I think people are overlooking an important part of V3's lore. The government wants SHSL to be leaders and Monokuma gave all inmates their own rooms to hone their talents. Why? The game is a test to see if the students are worthy of being leaders of society. If they become corrupt in the game then they fail.

I'm pretty sure what it comes down to is the beginning of the game, because I know that at the very least the ESRB doesn't play through entire games before deciding the rating. I think that's why DR1 got a higher rating, because its most violent scene was within the first few hours, while DR2's most violent scene (Komaeda's death) is very late in the game, while the sexual themes and foul language are rampant from the beginning. V3 probably just has a relatively tame beginning. The first victim is probably drowning or something along those lines.

Actually, DR1 got a higher rating because muders are occuring "in reality", while DR2 is a simulation, therefore "not real". It's weird like that.

People who think Kaede dies at this point need to realize there are alot of holes in this theory. For starters: Free Time Events, Famitsu recently confirmed their reappearance in V3 along with the possibility to spend time with Toujo seen in the scans. If Kaede dies, how would they handle the FTEs you've already completed? You can't just waste an entire chapters worth of FTEs and reset it for the other MC, and if they do carry it over to the second MC, how would they know info gathered from Kaede's time with them? It's also worth noting that none of the other characters can fit the bill for a new MC, for starters, Kiibo has been shown to be an idiot in almost a Hiro way due to him being a robot, and Tenko hates boys, It would literally be impossible to FTE her if the MC was male. The girls however, Tenko is out of the question (because no boys), Angie seems to be an airhead, Maki is anti-social (doubt she would do FTEs), and the rest of the girls just dn't fit righ in the MC spot given their desig, personality etc. Kaede however, is definetly the MC, on top of her to be revealed as one, the "Multiple Argument" mini-game is explained by Saihara to only be understandable by Kaede due to her musical talent, and the Barbie Girl mini-game the internet loves so much already has a kaede model and given everything on screen a pink color, which just so happens to be Kaede's main color. Give up, Kaede is the MC, get over it.

I have love-hate relationship with dr, i really liked the first one, but in the second... i hate most of the characters, they're boring, written badly and some of them I can stand only if I like the cliches they're based on (like Mikan or Akane). And ending is just fucking stupid. I felt like Kodaka was like Junko and really didn't give a fuck about characters in sdr2.
Komaeda basically made me play this game. He was such rare, unpredictable and chaotic force. I love this take on "luckster" talent and the fact that they included bad luck as well. It was very fresh and I wish that more characters were like him (as in interesting take on a theme) and not just "I'm cheerful, but with sad backstory". Also he looks very pleasing to me, I love Komaeda.

Okay so I just finished the fourth trial in Dr2, and the way Gundam justified the murder was odd. It's an asspull but still worth a shot. Look at the characters diagonal to each other in the same spaces. E.G. Maki and Kaede. We have a theory about Kaede not being protag and Maki is due to the colour scheme. I'm not a colourfag but it's an interesting theory. I also feel like Ki-bo will be important but I don't know how so unless we use my Dr. Iidabashi theory but we don't know much otherwise and he's diagonal to Rantaro and he's a huge mystery already. Unless we want to say Rantaro is the SHSL Time Traveler and Ki-Bo was made by Dr. Iidabashi who traveled with Rantaro (Miu from another killing game). But other than that I don't have much.Next are eh desu. Saiahra and Himiko, detective and magician. The detective finds things while magicians make them disappear. Kaito and Gonta. We don't know much about Kaito. I'd say Astronaut and Bug Expert. One deals with the earth while the other deals with space. This'll probably be a conflicting thing with their personalities. Kaito may be an idealist while Gonta maybe be grounded in reality. Tenko and Korekiyo. This one seems pretty self-explanitory. Tenko hates men and Shinguji loves humans. That'll probably be a conflicting thing. Miu and Toujo. Miu is very erratic and energetic and has a foul mouth while Toujo is generally calm. I can't say ch about the last two. Angie's and Ryoma's have yet to come out and maybe Kokichi and Tsumugi may both be liars. Ouma is lying about his society and Tsumugi about her personality?
I know TL;DR but I'm actually curious. Is Kodaka trying to tell us something by this?

Now fair warning I smoked a lot of weed for this but what if Shuuichi and Rantarou are members of the shady organization Kokichi keeps yammering on about? The true leader will be revealed in V4 but Shuuichi and Rantarou are both members of said group that uses people of extraordinary skill to combat the government. However Rantarou defected and Shuuichi is tasked to either stop him and bring him back or eliminate him. Idabashi is also part of this organization too unbeknownst to Kiibo. The fate of the killing game rests upon Kaede who is secretly SHSL Harmony that must face off against the true SHSL Discord which would be Yumeno who used her magical spells to trap them within the school. Her mother was gangbanged by the government and she is the result of said gangbang. Hearing the truth drove Yumeno insane so she decided she'd crush the government using SHSL talents. Rantarou used his SHSL Time Travel talent to try and find out the truth while Shuuichi used his secret talent as well. Kokichi reveals he's SHSL Luck and has severe brain damage but wants to do his best for everyone so he fights Yumeko and dies. Shinguji is broken by this loss and pulls a Ishimondo/Hajizuru card and becomes a SSJ. The mastermind behind this killing game I'd Yumeno but the ones in control of the situation are Shuuichi and Rantarou. Kaede now has to decide who she loves more. Maki's role will be the one who finishes off the survivors.
