Just for the record - How hard classes are:
Lights: Hardest, relies on mobility and clever use of spotting mechanics.
TD: Advanced, you need map knowledge to expect enemys since most TD have great DPS but are bad brawlers.
Meds: Advanced, Mixed depending on tank, ranges from pretty much light tank to almost heavy tank.
Heavys: Easiest since you cant outrun your team. teaches you how to use your armor and when to use an idiot friendly as a meatshield or how to give extra cover to an good ally.
Artys: easy, learn spots to stand, shoot, move shoot, repeat

And as always in life: Learn from your mistakes instead of blaming your team.

This is pretty much what I did. Quit in 2014 after working my way up to 3k recent, came back about a month ago. I'm a complete shitter now owing to lack of map reworks and grinding up new lines, but the game is a lot more fun and tolerable without XVM. My only regret is that it seems like every mod is integrated into XVM now, so it's impossible to get the good mods without signing up on a one-way bus to sadness.

The lightweight also leads to the T-54, which leads to two of the best tanks in the game and is also extremely strong itself. Not to mention the lightweight is a staple in any tier 8 content.

The 76mm gun sucks half the time against tier 5 tanks so facing up to tier 8 could be a nightmare but the 105 cannon on the sherman sucks balls too since it never penetrates anything.

US Beta Sherman, almost nobody that has one still plays though.
M4 'Improved', shitty tier 5 US premium with more speed but an awful gun.
Sherman III, Brit tier 5 that's more or less a M4 with minor difference here and there.
Firefly, Brit tier 6 that's pretty much a TD with an amazing gun but shit mobility.
French tier 8 premium (actually the jew sherman) with a 390 damage railgun but has the speed and armour of a M4 Sherman at tier 8.
