Okay listen up since you just hit floor 1 you might not understand, when you enter a secret shop, its a tiny room with only a person-wide hallways between you and the exit. And the warning happens when a jackal spawns, not before they spawn, so if you're in a shop at that time, you're fucked, it is instant death without any warning or chance to escape, which a lot of people have been going through because they can literally have a spawn timer as short as 12 seconds in those rooms.
