The problem is, keeping up a stream of consistently good content for more than a year or two after a game is released is very difficult.

People on the team eventually want to leave and try new things, and you get a different dev team that might not understand the game completely, and definitely won't have the same set of skills and designs the original team had.

Honestly I think it's better to make a great game, maybe give it an xpac and then leave it to be remembered as a great thing forever.

Diablo 2 needs buffs to shit and/or ridiculously gear dependant builds (99.9% of anything you can build) that anyone who has played the game for a long time could easily point out and some intern fucking codemonkey could edit in within a day, tweaking attack rating and defense mechanics, bugfixes like making mana burn not do 255x the damage it's supposed to, and increasing drop rates of top level stuff by a considerable amount so playing solo selffound without literally cheating is possible with more than 0.01% possible builds.

That would give the game like a decade of two of more lifetime because everyone wouldn't be forced into running the same five cookie cutter objectively best builds all the time. I'm one of those guys who plays the mage in every game and I can't even look at the D2 sorc anymore because she's so boring and pidgeonholed.

Why do all diablo 2 guides only list a single weapon? This includes guides with enigma so it's not because of a teleport staff on the switch. Wouldn't it make sense to have, for example, claws for traps and a weapon for kicking on the switch? Or a throwing javelin for lightning fury + a stronger spear for melee damage? Or a wand for summoning and a wand for poison/bone or simply switching to beast after summoning?

Revive is worth only a couple of points at most. Every point gives you one more revive, but they have a shitty time limit and keep wandering off and poofing instead of leashing if you don't have enigma, so even with one hard point a bunch of +skills with bring it to high enough level.

The Lightning Coil incident.

I'll try to summarize the events. Lightning Coil (LC) is a very powerful, very meta, very popular, very rare high end unique item in PoE. At the starting stages of a new ladder, the market was all of the sudden flooded with LCs. People thought somebody had found a duping glitch at first, but the LCs were unid and turned out to have different stats so they had to have been not duped. That early on there was basically no way that many of those items had been found, and especially not possible so many were out for sale.

It turned out that an RMT site had made a typo pricing their LCs, some guy had noticed the price was low and bought a shitload of them and sold them forward for his own profit, which is how all the LCs ended up on the relatively new ladder's market. Question is where the RMT site got the items on the new ladder.
People did some more digging and noticed stuff like the RMT sites having items like top level maps and items that only drop from uber bosses (WHEN NOBODY IN THE LADDER HAD REACHED THE UBERS YET) in stock.

There's no waterproof hard evidence or otherwise GGG would be in court for tax evasion or gray market business or whatever the fuck, but there's literally no other explanation for where the RMT sites are getting those extremely valuable items in mass amounts. It also fits perfectly to the picture of the game being heavily economy, trading and itemization focused, GGG offering a f2p game with absolutely minimal amounts of p2w, and previous cases of devs trying to get a slice of the RMT pie by questionable means like Blizz did with D3.

I had to trade a Drac's Grasp for a regular Titan's because you need to be able to repair it from time to time when the quantity gets low.
I get tired of hearing about eth Titans, as if Im ever going to sit there and take the time to kill something thats lightning immune that I don't absolutely need to, and when I do my merc is going to do it way faster and any damage that I could add even with an eth Titan's would be negligible.

You're crazy if you don't think thats obscene. Theres a legitimate argument for using a shield like Lidless Wall over Spirit just so you can have that extra 100 points in Vit. If you have Enigma and you have the free 70 str it gives you then yeah, ok, good on you but everyone else has to weigh the trade off.

Btw I was going to say I HAD an eth Titan's, I mean I still have it, but I don't use it anymore because after playing a few days with it I realized what a hamstring it was to try and keep your LF casts down just to avoid zeroing out your jav quantity and having to weight till they replenish when with a regular one you could just go to Larzuk and pay 1 gold to repair them anytime they get low.

yeah because LF is an aoe so it already scales with large packs so like any normal AoE would hit 5 things and do 5x the damage but with LF if you have pierce and it hits everyone single one it releases 5 LF's so it might do 5 x 5 the damage or something I don't really know the math but pierce adds huge scaling potential. You already will have a ton without Razortail, its just that it takes you from 75% pierce to 100% and removes the rng aspect.

I think the big plus to your main skill from belt slot and the lightning absorb is worth it, only a blizz sorc can wear a belt as crazy as that, and it'll also free up a ring slot for something else since you don't need wisp projector.

That actually perfectly illustrates why you would want to use Razortail because the first Javelin because of RNG did not pierce the first thing it hit so it wiped out the first wave but left Shenk relatively untouched. Now with Tgods thats going to happen to you about a third of the time, and your also going to get huge pierce chain reactions another third of the time.

But with razortail you're going to get those huge cascading LF chain reactions 100% of the time and Shenk is going to get 1 shot because your javelin pierced like 6 things and LF procced six times and did 160000 damage. I think its better. I think it will be better.

if you go for lvl 9 pierce without TG you'll have a 69% chance to pierce the first enemy, 47% for the second, 32% for the third, 22% for the fourth etc.
whereas you have a 100% chance to pierce every single enemy with razortail

what really gets me though is when I walk up to a group Vipermagi and try to bowl them over but the first snake absorbs the jav and the rest of them are untouched so now you have a pack of snakes on you at like half health and your getting locked up before you can fire off another jav. it doesn't happen when they all get pierced they just fall over

its easy to see this for yourself at any time just walk up to a tightly packed group and toss a jav at them most of the time they just get bowled over

now walk up to a single monster of the same type and throw a jav at it and see if it doesn't take 3, or 4, or 5 LFs just to kill it it usually does.

because sorceress can choose not to get hit by teleporting away so it just burst damage that scares it once she survives that she teleports away across the map and away from the damage. she doesnt have to take consecutive hits. she wants a huge hp pool to survive the hit, and move on

javazons have to sit on top of baal to kill him they cant take consecutive hits so they go max block which coupled with dodge passives mean baal basically does not hit you.

hdins can kill things at range but its 100x easier just to go stand on top of it where you know your hammer will hit it instantly. they don't have the dodge passives and freak occasions get hit two or three times in a row by baal but holy shield lets them have the bigger hp pool not to mention low str reqs on incredibly op pally shields so its survivable.
