you could.

The story was similarly clustered. In the game itself you had the main story as told through briefings and gameplay, but then you had Shamrock's sob story which was pretty much a mirror image of Melinda's, and on top of that 20+ allied units who were barely even touched upon. Some of them didn't even get assault Records! And honestly, the in mission banter was probably the best part.

Now outside the gameplay you have the Estovakian's story, Melinda and Ludmila's roadtrip, and McKnight's heist movie. Towards the end we even get Pasternak's cutscenes as well.

Quite honestly, it felt like they wrote the ending first, and then had to somehow contrive a way for all three of the POV characters to get together simply so you could get that briefing update during the final mission.

>>162651398
>underrated

Exactly, people get started thinking 'DUDE CHEESY LMAO' and then write off the game completely.

Not only is 5's story bad, a lot of the missions are too. Like a bad anime, there's too many missions that feel like filler. And the pacing, fucking my god, the pacing. Every mission is paced by long, annoying, tedious dialogue or a long timer rather than the player completing objectives. The desert, snow, and arkbird missions are the worst offenders of this. Any mission that is designed so you run out of ammo because there is literally not enough to take on everything to force you to rely on braindead teammates that love to take their sweet ass time is the fucking worst. Even in the worst, most tedious groundpounding missions in AC04:
A) give you a return line to restock on ammo, and
2) don't force you to rely on a teammate.
>>
>>162651552
War is messy, everything gets thrown up and blasted all over the place, this is why context is so important when youre telling a story in regards to the game thats being played, and why it blended alot of AC 6's bits together. Its unstructured format, although initially off putting and maybe seemed rush, all works within the context of the story the game follows. Its a mess, from beggining to end, with glimpses of hope and pillars of strength peppered along to stop it from being complete hippy shitfest.

Now, as for ingame dialogue, ill touch on Shamrock first. Hes just a father who wants to wrap the war up, save his country and go back to his wife and kid. His story works absolutely wonderfully to parallel Melinda's, because its supposed to. Another parent, whos only hope that their spouse and children will be waiting for them at the end of it all, going through hell and back, but his involvement in the whole ordeal is far more direct and hands on compared to Melinda's, hence his almost manic switch when he, in the end, finds out that everything he went through was for nothing.

The ingame dialogue on all the assorted units ang batallions were honestly wasted potential, especially in how well they were presented in the game itself, but that again doesnt do much to sully what is a very well put together main story, and where the focus is, its great.

I've managed to somehow keep myself blind to almost the entirety of 6's story (by that I mean cutscenes and briefings all but 2 or 3 missions, not the general plot). I can't wait until I find a way to play the game. Hopefully, I'll be able to stream it too.

There are different types of Hard. There's the fun challenge like fighting the bosses in MGR on Revengeance difficulty, and there's the tediousness of slogs where you make little bits of progress and there are tiny details annoying you throughout and it's long and slow and if you make one mistake, all your progress goes down the drain and you have to go through the slog AGAIN. I don't care about difficulty, that shit is unfun to playthrough.

War is something fought on the desks of politicians.
As long as they win in the end, that’s all that matters.
But for us, it’s a matter of survival.
In order to survive, you need to analyze the situation in an instant.
It’s the same as living in a city.
The rules of this little city apply just as well to that wide-open sky.
That guy had the same feel about him as this city.

>Every mission is paced by long, annoying, tedious dialogue or a long timer rather than the player completing objectives.

This is a big problem in 5.

Compare the first missions of 04, 5, and Zero. All three games use the first 30 seconds of the mission to introduce the main characters. However...
04 has Skyeye talk while you fly towards your targets. The bombers are far away enough that, even if you go full AB, the dialogue will finish before you're close enough to engage them.
Zero does the same thing, except there's a (skippable) cutscene beforehand.
5 makes you sit through a good minute or two or dialogue before the 'enemy' plane even spawns, and this is AFTER a cutscene as well. PA could've spawned the plane at the start of the mission, then placed it far away from your starting position, so you could listen to the dialogue while flying towards it, but nope. Just play with the controls until the game decides to let you do something.

