That's possible. I use a DS4 with a 3rd party driver emulator for DaS3 since my 360 controller finally died, and I've noticed fucking atrocious input lag and deadzones with it. I'm sure most of it is the fault of the 3rd party software and not the controller, but it's still a piss off.

Replace steel protection with hornet and you should be good to go. I'd also suggest going to 29 VIT so you don't fat roll, which you can do by dropping down to 27 VIG and -1 point in END. Seems weird but the VIT should generally make up for less VIG with a higher flat defense, and you won't fat roll.

For PvE? Bleed build, but only because that's always the answer unless the question is "how do I make this challenging?"

For PvE, depends. If you just want to endure and keep up the approach, use a greatsword. If you actually need to chase people down who are running away, use a spear. Twin prince's greatsword and gargoyle flame spear are easy to switch between due to similar scaling and equal weight.

DS2 has some cool concepts,areas and mechanics and when you think about them you start to feel like playing the game before starting up the game and realizing how a large portion of the game consists of the shit areas that are either irredeemably terrible due to design flaws or just implemented kind of half-assedly because the atmosphere is shit due to mismanaged lighting,lackluster combat and ps2 tier graphics at some areas.

For example, I went through Huntsman's Copse and Brightstone Cove Tseldora today. Huntsman's Copse,despite it's linearity, had some interesting design like the skybox is really nice, the first building you enter is one of the few places in DS2 which is actually DARK and a torch is useful there. Overall despite the graphics being poor, the area is dark enough for it to not stand out as much.

Brightstone Cove on the other hand had very bland lighting, vistas to huge repeating textures and overall ps2-tier graphics coupled with really bland lighting and the Prowling Magus and Congregation boss was a joke.

So how long are the individual DLC's for Das2, I've just finished Crown of the Old Iron king and it had a fair few moments of pain but it was alright for the most part ( i was cooping it for the most part) and the Fume knight gave me trouble until fighting it solo made it easier somehow.

I did enjoy it overall and are the other dlcs as good as it ? I am sure as hell of getting tired of seeing the god damn smelter demons though.

Can somebody help me out? I'm trying to figure out which UGS and greatsword is best suited for this. I won't be having any dex, at most a few points (starting class is knight so I have 12 by default). I also will have points in faith (30) incase that opens up some options.

I've figured so far that the fume UGS would be best, but I honestly just don't like the way it looks, dumb a reason as that is.

Is the Halberd a str weapon? The RH requires 14/14 but the regular Halberd requires 16 str/12 dex, why?

It's not a matter of having access to weapons to play around with, this is my invasion character that I already have all the stuff for on a backup save, so I just respec whenever I want to try a different build. Also halberds are meant to be 1H'd, the moveset and tracking are way way better when 1H'd for some reason (with the poking ones I mean).

That said... 282 is pretty insane at 27/20 +4. May just have to do that despite any issues with it (it's worse than 1H but not significantly so), especially since I really want to make use of the charge WA. 60 AR at this level may be a bit too much to pass up. Planned on using an offhand knight's xbow anyways, I can just switch between 2H'ing and 1H'ing it whenever I want to fire off shots, no problem.

The problem with the WA in UGS and CurvedGS is that they are slow and suck. UGS Stomp move is literally useless, the transition for R1 or R2 shouldn't be that slow, that's why the skip makes it almost usable. The CGS spin has no range and does no damage, the move shouldn't even exist, the followup R2 should have been the standard L2.

Yeah I know what you mean, but idk. From my experience with it using the BK shield and glaive, it was pretty damn fun and very reasonable in its effectiveness.

I think as long as the glitch remains in the game, it opens up another play style with the BKG which is great. You could honestly switch between them now, people usually never 1H a glaive but now you have a legit reason to. You could do both 2H and 1H with a WA shield to mix things up whenever you want, depending on the situation. At a minimum you can at least do one or the other depending on how you want to play, if you want to use a shield with a glaive you can do it now.

Basically I'd say 2H used to be superior, but with the glitch I think 2H vs. 1H with WA shield are equal, and mostly a matter of taste. You can even do both, even on the cheap weight-wise with an eastern iron shield. Especially with the BK Glaive you can really make use of the whole moveset, it's awesome.

I'm on my first play through of DS3 Just beat the Old Demon King & got to Irithyll with a level 50 quality build. I want to be able to try out some of the heavier swords

There's so much underrated shit in this game that nearly no one uses, rope firebombs are one of them. Discovered that shit when I started using UGS's, they use no stamina and can be dropped when you're at 0 stamina, perfect for people trying to backstab you or otherwise roll and attack after you're out of stamina. It's not even that bad despite lightning resistance in all honesty, but of course is best at low-mid levels. The water AoE looks amazing and does a bunch of damage too. Other than that it only requires 12 str to use and weighs only 4 lbs, which matters for a lot of builds (especially, again, for lower levels).
