The pet really isn't that great with how easy it is to cap Crit on some characters so its not the end of the world that you put it on the wrong character. The Olympus Pets are better in most cases and you can get those for pretty cheap.

This, and also you want to avoid any that relies heavily on holds, like grapplers as they do not proc overcounter. Except maybe for DT as she has plenty of low cd attacks that can deal many hits. You also want to avoid classes heavily reliant on cubes as you need to fill up the gauge in order to use them.
Monk is top tier not only because of his really fast basic attacks along with shadow clones but also because of his twisters are also capable of overcountering. If you prefer someone else you have on the top of my head:
>Skirmisher (tons of multihits, specially after 2nd awakening)
>Nen masters (nen guard and explosive doppelganger can proc OC, fast basic attacks)

I still remember shortly after the Reborn patch went live on DFOG that using the Petit Danjun active had a chance at spawning unbreakable barrels that couldn't be removed in anyway. You could easily get stuck in said barrels too.

What's up with the lack of avatars in DFOG? I know there's like 8 pages of avatars per piece, but most are just recolors. I just for some reason feel like Nexon had a ton of avatars and DFOG has a scarce amount.

A majority of DFOG's avatars have been Event Avatars that are only available for certain periods of time. It wouldn't be a problem if the Packages themselves didn't expire and weren't untradeable on top of that but since they are you are basically fucked unless the gooks decide to bring them back for a sale like Black Friday.

You have to also keep in mind that newer classes simply lack Cera Shop Avatars. Knight and Demonic Lancer have only had 2 Advanced Avatar sets (Both of which DFOG already has) and the rest of their avatars have been Event only.

so is this still so easy despite being a MMORPG everyone pretty much just solo's?

I'm like a level 70 avenger but haven't touched it since around when they raised cap to 80 (could be 60>70 but pretty sure it ain't) because even at that high level because I didn't download a MMORPG to solo and the only part of the game I couldn't just mindlessly repeat the same combo in was PvP, where my character is gimped.

That and my cool ult I picked my character to use did less damage than base form by a ridiculous amount

the extremely fluid controls and well animated moves felt wasted on walking around what's pretty much the same map with a different looking background (since you just move from largely empty square room to largely empty square room and stunlock everything until you win) felt like even if it was a solo game it'd all just be wasted because it being so easy

The Michelle Nightmare quests aren't as bad as they used to be. When Iced Wall first came out the Michelle Quests turned you into some shitty M. Slayer who had really crappy skills and the only way to heal himself was some high CD skill since it wouldn't let you use items when you playing as him. I don't think DFOG ever got these old quests though, I think the gooks started DFOG in a version after they reworked the questline and got rid of the transformation but I'm pretty sure anyone on here who played CDNF knows what I'm talking about.

I remember that. It was worse than what you describe cause the slayer had a terribly slow movement speed and you didn't get sped up when you killed the nightmare fragment. So all the gimmicks from the nightmare dungeons that still rape your hp if you're too slow had to be dealt with properly instead of just running past everything. His moveset was ass too. The one from Play DFO is the Free Set. It's "Free" in the sense that you don't have to pay actual money for it, but you still need to grind event medals for it.