5 has some great missions, but it likes to make you sit through many of those 'flying around waiting for dialogue to finish' scenes before you can play them. Joint Assault had a similar problem with the Sulejmani fight, but no-one noticed because they were too distracted by Sulejmani fucking the physics engine up the ass with his dick plane.

Seems like a big complaint about pacing and dialogue. I can understand that but I very strongly disagree that the missions are bad.

They are a miles times more better than AC04 (which gets a lot of praise) simply because they are more varied and you do more unique things. You have a mission in which you have to use a training aircraft to escape through islands, a fight with a super-submarine at the arctic, unarmed reconnaissance mission, air escort mission in which you literally have to guide a plane, dealing with a terrorist gas attack, etc. Compare that to AC04 in which iirc at least half the missions are score missions and some without even any interesting set pieces at the end.

Don't get me wrong, I love AC04 and those missions as well, but I consider AC05's approach much better and deserving of praise.

Are you getting Mission Over or Mission Accomplished?
If it's Mission Over you probably need to shoot stuff faster so the mission update happens.
>>
Why are there so many attention whores in this general?
>>
>>162724886
During each briefing, at the part where you're allowed to review all the enemy units, it shows you a number, usually something like '2:59' or '3:29'. This is the time limit you have to complete the primary objective of the mission (in most cases). In some missions, completing it in time simply finishes the mission, or gets you an 'update target'. You just need to keep a good eye on your clock, and a few retries may be necessary.

I can see where it'd look like that, but I disagree.

If the F-15 is a very regal, high-flying and kingly, well, eagle, then to me the Flanker is more akin to a quick diving falcon, swooping out of the sky and killing you before you even know what happened.
I've always thought the Flanker just looks incredibly fast, even sitting still.

Variety means nothing if that extra variety in missions results in boring gameplay. The escort mission was boring and tedious after the first time, you don't do anything in Reprisal except drop a few anti-gas and shoot a few helis except wait around for PLOT, the rescue Nagase mission is obnoxious, and DONT GET ME STARTED ON FOUR HORSEMEN. There's a reason those kinds of variety missions don't appear again in the series. That being said, I enjoyed the escape and recon missions and wouldn't mind seeing them again in the series. The submarine is just another superweapon, which as a mission type appears constantly throughout the series. Anyway, I much prefer the score missions than the variety ones because that's what the gameplay excels at and is the least limited by. On a final note, the variety missions in 5 are very much made worse by the "wait for the dialogue to finish" pacing the game has.

Xinput configuration for ePSXe and PCSX2

http://pastebin.com/WqxuFxSB

This works for DS3 controllers. I can't confirm if it works for DS4 controllers as I do not own one, but it SHOULD work for those as well.

If it doesn't, I found this: http://ngemu.com/threads/tutorial-fully-functional-ds4-on-epsxe-using-ds4tool-1-2-2.172601/

If a buddy who owns a DS4 would test this driver and confirm its functionality, I'll add it to the guide.

Welp, just sat back down to try and figure out how the hell to computer. Basically that downloads a Terminal prompt, like, a command line thingy opens. IDK how to use it an the directions on the ECM And APE Guide page make zero sense to me.

What exactly does

"All you have to do is unzip the archive and then in the terminal, go to the directory with your .bin.ecm file and you can:
~/Desktop/ECM/unecm /Path/to/MyPSXISO.bin.ecm /Path/to/MyPSXISO.bin

Of course, replace ~/Desktop/ECM/ and /Path/to/ with the right directory names for your situation."

mean? I'm editing the pastebin for mac users just in case when 7 drops we get another influx of /v/ and I'd love to have a simple easy explanation.
>>
>>162732328
Last final is tomorrow, this is sweet, thanks man
>>
>>162737841
I don't know how to wrangle about with OSX, but from what I'm seeing, you have to

>Open Navigate to /Applications/Utilities and doible-click on Terminal
>Assuming your ECM folder containing the "ecm" and "unecem" files is in your desktop, in the terminal, type in "cd /Desktop/ECM/" without quotes, so it knows where to go
>Assuming your Ace Combat 3 folder containing the unpatched AC3 .BIN files are also in the desktop, type in or copy + paste "~/Desktop/ECM/unecm /Desktop/Ace Combat 3/Ace Combat 3 - Electrosphere (J) (v1.1) (Disc 1) [SLPS-02020].bin.ecm /Desktop/Ace Combat 3/Ace Combat 3 - Electrosphere (J) (v1.1) (Disc 1) [SLPS-02020].bin" without quotes

The "~/Desktop/ECM/unecm" part tells the terminal what program to run, in this case, the unecm file.

The "/Desktop/Ace Combat 3/Ace Combat 3 - Electrosphere (J) (v1.1) (Disc 1) [SLPS-02020].bin.ecm" part tells the terminal which file the program it's running should use to transform into .BIN, in this case, the .BIN.ECM file.

And the "/Desktop/Ace Combat 3/Ace Combat 3 - Electrosphere (J) (v1.1) (Disc 1) [SLPS-02020].bin" part tells the terminal where the program should save the .BIN file it extracted.

Try that out, see if works.

Recently finished 5 and 0 for the first time, played 4 a while back

I think i prefer 5 for a few reasons but 0 has some major aspects that it think are far better

5's characters for me personally are more fun and interesting than 0, i think the length of the game helps, if you were given more cutscenes and interaction with pixy before his betrayal, would make the final scene even better.

only having pixy means he has to be perfect character wise and AI wise and personally, a lot of the time it felt like i was flying on my own, with 5 it felt like i was playing with a squad this time.

I personally preferred 5's story, probably because of its length, more happened, more twists, more interesting variety of missions. Felt the progression from sand island nuggets, to razgriz to ghosts was great and took place over a decent length, meanwhile a bunch of war stuff happened, belka drops the bomb and pixy fucks off.

0 though does have some great moments, the fire bombed city has some good character discussion about how this isnt right. the AI in 0 seems improved and more deadly, the UI has nice tweaks that seem logical. Less plane management pleased me with weapon management instead being a better choice. I missed the YES/NO stuff but i can live without it.

By far 0's strongest quality IS its ace battles, they serve as logical, extremely fun boss battles that test the players skills that they learn through the game, which is why i hated the final boss, pixy's boss fight seems so cheap when its about gaming the system and learning his patterns, not a real dog-fight.

0 seemed to have a more serious tone to it with some actual questions about war and muh borders that are more relevant to real world than 5 but 5 was more entertaining and crazy.Main gripe is how short 0 is. At least 0 lets you pick what types of missions you want, i almost exclusively chose air to air when i could.

the soundtrack to 0 is far better than 5 but 5 has some really memorable uses of music than 0.

But they didn't go to war with belka under the suspicion that they had WMDs, they went to war with Belka because they got invaded out the ass

>>
>>162765879
It always bothers me when people say they hate how short ACZ when it has more missions than 04, not counting Ace style variations. You've got 18 base missions (same amount so far as 04), 2 extra mission for each choose-your-team missions (this adds 6 more), 2 extra different bosses for each round table mission (another 6 added), and finally the gauntlet. Not counting the missions with barely any variations, that's a total of 31 missions. The reason Zero seems so short at first is because the pace is almost completely up to the player except for two and half missions (first half of Mayhem, Glatisant, and Lying in Deceit). Every other mission has small set of TGTs that ends the mission once eliminated. Otherwise, the bulk of the gameplay is basically everything involved with completing the Assault Records and optionally buying everything.

The war started with Belka's invasion, when they found out the neighor territories they were forced to give away had natural resources out the ass
